Excuse me if i'm posting this in the wrong place but maybe you can move it if you have an issue.
A couple of you know about this and have expressed interest. Yesterday I sent out an email to some and many others I have no email address so I'm throwing it out there on the board.
I'm setting up a 13 run pool this year. $20 to get in $600 if you win
I assume many of you know how this works but I'll give a brief overview and if you want further info I can address your questions and concerns.
You get a random team (your name will be picked out of a hat) and the winner is the person whose team scores 0 runs-13 runs first. The teams are listed alphabetically by city. It's simple enough and it requires no effort on your part. I do all the work and I will be sending out weekly email updates with where each team stands.
As of now, I got 10 and I just sent it out yesterday. Obviously, we need 30 people cause there are 30 teams.

I'd take paypal. Larry and Vinny are in so there's proof that I'm legit. I would take paypal but its prob slightly more than $20 since paypal takes a cut.

Yeah, Joe T is legit, no worries on that front.
Joe, what do they do with the pot if no teams score the 1-13?
As to PayPal, when I buy wrestling DVDs and the like through the traders they usually hit me up with what I think is the $1.00 PayPal processing fee on top of the charges.

Giambi is in....
Tom, you actually need that 0 also. Your team has to get shutout. Last year, we got two pools in before it was too late to start a 3rd one. I have never heard of it going wa whole year without a winner but I'd split the pot with the tied teams if that were to happen.

Hey I was just thinking - someone must have won this with the Rays victory over the Yankees the other day...13-4 right?
|
|
|
Post by baldvinny on Apr 7, 2008 12:56:55 GMT -5
no, you are missing the point....each team has to score every number, from 0-13
so, with that game for example, the rays would no longer need 13, and the yanks could tick off number 4

Post by Chris on Apr 7, 2008 13:00:24 GMT -5
Ahhh, GOT IT. I thought it was the first to score exactly 13 in a game.
You're way is better.

I wish Chris was right as I have The Rays!!! LOL
But I'll take eliminating that tough 13 number...and thanks to the shutout yesterday I got both ends of the spectrum taken care of already..though they have scored 6 twice already as well.....

Round 2 ended last night with the White Sox scoring 13 to clinch the $600. The Tigers won round 1. Round three starts tonight. Who's in?
2 winners before the All-Star break. Who would've thunk? The White Sox hit 14 boxes in 25 games. That's zany!

Well, what do you know? Look who won. Our good friend Giambi. Congrats to him! $600 richer. A new pool is in the works. You are all more than welcome to enter. $20 and this will probably be the fourth and final one. I've paid out 6 $600 winners.
And then you got Captain catching a ball at the HR Derby. A lucky bunch of guys those bleacher creatures. Let's go Yankees. Can we please get another 7 Ws in a row?
