I'm gonna wait a few weeks and let my funds build up before I buy. Good thing I had the heads up. Luckily that place is tiny enough where I can wait and still not have a bad seat. not as good as yours, I had somewhere around there for Norton New Year's Eve, and that only used half the seats. I'd assume the ring is the same place the stage was when I went so pretty close. I'll be looking foward to metting the Beautiful People though after the show.
Btw, I will totally mark if Velvet wins next week, I hate knowing she won't though. And if they are building friction between Angelina and Velvet and split them up, I'm going to be fucking pissed.

Well, no guarantee The Beautiful People will be on hand. I have not seen them on any house show results. Usually its been Kong defending the title, with Gail or ODB on hand. Jacqueline was also on some shows, either wrestling in a 3-way with Kong and Gail or ODB, or just seconding Storm. Not sure if Sky and Angelina will be around, Sir.

Well seeing as they are invovled in a feud with Gail Kim, and my girl Velvet has a title shot this week, I tend to disagree, Sir. Yes, Velvet is doing the job next week, but the ring time can't hurt her improving. And seeing as Talyor Wilde is now Knockout champ, I see other girls, like Angelina, and Gail, and Roxxi, shit even Jackie and Traci will be getting shots. Cause otherwise, we're looking at what happened between Umaga and Santino during his debut run for the IC. I don't think they'll go that route, rather push her as a fight champ, a la CM Punk, till she get's bland.
Going by promo skills, shouln't be long. And regardless, a key point now is to establish the Knockout division as a wide open division where everyone is legit and can win. Giving the belt right back to Kong makes that take a backstep. I don't think it's a coincidence Gail and the Beautiful People's feud is starting to heat up just as a change is made with the Kockout title. Look how long they built it up to give the big rub to Taylor Wilde? Putting the strap on Kong is hitting the reset button and even if Taylor Wilde is a failed experiment, scrapping everything would be even more wasteful. Wrestling fans have longer attention spans than the writers in pro wrestling think, so I feel they'll keep true to the wrestling apsect of the Knockouts, and not or dramatize it. Although I am curious to what Traci and Cornettes coversation was about.
That said, fuck what I know, I'll mark for a Velvet win next win, I'm always pulling for the Beautiful People. Holllerrrrr.

I too am happy the belt is off of Kong for now, opening up some new tangles and fueds. But Kong works well for the house show tours, as she is an attraction that makes the fans go ooo and ahh. I suppose Velvet can do that in a different way. But TNA loves running Kong vs Gail out there on the tour. Hey, you know already that Taylor is one of my top 2 female wrestlers, but I dont hold much hope she will be on the house show circuit, even if she is still hanging on to the strap.
We'll see. What is fact is that TNA has a Hell of a Knockout division, and with enough depth its one that could hold a show on its own. But I still think they will end up carting out old faves and standbys Kong, Gail, and ODB.

I asgree, I simply think they are going through a phase where they use standouts like Kong and Gail, as well as the strap, to put people over. I'm not disagreeing, I just have a hunch they might start using more since the focus isn't all on Kong now.
And not for nothing, everytime on impact when they have the upcoming dates ad, there is a quick shot of both Velvet and Angelina posing. And at the very least, you of all people should know, anything is possible in pro wrestling. And if Velvet shocks the world next week, whos to say she wouldn't be on the card?

Saw a house show report making the rounds, and Velvet and Angelina did indeed make an appearance, jobbing out to Gail and ODB. Afterwards Angelina grabbed the mic, did the 'this town sucks' bit, and said they were never coming back.
They are the most over knockouts in the company, they should make Westbury, especially at almost 70 bucks a ducat. By the way, some $45 tix have showed up on Livenation.com, a bit further back from where we are, but at least a second tier of pricing is out there.

I'll be picking up my tix sometime in the next few days when I order Weezer Garden tix. I'm bringing a sign that says I Paid to See the Beautiful People.
I'm a bit pissed Gail Kim is gone, I was shocked then mad, dumb fucking move. Let Tomko and Gail leave, but try and resign the Dudleys and fucking Sting. Assholes. I look foward to seeing my first AJ Styles match live as he's one of my favorite younger guys, hopefully he get's thrown in the title mix soon.

Happy to see Christian on hand - Dana will be as well. Some good main matches. A little glum that Taylor Wilde does not appear to be making the trip, or Curry Man...we really wanted to dance with Curry Man.
If this listing is to believed, Emma is going to be petrified to see Kong.

Just posted this over on the Torch board - I was in a "news-breakin' mood." Ill probably post more when I can part with this glass of whiskey and the comfy couch across the room, but let me drop this on yaz. Mick Foley was on hand, and bought out before the crowd. Described as a fervant fan, he came out to chants and applause. In a funny moment, after circling the ring and gladhanding the patrons, he asked Borash how the Hell to get back to the dressing room. At one point in the evening I saw one of the refs have to point the way to one of the grapplers leaving the ring as well. Anyhow, he said he is looking forward to his TNA stint, and would not be there if he did not believe in the product, or think he could help make an "impact." He was his normal jovial self, leading chants for his kids and shuffling around in his sweats. As to Team 3D, Bubba Ray grabbed a mic and said that they had an announcement, and there were no better to get that announcement than the local fanbase. He quipped that Team 3Ds contracts expired "as soon as we put Abyss through that table tonight." He then admitted they have no real idea what the Hell they are going to do next, or what is on tap for "Team 3D....or the Dudley Boys" To slant this more towards a work of sorts, he announced that everyone would know "tomorrow night in New York City." I find it hard to fathom they will come to a decision on a contract tomorrow afternoon. But he made it quite clear that this may be it for Team 3D in TNA circles. Oh, and in another interesting note, after raising ticket prices exhorbitantly across the board, the place went from a sellout in a snowstorm last time around to no more than three-quarters full on a nice evening on the Island. And of all things they ran out of $20 programs, which ended any thoughts I had of sticking around for the "around the ring shake and sign" they hold after the TNA shows. How the Hell do you run out of programs?

Well, back to TNA we go tonight. The Theatre at Westbury. I believe the main event is Angle vs Styles with Jeff Jarrett (1st appearance at the Westbury shows) as the special referee.
Long Island legends Mick Foley and Taz will be on hand, Taz will be signing programs before the show in the lobby, where I shall say hello the man. Also looks like the Beautiful People will be on hand, and hopefully my favorite diva, Taylor Wilde!
We have had a lot of fun at these shows. I believe we'll stick around after the show for the obiligatory wrestlers-around-the-ring autograph party.

Saw a Tweet from Jeremy Borash, who has just boarded his plane for New York, and accompanying him "for the weekend" is....Kevin Nash. Nash notoriously does not do house shows, but looks like we may get a look at him tonight in Westbury!

Great show last night in Westbury. I must saw wowza in many regards. After quite the spate of empty seats last time around, a year ago, the place was packed tonight. Loud, and rabid. Merchandise flying everywhere. The proverbial buzz in the air.
Couple of random notes, a hodge podge as it were. Taz was signing programs before the show to grand acclaim. Earl Hebner was with him, taking the money for programs, and signing too.
Nash is actually on the house show swing, it was cool seeing him in that environ. He teamed with Eric Young against Beer Money. In the main AJ beat Angle quick and zippy, with Jeff Jarrett as the special ref. It was possiblly the shortest tilt of the night, which was a downer in some regards. Longest match was between Daniels (who was not taking too kindly to chants and comments of "Curry Man" as he made his way to and from the ring, and Desmond Wolfe.
Earl Hebner was having a grand old time, first doing a Bret Hart strut to greet the inevitable "You Screwed Bret" cacaphony, then a Ric Flair strut after grabbing a kiss from Madison Rayne during a frenetic tag-team tilt between the Beautiful People of Madison and Velvet and Taylor Wilde and Sarita. The match was hampered by boisterous chants of "Get Undressed" and the like, though I guess people had strip poker on the mind.
Parts of the night I particularly enjoyed was Rhino grabbing a mic to bellow, "I think the Jets suck!" and Mick Foley complimenting me on my Old-school Big Bossman "CORPORATE SECURITY" t-shirt when I had him sign my program. Don West was with him playing the Earl Hebner role of collecting the money, and I had him sign (he gets a full page in the program) - Mick asked if he could sign on the same page, and both let me know enthusiastically thats the only dual-signed Mick Foley / Don West page out there.
They were going to do the autograph thing after the show but the place was PACKED and the l9nger we waited, the more trouble it is to get out of that one-exit only parking lot.
Very gracious family next to us was letting Emma by to the aisle with their sons to see the wrestlers going to and from the ring, which was down our aisle (we were seats 5-7 with the entryway to our left)
I also hopped in on Don's Brown Bag Special - $20 got us a Sting shirt and 4 random DVDs. I scored great on the DVDs (TNA Year 1, which I did not have but have wanted) and 2 PPVs from 2005 that featured Tito Ortiz as special guest referee in the main event (never seen these shows) - also, on one, Rhino won the title (and Im a closet Rhino fan)
Dana can take the Sting shirt for hanging around the house in, though it may make appearances at wrestling signings or shows.
Fantastic time!
