WHEN THE HECKLEHOUSE WAS STARTED IN AUGUST OF 06, THE YANKEES HAD JUST COME OFF ONE OF THE MOST DOMINATING REGULAR SEASON AUGUSTS THEY HAD EVER HAD, IN SWEEPING BOSTON 5 STRAIGHT AT FENWAY.
THEY WERE WELL ON THEIR WAY TO TAKING THE EAST.
THEN HECKLEHOUSE STARTED....
THEY WERE PLAYED BY THE DETROIT TIGERS.
IN THE FIRST FULL MLB SEASON OF THE HECKLEHOUSE (2007), THE BOSTON RED SOX WENT ON TO WIN THEIR 1ST AMERICAN LEAGUE EAST DIVISION SINCE 1995, AND IN CONVINCING FASHION BY HOLDING THE YANKEES BACK TO AT ONE POINT 14 GAMES.
THOUGH THE YANKEES GAVE SOME HOPE OF A COMEBACK, THEIR FATE WAS DEALT TO THEM EARLY IN OCTOBER BY YET AGAIN ANOTHER AL CENTRAL TEAM, THIS TIME THE CLEVELAND INDIANS.
THE BOSTON RED SOX ARE WELL ON THEIR WAY TO A CHAMPIONSHIP, MAKING THEM THE ONLY TEAM TO WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP IN THE FULL SEASON ERA OF HECKLEHOUSE.COM
YOUR THOUGHTS ON THIS MATTER?

Well played, but the Yankee postseason malaise started well before. In fact, you can almost say Hecklehouse started cause the Yankee collapse to Boston in the postseason excarbated bad moods over on the other board over the course of the year, leading to the fracture and the split.
Oh, lets not forget that Yankees have not won a World Series since the current incarnation of Section39.com kicked up.

In august of 06, the yankee bats were as alive as they had ever been.
Manny thought that 06 was the year, with NO ANGELS and NO RED SOX in line for the yankees to take on in the playoffs.
But then something went horribly wrong.....
Something that till this day has not been replaced.

Again this is not a slap at the yankees world series drought.
This is more the realization that aslong as there is a hecklehouse.com, the Boston Red Sox will continue to win the World Series.
Tom....the fate of the baseball world rests in your hands.

Point to Justin. I might point out that Tone first became known in the bleachers in 2004, as a quiet young rookie who sat a few rows back and nodded a lot. What happened that year? The Boston Red Sox won the World Series, thanks mainly to a horrific Yankee collapse. As Tone's presence in the bleachers got stronger, the Yankees endurance in October got weaker, losing in 5 in 2005, 4 in 2006, and 4 in 2007.
Arguably, the playoff performance in 2007 was worse than 2006, because one can always point to Kenny Rogers' cheating as a contributing factor in one of those losses. In 2007, there was no such cheating, though Tone's antics were clearly enough for God Himself to reach down from heaven and send a plague in the Yankees' direction.

My first full season was 2003 actually, but from what a bunch of people have been IMing, TEXTING, FAXING me, this is not the first time you have brought up false facts on this bored.
Again when i argue i bring in the true facts, and those are that in one full season of MLB service, this bored has given the red sox a division, a rookie of the year, a cy young, and a 2nd world series.
It truly was a great day for new england sports when this site went up.
Rumor is that HECKLEHOUSEDAY will be every october 20th in Boston mass.

Continue your fine work on this board though gentleman.
The baseball talk seems to be flowing well.
The "no negative talk" policies seem to be up to date.
The Wrestling section truly is a hot spot.
And of course, the New England Sports Dynasty, continues to rage on.
See you all tonight.

Hmmmm.... 2003.
The Yankees were on the verge of winning another championship, when David Wells' back broke.
Seems like the more noticeable Tone became, the worse things got for the Yankees of New York.

They're both funny, but neither are even close to his best work. The one of me in the Saturday Night Fever outfit moving across the screen is funnier than both of these.

By the way Balls, thanks for putting the mush on the teams the Red Sox play. If you keep trying to jinx a team Knoblauch style it's going to reverse on you. Knoblauch's jinx was sincere because he wasn't trying to jinx, yours was an attempt at a jinx, which is a mush! Thanks a bunch for handing the Red Sox the World Series and thanks for costing my softball team a win by stepping on Baloo's foot!

I've never given this thought until Fame brought it to my attention.
It does seem to have some merit. I mean, what were the odds of the Sox winning more than one title this century without Tom, MSB & co.
I thank MSB's weak attempt at reverse phych for the Sox 3-1 comeback vs Clev.

And moved to EZBOARD as a monolith in 2001.
I take no blame for the Red Sox surge and Yankee malaise. I blame Joe Torre for a lot of it.

Actually, if I were jinxing things Knoblauch style, and I admit, I'm no Knoblauch in that regard, you bozos countered everything I did by calling it out. You are the anti-mush.
Tom is correct. There was a Yahoo message board in 2000. If there was any incarnation before that, it wasn't active. Baloo may have registered the domain in 1998, but the board in its current form, moved to EZBoard in 2001.

Section39.com was used to store bleacher pictures and Sheriff Tom columns and other detritus before it changed to being used as a message board.

Section39.com was used to store bleacher pictures and Sheriff Tom columns and other detritus before it changed to being used as a message board. Then it became the place you came to hammer on MSB & everything about him. Then this board was born. That about right?

Pretty close. Domi--I'm pretty sure that in the very early days of Section39.com, there was always a message board through Yahoo. But I guess when they realized the only thing with activity was the board, they jettisoned the other features.
Too bad we can't access that original board.

actually my older son is the jinx. My daughter was born in '98, Wells pitched a perfect game on her Christening.... 3 WS in a row from 98-2000. then came little Pete. They lost 3 in a row to Seattle from 4/24-26/01 or so, and the rest is history.

Then...that really leaves only two more options.
Either you have another child to cancel out the jinx, or..........
well, I hope you didn't have a vasectomy.
