(Not really enough to talk about to have a thread for each show)
The Brian Williams episode of Centerstage was really good. Anyone see it?
(And by Brian Williams, I don't mean Bison Dele)

I taped the Danica Patrick Centerstage like 4 months ago, and have not seen it yet. Centerstage has gotten hokey. Kay has admitted his fantasy would be to have a David Letterman type-show. So he's living out his fantasy, and from what i have seen of it, it stinks.

I think that Centerstage is a pretty good interview show while they are covering the guest's life in chronological order, and inserting commentary here and there. It's the end that gets me. The Hit And Run is just childish. Do I care what Tom Brokaw's favorite midnight snack is....seriously lame!
The Brian Williams episode was good Tom - check it out. Some of Williams' humor was pretty deprecating toward Kay in a joking way, and it was pretty funny. I came away from that show liking Williams a lot more than I had....not that I have disliked him before...I was simply ambivalent.

So Bob Lorenz is hyping the Snoop Dogg Centerstage episode and he remarks on "the unlikely friendship between Snoop Dogg and Willie Nelson." Uhhh, Bob, where the fuck you been? Under a rock? What's so unlikely about this friendship?

Outside of Yankee games, I don't watch any YES programming.

Some Yankee fan you are. Yankeeographies? Centerstage episodes with Kay's Yankee friends? Roundtables from the Yogi Berra museum?
I guess you are too busy watching Nick at Nite.

I do not watch Yes programming either. It's because living in the BS state that I do, YES is not available via cable. I can not get a dish due to the trees in the area. I will be asking Santa for a Slingbox so that I can get the programming via the internet and my father's TV.

Once in awhile I'll catch a Yankeeography, but I really don't care about Hideki Matsui's childhood.
And Yankee classics are a joke. The games they choose are just dumb.

The whole idea of Yankee Classics drives me up a wall. I had to laugh yesterday flipping through the dial, I see a Yankee game from earlier this year on. I mean, geez, the Yankees have their first day off in like a month, and in the one day YES has to throw on another game. I mean, who is really needing to watch this? Are you so addicted to Yankee baseball that you need to watch a game from a few months ago cause a new one is not on?
When is enough enough?
I thought that older doof from Vinny's Road Trip season was too much. He would go to a game live, then go home and watch it again on replay, to make sure he did not miss anything, and hear it talked about.

Why? You buy them on DVD. They show the 77 and 78 World Series all the time, which you own.

And it wasn't even that great of a game. It was 2 months ago, and Damon went 6 for 6. Nice, but a classic? I don't like when a game where just one player does something cool is considered a classic.

The problem lies in that they show it a half dozen times a month. Its overkill. And my point really was based on a game from the first week of the 2008 season being replayed last night simply cause a live Yankee game was not on.
They need more original / different programming. Stop playing the same things over and over.
And I do NOT own the 78 Series on DVD, i own the 77 box set. Big difference in a nice box set collection for my shelf and perusal than watching the damn thing on YES cause there is nothing else to watch.

Well, some people chose not to spend all the $ on the box set....so they get to relive some of that on YES.
I'm fine with that programming.
I would prefer to see that stuff encapsulated, perhaps re-done with some commentary and documentary style editing...but overall I'm good with it.
Centerstage is what it is....it's not meant to be Yankee programming - it's a light-hearted interview show (even though Kay fancies it serious television journalism).
The Road Trip was entertaining...goofy reality TV...but entertaining.
I could do without Yankees On Deck, the stupid Running show. I like the Steiner Sports Memorabilia show. Yankeeographies are good.
I'm not sure what all the hub-bub is about. It's a YANKEES channel, so cut them some slack for being so Yankee-centric.

I do wish the had more up to date live coverage of regional sports.
Don't like the occasional month-old boxing match...show me something LIVE.
Show me some live St. John's, Fordham, Columbia, Rutgers sports programming.
Show more LIVE minor league baseball..perhaps games from not only the regional, but the various Yankee farm teams.
