Knicks will SMOKE the Bulls and Nets this year.
Cant wait.
Thank god Randolph is on this team to finally grab the important rebounds.
Good to see Curry making use of his weight loss to and actually showing he can get 2nd and 3rd chances.
Balkman is the most under-rated Bench player in the league, and David Lee is god.
My goal is 45 wins.

The Knicks are definitely improved and looking very good so far. But I like the way the Nets have looked, too. 3-1 with Carter playing like horse turds.

Does that mean I can get a pair of Starburys for $12.99 now?

You just worry about Vince Carter, thanks.
The best thing that can happen to the Knicks is Marbury leaving. He is a cancer. He has never been a success wherever he goes. He is a pox on the league.
That said, I am still looking for a Size 13 pair of low-top Starbury II white/blue/orange sneakers to wear on Sundays when I watch the Broncos. Thanks.

Fucking Marbury...the guy is guaranteed $42 million and he walked out. Cancel his contract already.

Any GM who signs him should be fired on the spot. If you look up "clubhouse cancer" in the dictionary, his mug shot should be under it.

The Kincks lose by 48 last night. Third worst defeat in history, and the worst showing in 40 years.

Whats the skinny on these "Jeff Van Gundy back to coach the Knicks" rumors?
|
|
|
Post by IronHorse4 on Nov 30, 2007 12:46:47 GMT -5
It's about as skinny as you and me put together.
I'd take him, though.
If I was Van Gundy, I would run far away from that.

I haven't followed the Knicks much, but are they still a team filled with ridiculously bad contracts that kill the salary cap and ruin any chance to get better any time soon?

I realize that losing a parent is one of the most horrible experiences one can go through in life, but is Marbury getting paid for taking this much bereavement time? Most people return to work at this point, and is he actually getting paid for such a long leave of absence? Paul O'Neill played in the WS the night his dad died.

Eh, playing the night your Dad dies is no big thing. Not like anything can be done for him or the family that night. Play your game, and go home in the morning. Thats when the real arranging and picking up the pieces of your broken hearts gets done.
Friggin' Marburys Dad was pronounced dead while he was still playing that night, and no one even told him until the game was over.

Is there even a close 2nd to the WORST contract in the NBA? If the Knicks trade Marbury for the 2nd and 3rd worst contracts in the NBA, they'd be a much better team....hell, if they had no coach at all, they'd be a much better team. This team is amazing, they make NO improvements and become an even bigger joke with each year. Didn't Larry Bird dispatching Isiah and pretty much telling anyone who would listen that the guy is incompetent in any capacity beyond player, mean ANYTHING to the Knicks?

Yeah, but hasn't it been like 2 weeks since his dad died? I can understand a few days to grieve and of course time off for the funeral, but he didn't play because it was Christmas without his dad and he was sad.

We would be better off with Marbury's DAD (current health status and all) on the roster than Stephan.

It's being reported that Jeff Van Gundy and Mark Jackson are the two leading candidates for the Knicks coaching position.

At this point, how much could a head coach accomplish? Isn't the roster so screwed up that it will take years to right the ship?

Van Gundy (I assume they were talking about Jeff?) is an outstanding coach....would love to have him back.
The problem is the players. You could roll Knute Rockne, Vince Lombardi, John Wooden, and Phil Jackson all into one man, and he couldn't coach this roster to success.

Ok, so why do the Knicks have to wait until next week to decide if Isaiah still will have a job in the organization. Jesus George W. Bush looks at Isiah and laughs at his failures. Let's see he messed up the Raptors, killed the CBA. messed up the Pacers and the Knicks and yet he still might have a job

Because they still have to pay him. Basically, they want to find SOMETHING for him to do, as opposed to letting him off scott-free.
