Whose watching? I stumbled upon this show last year on a recommendation or three, and sort of liked it. While it falls flat at times, its also one of the few shows around that can make me laugh out loud here and there.
"Cause I am the green man..."
If you did not see this weeks opening 2 episodes for season 3, that sailed over your head. If you did, the visual of the green man dancing at that tailgate party...wow. Bizarre and funny.
Decent show, its got my approval.

We had a thread about this on the other board last year - I was watching then
It's a funny show, but the individual episodes hit or miss. Dumpster Baby was ehhhhhh...had some funny moments. That's all I've seen so far this season.

The episode after that, when a few of them went to an open tryout to make the Philadelphia Eagles, was a stronger effort, and had some laugh out loud moments. I agree the show is totally hit or miss, and although I initially thought "Dumpster Baby" was more a miss, while talking about the episode with my brother this morning we were laughing at a whole heap of it. It certainly had its moments.

The "orange asshole" at the tanning parlor was funny.

Danny De vito on acid was fucking great, I love this show, I got the first two seaaons also, one of my favorite comedies. The dumpster baby was alright, the end when it looked like they were going to cut the baby in half with a sword was really funny.

I think the best episode yet was when they started allowing underage drinking at the bar.

No, the best episode was when Charlie got molested.
Those brothers were the creepiest, funniest dudes ever. They showed up on an episode the next season.
This is one of my favorite shows.

Caught the Eagles tryout episode last night.
Laughed OUT LOUD at Charlie freaking out when Frank told him "I put a whole shitload of acid in your beer."

One of my favorite episodes from the past seasons was the community service they had to do. I don't know why, but grown men blocking shots on little kids is hilarious. i was practically in tears when Charlie runs up and down court chucking the ball and just stuffing kids as hard as possible.

That community service was due to the building they burned down throwing a lit bag of dog shit into an Israeli guy's building.
Funny as fuck when the brother put all the black kids on his team and the other dude was stuck with that fat Chinese kid wearing flip flops. Then Danny Divito gave the best black kid a bike to stay home from the game because he had bet on the other team to win.
This show has been consistently funny since the beginning.
An interesting side note: I noticed from season one that alot of the episodes were directed by Dan Attias (sp), and he directed a shitload of episodes of Deadwood, and I think he directed an episode or two of Rome.

By the way, the "Nightman" and "Dayman" song sequences recently were I believe the singlemost FUNNIEST things I have ever seen on TV. I can think back on them now and still laugh. In fact, I have the episode still on the DVR, and before bed head right over to those parts for a quick chuckle. This show, and RENO 911, are the only shows that make me laugh out loud.

I just picked up the DVDs of such from Amazon. I started watching in season 2, but it was hit and miss in terms of catching the episodes, so now I got the full shebang. Actually, the second half of the weekly Sunny double-shot on FX this week was an episode from last year ("Hundred Dollar Baby") that I missed first time around.
I'll say this - I won't ever miss another new episode.

The current season is getting better and better...started off weak, but lately this show has been very funny. The retarded white rapper episode was hilarious. I've been humming Night Man and Day Man for the past two days.

With the exception of HBO and Showtime series, I don't think there's a better show. I also don't think there's been a weak episode, the Eagles tryout episode was great. Some havn't been as funny as others, but I can't even say that it was weak cause asfar as comedy goes, a bad episode by them is better than most everything else.
Tomorrows episode is the one when they think Macs a serial killer. This got leaked on the internet before the season began so I've seen this episode and from the ones I've seen on FX, this is one of the better ones this season. Since the Rangers play a lot of thursdays I'm hoping the game is over by 10 like most times.

The Office jumped the shark, dude.
I DVR'd the first two seasons of IASIP and copied them to DVD because i didn't know if this show would be around.
When this show first started there was another show on right before it named Starved that was every bit as funny as IASIP. It was about these four people that had eating disorders and were part of an Over Eaters Anonymous type 12 step group.
there was an episode where this guy was dating a girl that gave colostomies, and he was scheduled to have one and she found out he was cheating (or something like that) and she shoved the tube up his ass and started the water and just walked out on him. He hopped off the table in a panic and was walking down this hospital hallway wearing one of those ass out gowns with this tube in his ass that was spraying shit water like a firehose on all these people waiting in line. I laughed so hard, I almost shit myself.
it's a shame that show didn't last.

The Office has taken a turn for the worse with the whole Jim and Pam thing. I think they just ran out of funny.

The Office has NOT jumped the shark by any means. Not taking anything away from Sunny In Philly, but the Office continues to put out quality episodes.

Cho, by all accounts the show sucks now. People in the office say it blows. You're probably just happy cause that idiot couple that people thought would not get together are now together. You hopeless romantic.

Not at all....the Andy character has breathed new life into this show, and Dwight Schrute continues to be a hilarious.
What does "By All Accounts" mean, Tom? You sure do cite a lot of ratings and press when it comes to evaluating TV shows. How about by TOM'S account? You should actually watch it rather than reading some blog and not watching because someone wrote a bad review. The show is funny.

If I want to watch The Office I will track down the British version, but thanks. They set the standard, apparently.

You'd be better served gathering your OWN emperical evidence when it comes to TV shows, the way you do with baseball prospects and music.

Cant wait this thing to come back. Check out this one - not only are the 13 episodes for this season pretty much in the bag and cleared to air for September, another THIRTY-NINE after that are on order from FX. So this thing is going to be around for a while.
