Larry picked a bad time to slump. Suzy has made up a LOT of points on him, extending her lead now closer to 400. What a tease.
Meanwhile, Laura is now almost 400 points out of 11th herself. Evan had the best night as the session begins, with Jose not too far behind.
Evan--93 Jose--81 Pops--77 Justin--67 Suzy--54 Milton--51 Tom--37 Laura--36 Larry--31 Knoblauch--28 Capone--21 Neil--20

Looks to me like Laura gave up. No one can be that much worse than everyone else.

I'd have a little more self-esteem left if I HAD given up. Perhaps I should, since each effort I make to improve the situation appears to have the effect of pouring gasoline on something that is already going down in flames.

So a day after getting ripped by several of her colleagues, Laura's team responds with a whopping 12 points. Laura is now almost 400 points out of 11th. It would take her about 9 days to catch Pops--if he decided to bench all his players.
Evan is in the lead right now for the session, but there's a long way to go, and Suzy's team seems to have awoken from its post-all star break doldrums.
Evan--132.33 Suzy--96 Jose--92.33 Justin--91 Knoblauch--86.67 Pops-83.67 Milton--83 Neil--76.33 Larry--57 Tom--49 Laura--48 Capone--35

Though it's not the biggest act of genius, I will give a little props to Justin for not having Mussina in his lineup and thus avoiding a -17 point start. Mister Softee was on his bench.
Larry, the preseason favorite, had the best night last night, scoring a nice 86 points. But he's going to need a lot more of those to catch Suzy.
Evan is still leading the session. Pops has crossed the 5000 point barrier. To give another perspective--Laura only has 4671 points. At her pace, she's a good 9 days away from that 5000 point mark.
Awful. And speaking of awful--doesn't look like Capone is keeping that momentum from the last session.
Evan--181.67 Pops--146 Larry--143.33 Milton--130 Justin--128.67 Neil--128 Jose--124.33 Suzy--124 Knoblauch--109.67 Tom--101 Laura--94 Capone--77

With Laura so far buried in last place, everyone can breathe a sigh of relief, because they are in no danger of getting the Walkman John treatment. However, it should be noted that league founder Sheriff Tom is now in 11th place. Good thing for him that his sister in law is in last.
Evan is currently in the lead of an increasingingly tight session, with Pops, Larry, and Suzy easily in the mix right now.
Evan--231 Pops--220.33 Larry--211.33 Suzy--201 Neil--176 Justin--175.67 Milton--171.33 Capone--158 Knoblauch--147.33 Jose--134 Laura--144 Tom--128

I by no means have "given up" but my mind has totally been elsewhere. You can see that by my lack of "transactions" week to week. But I am still picking out a lineup and around daily. I did not quit but I have not devoted the time to this I should. I need to turn it on, to fight Jose for that bottle. But I am not chagrined cause I wrote this season off weeks ago.

What a night by Laura last night!!!! 9 whole points!!!!
This session is 5 days old. She is over 100 points behind the session leader. Pops is in 11th place, and she lost 100 points against him in 5 days as well. Evan is clinging to less than a 3 point lead over Pops, with Suzy right there. Justin and Larry are also easily in the mix, as is Neil. Good session.
Evan--257 Pops--254.33 Suzy--244 Justin--223.67 Larry--222 Neil--218 Milton--210.33 Knoblauch--198.33 Tom--190.67 Capone--174 Jose--154.67 Laura--152.67

Jose is having a session for the ages. Too bad it's putrid. He was once in line to finish in the money. Now, he's in fifth.
Capone had a good weekend, and has turned his session around. Unfortunately for him, he was so far behind that he is still not in session contention. However, he has gained 70 points on Knoblauch and is within 100 points of the big money.
Yet so far, this session is all about Pops, who is on a hell of a pace right now. If he keeps this up, he may be threaten the session record. But there's a long way to go.
Pops--457 Evan--397.33 Justin--371.33 Neil--366.33 Larry--356 Suzy--354 Milton--330.33 Capone--327.33 Tom--315.33 Laura--295.67 Knoblauch--257.33 Jose--241

Tom in Marcs defense... Yahoo has not updated the standings yet. They are the ones that are slagging on their duties.

Better late than never--Yahoo finally updated. Pops maintains his session lead, though Suzy and Evan are in contention.
Pops--476 Evan--424.33 Suzy--411 Neil--385.33 Larry--383 Tom--380.33 Justin--380.33 Milton--376.33 Capone--347.67 Laura--315.67 Knoblauch--283.33 Jose--259

Hell of a night for Tom, who finished in second place in 2005. 83 points gets him right back into the swing of things for the session. Meanwhile, Jose is having a horrible session. He went from contending for the money, to 6th place. While this is happening, Knoblauch is having a bad session himself. Capone is now 100 points out of the money thanks to a solid 1 2/3 sessions. Milton is not out of it either, just 5 points behind Capone.
The session currently still belongs to Pops, though his lead is dwindling.
Looks like the excitement in the overalls is for third place. That, and bragging rights.
Pops--507.33 Suzy--485 Tom--463 Evan--455.33 Milton--434.33 Larry--427.33 Neil--419.67 Justin--417 Capone--395.33 Knoblauch--343.33 Laura--338.67 Jose--296.33

They hadn't updated this morning. I'll update tomorrow. They probably have by now, but I'll take care of this in the morning. I forgot because it was a busy day.

So Yahoo did its job this morning, and we have an interesting stat. After all this time, end of August, Tom and Jose are exactly tied in the overall standings. But wait! There's more. Capone and Pops are also EXACTLY tied in the standings. 2 sets of 2 teams are exactly tied after 130 plus games.
Meanwhile, this session can be summed up in one word--Pops.
He's kicking ass, and taking names. There are two days' worth of stats. He may have enough points to win right now, depending on how the others do. But since he isn't sitting his players for the next two nights, it would take a choke that may not be mathematically possible.
Pops--626.33 Tom--541 Suzy--535.67 Evan--528.33 Neil--525.33 Larry--485 Justin--465.67 Milton--458 Capone--452.33 Knoblauch--406.33 Laura--362.67 Jose--372.33

This battle between Jose and I will be interesting to follow the rest of the way through. We have a bottle of booze riding on the outcome. The fact that I am outscoring him by nearly 200 points this session shows the threat is REAL.

Tom gets the hard luck award for his performance in session 11. His 665 point performance was good enough to win 7 of the prior sessions, but not this one. Pops came through with the third highest session total of the year to take the Session 11 crown.
That said, Knoblauch's poor performance has opened third place up to the crowd. Quite a few teams are within striking distance if they finish the final month strong.
A lot of good scores this session. Collectively, it was the highest scoring session of the year.

Well, I am very proud of my squad. 11th place TO 4th place in what, 2 plus weeks? Just a couple of weeks ago you dillholes were shredding me for dangling above nothing but one team for the honors of getting the boot. So I pulled up the bootstraps, and good things are happening for me. Now my goal is to finish in the money - not so unrealistic after all.
