Actually from all accounts he probably should be on the list, his name always seemed to come up in murmerings, and his career followed the typical path. That said, if he was careful enough to cover tracks, he won't be on the list. Problem with this list is people on it are not only offenders, they are dumb offenders.

Just because you're a good player doesn't make you smart enough to cover your tracks completely.

If Pettite is on the list I look forward to seeing Balls giving equal treatment and making the "syringe into the arm" motion everytime he pitches this season just like he does for every Giambi at bat......

All this list does is give Mets fans a chance to yell "you cheated when you won" nothing more and nothing less in my eyes....at this point this is a non event......ok so Tino and O'Neill "juiced" that was a few years ago..I am worried about our bullpen and 2008 much more than this......
One thing I will say is I will raise a big eyebrow if many Yanks are on the list and no Sox are mentioned (Hmmm..Big Papi really took off after his move to the Sox......)

I probably will. At that point, the only difference is that Pettitte produced and won. I hope nothing today taints the dynasty, but I guess it's possible.

So if Giambi hit 50 HRs every year you wouldn't do it? Somehow I doubt it...

Also it doesn't seem to bother you that none other than the Hulkster himself juiced his way to the title....hypocritical if you ask me....lol

i dont think anything major is going to come out of this at all, to be blunt.
You guys are expecting to hear names like Clemens, Jeter, Ortiz, even Pettitte...not happening. You probably will hear names like Matt Stairs or Dee Brown.
Why dont we wait and stop playing guessing games?

Well today's Post/Bergen Rcord are promising several "prominent" Yankees will be named but who knows....
George Mitchell today will deliver his report -- and some prominent Yankees players are going to be named, according to one report.
The Bergen Record reported that "several" prominent Yankees players would be named at this afternoon's news conference. No Mets from the current were expected to be named, a source told the Record

If Giambi produced like he did in Oakland, I wouldn't hate him as much, but I would still be disgusted at his cheating. I made similar gestures with Sheffield, and he was better than Giambi.
As for the Hulkster, the power of Hulkamania washed the steroids from his veins.

The players involved were already notified, am I right in that? I believe so. So I bet damage control has been being prepared.
I did notice a few comments from Hank Steinbrenner here and there, and none from Mets ownership, in todays paper.

Hmm. I thought I had heard that players were told. Some speculated that was why Tejada was trying to push for a trade, and others even speculated that is why A-Rod rushed back to the Yankees rather than hang on the vine.
Is the FAN going to be carrying the press conference live?

If no Sox are mentioned, someone needs to question Mitchell and his involvement in with the Sox. It's too early to even speculate but, that could be construed as a cover-up, even if it's true.

I'm not convinced of that. Not saying I am dubious that he is not clean, I am saying that I would think he covered his tracks if dirty.

While that conflict may come up, I do find it hard to believe that Mitchell would throw away a lifetime of work in public service to cover up for Bud Selig or Theo Epstein. Jw

They aren't naming 80 scrubs. And Clemens is going to be on that list.

Well, if Clemens is on it, rest assured that so is Pettitte.
Check out Steiner Sports. They have announced a deal that if any player appears on the list and has signed stuff available through Steiner, you can get $50 off said merchandise once the names are outed.

Interesting. What years are covered again? If Clemens is in the report, then Pettitte is likely guilty. I don't know if anyone knew this, but they are pretty good friends.
