Can someone explain to me what the hell Capone did today?
He dropped Emil Brown & Josh Bard He added Bandon Inge Balls put Josh Bard back on his team He added José Guillén
It looks like Hank Blalock went on the DL a couple of days ago, and benefit of the doubt, Yahoo may not have gotten the little red DL on until last night or today, but I still cannot sort out the transactions.
Not for nothing, but this is the second time Capone has done this multiple transaction thing, without posting an explanation.

Yeah, Balls, what the fuck is going on here? Obviously you are involved, cause you put someone back on his roster. Do you mind explaining this? And why didnt you do so when you interjected yourself into the mix?

I explained it a bit on the Yahoo board. Basically, he wasn't online for a few days. He had some DL moves which per league rules, he had to make.
He dropped 2 people which wasn't necessary. It also set him up to make 2 transactions which obviously is a no no.
So I basically walked him through what had to be done to clean up his team, which started with putting the guy back on his team.
It's all fixed now.

I don't remember which guy got injured when. But there was an open DL spot that had to be filled. He shouldn't have dropped the second guy. That was pretty clear. Capone is in a unique position that he has more DL guys than DL spots. That never happened before.
Howard was eventually moved off the DL, since he is expected back very soon, and that filled one of his 2 open slots. So he had one open spot. It was filled.
The bottom line was that when the dust settled, he had 25 active guys as he was supposed to have.

This started on the Yahoo board... I am a little pissed that Balls got snappy with me for questioning a transaction that was out of the ordinary.
Why exactly do the majority of the members of this league routinely post explanations of their transactions?
Please correct me if I am wrong, but it is my understanding that everyone in the league has the right to know what is going on with any transaction outside of a simple weekly move.
I'd also like clarification on the change to the DL rules. If you drop someone because a player was activated, and then, within hours, a new player goes on the DL, you have to take your dropped player back???
That is malarky.

Why do you think that's malarky? It's a perfect way to stop game playing. You could say you didn't know, and really be pulling the phantom second transaction.

I'm with Balls. The right decision was made here. If anything, Balls was more vigilant and attentive than he usually is, and deserves the credit.
Laura, stop trying to stir up trouble to deflect the fact that your team is in last place, and because you are mad we wont change the day lineups need to be in.

i agree with laura. malarky. this is overkill. no one is pulling fast ones here. just the commish and the founder and paranoid.

Blame the rest of the league for any suspected paranoia. There have, this year, been multiple instances where people were caught in wrongdoing, which too often pointed to blatant disregard of the rules rather than ignorance.
There have also been allegations of collusion revolving around ridicuously one-sided trade attempts. A few people in this league who can no longer be trusted ruined a few things for others. Now everyone is being watched.
Next year a couple of people will be asked to take their business elsewhere, and hopefully things will go back to normal and we can simply police ourselves. For now, its more hands-on.
Thats my statement, if you wish to discuss it email me cause i wont make a public display out of this.

Give credit to Jose too. He did not want to run afoul of league rules and made it a point to ask before acting.

Well, if people explained their transactions in detail on the Yahoo board, like those of us who know the rules and abide by them have been doing for the duration of my tenure in this league, than this malarky would not be going on.
People who specify what they are doing are obviously not trying to pull some shit.

True, though they could be mistaken as well. Sometimes people make honest mistakes.
We do the best we can with what the rules are. The only true way to prevent cheating is to allow infinite transactions no matter what.
It's long been established that we will not be seeing that change.

Just for the record I couldn't explain the transaction because I didn't know what the ruling was going to be on it... so I called balls and once Tom made the decision (wrong one by the way?) then balls made the transaction.

I don't think it was the wrong call there. I think it was the fairest decision under the circumstances.

I think regardless of whether the DL was there that morning, it's probably for the best that this become the rule. If within the same day a guy goes on the DL, you have to do a switch, and if you drop someone early, you just grab that person back. It's not perfect, but if we are going to keep limiting the add/drops to 1 per week, it's necessary to avoid and end run.
