Glad it's back.
Last night's episode was really funny...the showing up to a party you missed the next night so you could say you mixed up the dates, was good. I was disappointed to see that the show is only 1/2 hour now.

Eh, wasnt the show ALWAYS 30 minutes? I have season 1 on DVD, and there are 10 30 minute episodes on there...
You need to check that. I think 30 minutes is the way to go, an hour would get to be a drain.
I dont have HBO, so I am missing this. I did get to see a heap of I think it was season 3 or 4, cause I had free HBO for signing back up to cable or something, and liked it enough that I went out and bought Season 1 on DVD.
In time, I will pick up more. Keep an eye out for Larry David on CenterStage, Michael Kay can not stop gushing about how good its going to be.

Yeah, it was always an hour....well, it was always an HBO hour...you know...starts roughly 5 after the hour (after all the HBO plugs are done) and ended about 10 or 15 till. But they always blocked of 1 hour for the show...not it's 30 minutes.

Eh...I dont know. Again, my season 1 DVD contains 10 30 minute episodes. And sorry, something that starts "5 after" and ends "15 before" is NOT an hour show.

Hmmm...I guess I'm mistaken. I own all season available on DVD...but I guess since the show hasn't aired since 05 I've become accustom to 1 hour HBO shows.
Anyway, great show, regardless.

"And sorry, something that starts "5 after" and ends "15 before" is NOT an hour show."
And that's why I went out of my way to refer to it as an "HBO Hour" - The Sopranos, John From Cincy, The Wire, etc... all of them had 1 solid hour blocked off on the menu/guide yet none of them started exactly on the hour and all ended at least 10 minutes till.

Cho, be that as it may, the episodes on the Season 1 disc are COMPLETE, and clock in at just under 30 minutes.
I dont really care what HBO does to fill blank time, the episodes are THIRTY MINUTES IN LENGTH and have been SINCE SEASON ONE.

Thoroughly enjoyed the season premier. This is one of the few shows out there that can make me laugh out loud. It looks like the displaced family is going to be living with them for a while.
By the way, I dont see much of a difference between a half-hour HBO and an hour long network show if you've got a DVR, because you can get through the hour in about 40 minutes skipping commercials.

But, AGAIN, the FULL season one episodes clock in at 28 minutes. I dont know, for the life of me, where you guys are coming up with this "HBO hour" and "40 minute" stuff.

I have season 1 through 3, all episodes half hour each. Even in tv guides and the tivo guide since I can remember has always had it a half hour. The thing that was an hour was the special that then gave birth to Curb. I gotta agree with Tom, this is crazy talk.
I loved the line when he's eating the cake and he goes up to bed. Cheryl asks where he was. And as casual as can be Larry says,"Eating some penis". Line of the night in my opinion. This sub plot of a displaced family living with Larry is fucking great. This show was off for too long(an HBO thing).

I need to start picking up season to season on DVD. I agree with what was already said and what many fans say, its one of the few "laugh out loud while watching" shows. And that is exactly the kind of show that gets funnier with a repeated viewing.
Enjoy the show guys! Hey, James, get in the wrestling thread - Balls admitted he watches wrestling for everything BUT the actual wrestling part.

Like I said, I must have forgotten, it's been so long. I must be used to Sopranos, John From Cincy, etc.
I was wrong...great show, I have all the DVDs and I will Tivo and save these new episodes and revisit them often.

Fuck HBO for canning John from Cincy. I know you're a fan of the Conchords, but to me I find it bizzare shows like Lucky Louie and John from Cincy while that show gets renewed. And I'm not ripping the show, I've watched it a couple times, laughed a few times, but if that show gets renewed I don't know why John and Louie get shit-canned. Fuck HBO, and bless Larry David for making that channel watchable again. Californicaton though on showtime rules, but at least theres something to watch on sundays next to football.

Lucky Louie was funny...but it was a BAD BAD show. Maybe that's why it was funny...because it was so bad.
You completely lost me when you said that Flight Of The Conchords is "bizarre" coming on the heels of praising John From Cincy. I liked John From Cincy...I stuck it out till the end. But if THAT show is not bizarre....then I simply don't know the meaning of the word. Perhaps the word you were looking for was "corny?" I could see Flight Of The Conchords being described as corny, but bizarre?

I'm sorry, I goofed. I typed wrong, I meant it was bizzare that it got picked up again when the other two shows were dumped. Call it personal taste but I liked the other shows better and just thought that if Conchords got picked up, it's weird the others wouldn't. I tend to skip words at times when I type fast. What's the cut off on posting online when drinking?

The anonymous cumstain/Joe Pepitone jersey was one of the best to date. J.B. Smoove was hilarious...jacking random guys on the street for their #25 Yankee jerseys.

Amazon is running a "sale" of sorts on Curb - a scattered sampling of seasons are selling at $19.99. I already own Season 1, and picked up seasons 2 and 3 yesterday. I want to end up getting them all into my library at some point sooner rather than later.
Amazon does this, and ends up pulling the sales without warning. They had all the Sanford and Son seasons going for $14.99 last week, but before I pulled the trigger they were back up to $24. Ding diggity.

Seinfeld reunion on Curb this season, in the show Larry's new job is writing the reunion of Seinfeld. So it's totally fake so it's almost as if it isn't real. It's the closest we'll come but I think the idea behind it is brilliant. So this season you have that and the fall out of Larry and The Blacks....lol, Makes me laugh every single time. Should be an excellent season.

This might be the funniest sentence I've ever read on the internet:
"So it's totally fake so it's almost as if it isn't real."

This show RULES.
For my money, CYE is much better than Seinfeld ever was.
I hope the marriage to Vivica Fox isn't explained away as some goofy dream sequence or something...I hope that it's legit. Larry married to The Black (family), refugees from Hurricane Katrina, adds a whole new funny dynamic to the show.

I know that sentence doesn't make sense in the English language, but for fans of both shows, it makes perfect sense. The reunion is not a quote unquote reunion so in a way it's like it's a fake reunion, like it's happening in the bizarro world so is it really happening in the normal world?
