Go Clarkson.
Yeah, that'll happen.
I watched the seeding show over the weekend. I rock!

Yeah selection Sunday was very exciting indeed! Though I'm a bit scared by the jinx of one of their pundits predicting that UND would win.

Why does UNH get to play at home?

As a college hocky fan, glad someone else follows this...to answer your question..UNH is playing there because the seeds are placed in places where they can fill the buildings. That is actually part of the seeding process (as it was in basketball until the tourney exploded in popularity) Whenever the regional is in Providnce or Boston, Maine, BU and BC are all sent there whenever possible.

Its kind of funny that this thread is probably going to catch up and pass the NCAA basketball tourney thread in posts soon. Here's where I go to get my college hockey fix, in regards to websites. The podcast is entertaining. www.insidecollegehockey.com/INCH.htm

It makes sense, but it still seems like an unfair advantage.

Well if you're a number one seed, that basically means you've earned that advantage.

I guess I just found it odd because they're playing in their hometown (I have no clue if that's their home arena).
Is this on ESPN? I know jack shit about college hockey, but I've watched some of the Beanpot here and there, and it's intense.

How could ESPN possibly schedule hockey in-between poker tournaments and Original Entertainment™? You're kidding, right?
Kidding aside, the semifinals are on ESPN2, the finals are on ESPN. For the regionals, we're out of luck - it's ESPNU (which nobody gets - do you?) and ESPN Syndication (but I doubt FSNY is picking it up).

I don't know what you've heard about Cablevision's system in Hoboken, but I'm lucky I get ESPN. Cablevision blows goat. I have proof. I will make it a point to try to catch some of the action, though.

DirecTV subscribers receive ESPNU.
Call your local cable company to complain.

I've been to many a Beanpot, it is a unique tourny in that the whole city pretty much pays attention to it for 2 nights in Feb. I've always sat there thinking that it is a shame NYC does not have a Beanpot type tourny for college hoops.
Back to the topic at hand, most college hockey games find their way to TVU as well.

DirecTV subscribers receive ESPNU. Call your local cable company to complain. DirecTV can lick my nutsack, though Time Warner's not much better. And ESPNU would be the least of my programming complaints; ESPN2HD and Setanta USA are 1 and 2 and everything else is a distant 3rd.

They SHOULD do a college hoops tournament like that in NYC, instead of that gay ECAC Holiday Festival, which used to be St. John's, one mediocre team and two sacrificial lambs, until St. John's decided to SUCK for 10 years.
St. John's, Manhattan, Fordham, LIU, Stony Brook (I'm pretty sure they recently became D-1), Wagner. It's a thought.
