First off, allow me to say, GAY! Secondly, I am holding on to him. Either they wake up and put him back where he belongs, or he is closing for the Phils sooner rather than later. Obviously he moves to my bench as of this weekend. But, from a real-life baseball standpoint, this is so stupid. Such a waste. Obstensibly to improve the bullpen, but there may be more to the story.
Obviously it does not help matters around The High Hard Ones. But I have a bunch of guys to pick from as replacements, but I am not happy about it, and it wont be a good thing for me.

I also have Kyle Lohse, and some choices on the wire. I am not all too worried about where it puts my team today, to be quite honest with you.

He is not going to be closing for the Phillies .... they allready got a closer and pretty good one .... what they need is to give Gordon some leads so he could close some games.....
You see when Jorge Julio got traded you made some dumb statement like " You picked the wrong guy, Jorge Julio is going to be Fla closer" .... well I couldn't have predicted about the trade when we drafted and also my reply was "Jorge Julio will not be the closer in 2 weeks"
Well Tom I was right ..... that bum didn't last 2 weeks... unfortunately Fla didn't give the closer job to my guy so it was all for nothing......

funny thing. i opted to pass on tankersly with my 25th pick since he wasnt named closer yet and i took hermanson 25th instead who was slated for closer but didnt even make cincys roster. well, when i heard julio got traded i said, what did it matter anyway. well, it did. anyway, the answer to the high hard ones is freddy garcia. but dont think he will come cheap, mr sheriff. lol.

Not interested in Freddy Garcia. He has lost a few mphs on his fastball, he is not the same guy. And he was never great shakes in my eyes. Trust me, I will be fine. On a personal level, Myers is one of my favorite players in the game so outside of the fantasy aspect I am flabbergasted. Its a supreme waste of talent.
And he IS being groomed to close, according to pundits in the Philly media and the blogosphere. Dont make me laugh in regards to Gordon. The Phillies were already subject to chuckles for handing him that job in the first place. Myers may not be an ace but he fits the closer profile to a T. He would get by on his blazing stuff alone, and he is one the most bulldog tenacious fellows in the game. There is no way Philly is going to waste him in a setup role at this stage of his development.
As to the Marlin closer situation, no one is going to step in and hold that job. Closer by committee, which works for them with that stable of arms. And even if someone does take the job, who cares?

Fantastic! Please step aside, I need room to do a cartwheel! Myers had been a bullpen baron.
