Way for them to make the Bowl as sterile as possible. That would be supremely gay. I am sure the drunks who just dropped a couple of grand on tix and airfare will be thrilled they cant crack a can in the lot before the game.
I was at the Coliseum, peeing between periods at the Islander game yesterday, and looking at a sign for a company that does nothing but manufacture "tailgating goods." That seems like a fun industry to be in - this sort of crap notwithstanding.

Actually, I think part of the tailgating issue is that they don't let the general public park in the stadium lot for security reasons. I'm pretty sure I've heard that parking is off-site and fans are bussed in.

Hmm. So what is the parking lot, this big old empty space surrounding the Stadium? Kind of a waste, if you ask me.

No one of the things in the parking lot will be a high dollar sponsored tailgating tent. I guess 6 plus years later they are now worried about an attack at the super bowl. They were talking about the propane tanks and all that stuff.

The high-dollar stuff, all of the media, and God knows what else.

Maybe 10 years ago they allowed tailgating...it was like the equivilant of the infield in Daytona. Consider it the Super Bowl ghetto. Many people would park big campers or winebagos, tailgate , drink, party, and not even have tickets. They would watch the game in the lot on TV.. I did it it was a fun experience but not something I would do every year.
9/11 gave them the excuse to get rid of this in the guise of security. Because someone intent on doing something would of course give up if they see a sign saying "Ticketed Fans Only"
Now its $60 to park and you need to show a game ticket.
the tailgate ban to ticket holders makes sense. Now the damn pregame concert crap starts long before kickoff. the NFL wants people inside that Stadium 3 hours before to show a full stand for the crappy pregame activity.
The Super Bowl isn;t even for the rich anymore. It;s a private sponsor party...the NFL cares more about the Comissioners Party saturday then whether its a good game or not
