Any of you lunks watch this show? I have watched it in spurts, and I am currently in another one. I have a tape of 6 hours worth at home (taped during a Cheap Seats marathon) and I have started DVR'ing the episodes on ESPN Classic at 2:30 in the morning.
I have to say this...there is no show that makes me consistently bust out laughing as this one. You know the premise, its basically the Mystery Science Theatre of campy old "sporting events" - from roller derby, to 1994 poker tourneys, to dog shows, to a beard and mustache show I saw last night. Strongman competitions....they even did a baseball all-star game one time around, and an old Mid-South wrestling show.
Last night I watched a show that had half dog show and half beard and mustache championship. It was one chuckle after another. Just wondering if any of you are on the Cheap Seats bandwagon, or would consider TIVO or DVR'ing tonights 2:30 offering yourself (its a compendium of footage from Evil Knievel stunts!) so we can discuss amongst ourselves.

I don't watch it regularly, but the spelling bee episode I saw was hilarious!

They actually do one show reviewing one of the old IWA (Mil Mascaras, Ernie Ladd, Mighty Igor, Eric the Red, The Monguls, Tex McKenzie etc.) weekly wrestling shows that I watched on Channel 9 in the early 70's prior to the WWWF taking over the midnight time slot. Keep an eye out for that one. It was on in the last year because I saw it on there one night and watched it again.....

Bringing this back up cause once again ESPN Classic is showing at least one episode from the can daily, and I am backing them up on my DVR. Still holds true, I laugh out loud more watching a single episodes worth of this show than most full seasons of some of my faves, like Reno 911 and Always Sunny.
These two are just wits, and the footage is funny in and of itself. Watching a billiard tourney between pro football players and professional poolies from back in the early 90s was a holler and a hoot.
Folks, if you have not seen this in a while, or - gasp - have never seen it, set the DVR/VCR for 2AM weekdays, and watch and enjoy. Classic!
