Text of memo sent to the league the morning of 3/6.
This is something that was bought to my attention, and I want to rule on this and nip it before it becomes an issue.
For the time being, this is going to continue to be a paper and pen draft. No laptops to be used at the draft. First off, not everyone is privvy to that advantage (I happen to have one, so I am not whining from that side) and, more importantly, this is a ruling that will affect less, rather than more, as i dont really see anyone bringing one along anyway
There are programs out there that can basically draft for you. You are able to bring any spreadsheets or magazines you want to the draft, but I am not interested in someone having 5 different roto sites up at a given time, or able to enter a name of someone just picked and having the name of the next comparable player pop up on the screen
I have seen this at work, and I know a couple of leagues, including the one run in this office, that ban the use of laptops for this reasoning.
if this ban is an issue for anyone here, please speak up now. If its not, dont bother wasting time arguing about it. I do think its a fair concern, but if this is changing the way someone was going to go about doing things, this is the time to speak up. Please reply to all for the time being.
I will be calling the bar this Saturday to hopefully make final arrangements for the 24th, and will let you all know what comes of it later in the weekend.
thank you - see you on the 24th - NO LAPTOPS.
