We need all of you there by noon. There will be stringent penalties for anyone who is late, starting with automatic pick-slot set at the end, and then a draft going on without you. We will not be holding this thing up. Please allot extra time to make sure you are prompt.
An email will be sent expousing further guidelines.

I suggest simply skipping the person in the draft, and they get to draft when they get there. Traffic will not be an excuse.

And when the Hell have I ever been late to anything? Nothing gets me angrier than people who show up late.

The only things that will make us late are a track fire or a transit strike.

You were late to the 2003 draft. Some sort of subway issue.

That's because Tom was drunk and got into a fight with a guy who wouldn't stand clear of the closing doors. I will not allow that to happen this year.

I was not late. I beat the time we were told to be there. For me, I was late, though.
That was an anti-war hippie zealot. He deserved me shoving him off the train (which I believe got me smacked by his smelly girlfriend)

I am always late, but I have somehow managed to arrive at the draft on time for the past 2 years. Amazingly, on both occasions, I was not the last person to show up! Perhaps I realize exactly how important this is to TJ, despite the fact that the importance of timeliness is completely beyond my comprehension. Speaking of being late, I am thinking of staying at Dave's and taking the train, although I think it even adds an extra half hour to the trip if I leave from Wyandanch... So how do I negotiate this odd division of the MTA which does not accept metro cards and runs trains based on some sort of arbitrary designated list of times, rather than logical 5 or 10 minute intervals? Seriously, though, how does one get to the bar from the 1/2/3/9 or the A/C/E?

I might be late.
Seriously.
I am coming back from vacation the night before.

Sigh.
How late is late? We have reasons for wanting to start this when we are, and 10 others planning to be there on time. Please do your best to be there for noon.

If starting at 1pm is better for Suzy or anyone else, I am in favor of it!
An 11:03 train sounds much better than a 10:03 train...

Thats not the plan. And this league has made a habit of not working around what one person needs at the expense of the other 10.
A few of us will be there shortly after 11, as we have arranged with the bar staff. Pretty much everyone else has confirmed they will be there by noon. We plan on starting the draft shortly after 12 noon. From the VERY FIRST EMAIL regarding the league, sent out in early January, we were touting a noon start. 1PM, at this stage of the game, - not happening. Show up at 1, you'll be making your first pick when everyone else is making their 7th.

Oh, settle down. I'll be there, and to my own horror, I may even leave an hour earlier than necessary, in order to take my very first ride on the Long Island Railroad.

I'll be going to my parent's straight from the airport. My goal is to make the 10:35 #4 train at Woodlawn. If I catch a train later than that, I will make sure to let someone know.

I still have yet to take my first ride on the LIRR.
