So much for grand plans, at least for today. Only minutes after an elaborate ceremony and 15 feet into a trip from the docks, the Intrepid got stuck in massive gobs of mud, and will sit there for the time being. The mission to move it to drydock so work can commence on its refurbishing has been scrapped for the day, as of 10:30, as the tides were not cooperating. Way to get stuck. news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061106/ap_on_re_us/uss_intrepid

That is hysterical. All that fanfare. Two ex-mayors. The former commander of the ship from 1962. Stuck.
HA HA!

Actually, I heard that it will stay there until the December full-moon high tide.
Guess it's time to send the workers home until next month.
