I have a bunch of Pops tales. I'll pop some in and out of here as time goes on. If you have anything about him, bring it on over.
My favorite Pops story, which actually doubles as a Gang Bang Steve story, took place in the cozy confines of the old Jeremys Ale House. It was a sunny afternoon, I think we were fantasy drafting there or something. Pops and Todd came walking on in, all proud of themselves. Somewhere along the line Steve asked Pops if they walked over. Pops was like, "no man, we rode our bikes." Steves eyes popped up and he was like, "cool! You guys ride??" and Pops smiled and said, "Hell yeah, man!"
So they start this avid discussion on bike-riding which made no sense to me. Steve is asking Pops how long he has been riding, and Pops is talking about all this bike trips he has taken, which were oddly enough not too far. I was wondering why Steve was so interested, and why Pops was having so much fun talking about something kind of boring.
Well, here's the thing. For some reason when Steve heard "bikes" he thought motorcycles. It totally went over Pops' head, and he took Steve's exuberance as a testament to his 10-speed bicycle riding skills. These two guys wasted like 10 minutes before I figured out what was going on and quashed it by saying, "uh, he's talking about bicycles. They wheeled them over into the corner by all those unused chairs."
Poor Steve was crushed, and Pops realized his bicycle was not as interesting as he thought it was when Steve still thought it was a motorcycle.
