So we're into the 8th session now. All-Star Break time. The defending champ is starting to make a move. After all the talk, he's actually starting to walk the walk, just a few points out of second.
Meanwhile, Suzy's lead has been cut to 600 points, down from a season high of about 700. Will someone make a run at the leader, or will the first half lead be enough to last?
Will Laura get out of the basement? She had the momentum to do so going into the break, but will the layoff stall her team's valiant comeback?
Anyway, here are the session standings, which will hold true until the break is over.
Jose--68 Pops--50 Evan--59 Larry--34 Laura--32 Capone--31 Neil--29 Knoblauch--26 Suzy--25 Tom--21 Justin--16 Milton--6

I wish we had kicked back up my idea of side-bets based on the all-star game. All of us are very well represented in the All-Star game. We should have kept point totals for our own players after throwing $5-$10 each into a pot, and the guy/girl whose team scores the most points out of this "exhibition game" would see the manager of said guys take the pot. Used to do this in another fantasy league, and it was good times, but a bunch of killjoys in this league shot the idea down in flames a few years ago.

Tom, put it into effect for next year. 10 / pot... sweeter payoff.

By definition, a side bet doesn't require league approval.
Anyone who wants to bet on anything on the side is welcome to do so.

Yeah, i would never make it a league requirement, nor collect for it at the draft except for on an informal basis. But sidebets are encouraged. Problem is, game is tonight, and I have not reviewed the rosters at all. To be honest, I am more interested in the minor-league all-star games, and watch more of those, than tonights exhibition.

And after the all star break, we have some interesting changes in the standings. Evan is actually leading the session, though Laura is still struggling to get out of last. Larry has made up 100 points on Suzy. A lead that was once over 700 points is now under 500. There's a lot of season left.
Evan--273.67 Larry--250.67 Neil--219.67 Laura--218 Pops--213.67 Knoblauch--198.67 Jose--177.67 Capone--174.67 Milton--161.33 Tom--157.33 Suzy--147.33 Justin--118.67

Good session so far, with Evan and Larry duking it out for the top spot. The two are now 3 points apart. Both Evan and Larry are having a very clutch session. Laura had really been threatening to climb out of the basement, and Larry has once again cut into Suzy's lead hard, breaking the 450 point barrier. Still a VERY comfortable lead for Suzy, but at the same time, much smaller than it had been.
Two years ago, Larry gave us a fantasy baseball version of the Yankees 1998 season. Could he be using the 2007 season to give us a fantasy baseball version of 1978?
The odds makers in Vegas still favor Suzy, but at least the last couple of weeks have started to make it interesting again.
Evan--315.67 Larry--312.67 Knoblauch--248.67 Neil--242.67 Pops--242.67 Jose--229.33 Laura--226.67 Milton--222.33 Capone--212.67 Tom--187.33 Suzy--172.33 Justin--163.67

Though preseason favorite Larry didn't gain much ground on Suzy, he still gained a few more points, once again raising questions from around the baseball world as to whether a 78 style comeback is in the works.
Meanwhile, Evan scored exactly one point less than Larry, cutting his 3 point lead down to 2. Plenty of session time to go, so who will emerge victorious. Tom came in second in 2005.
Evan--348.67 Larry--346.67 Knoblauch--280.67 Jose--275 Capone--272.67 Pops--270.67 Neil--268.67 Milton--251.33 Laura--238.33 Tom--229.33 Justin--205.67 Suzy--202.33

Evan has now built up a nice lead. Plenty of time for others to catch him, but he's done a solid job of climbing back into this after a pathetic month or so. Laura's hope of catching him is dwindling. Obviously, there's plenty of time left, but this is turning out to be a major cocktease on Laura. Evan is getting closer to 10th place right now.
Evan--412.67 Larry--373.67 Jose--322 Knoblauch--317.67 Neil--312 Capone--310.67 Pops--306.67 Milton--285.33 Laura--279.33 Tom--266.33 Justin--247.67 Suzy--233.33

Final uodate of the session, and very little has changed, except that Larry gained another 24 points on Suzy, cutting her overall lead to 424.67 points.
Evan still controls the session, but it's hardly over. Knoblauch meanwhile, is making a push for third.
Evan--456.33 Larry--416.67 Knoblauch--385.67 Neil--372.67 Pops--355.33 Capone--351.67 Jose--338 Milton--323.33 Laura--310 Tom--296.33 Justin--266.67 Suzy--252.33
