Obviously, this is going to change, but this has been a remarkably even session so far.
Evan--141 Milton--136.67 Larry--135.33 Suzy--135.33 Capone--130.33 Justin--127.67 Knoblauch--122 Jose--114.67 Pops--107 Tom--104.33 Neil--92.33 John--84

Justin and Larry sprint to the top of the session while Tom is fast becoming a major dud. The preseaon favorite is now in 9th place, and may very well be swallowed up by the 10th and 11th place Suzy and Justin, who are not that far back.
Justin--214.67 Larry--201 Jose--189 Evan--176 Milton--166.67 Suzy--147.33 Knoblauch--144 Capone--142.33 Pops--133 Tom--131.33 Neil--123.33 John--104

I think Balls' preseason pick may be the new jinx!

Not really. Last season's preseason pick finished second, and the last place pick finished in last.

One thing I like about this league's setups is that there is no reason to quit even if your team is lagging in the standings. Right now, the two bottom feeders, Justin & Larry, are neck and neck in the session.
Justin--234.67 Larry--223 Evan--213 Jose--210 Milton--176.67 Suzy--167.33 Pops--164 Knoblauch--164 Capone--161.33 Tom--147.33 Neil--143.33 John--104

Larry, it will be at least the one, and possibly / probably two. And do NOT put him in as an RP when you know he is going to be starting, or you will bring upon a world of hurt.

Larry's lead continues, but it's a tight session. Jose is creeping up on Pops in the overalls.

have joba coming in as a sp
So fucking what? Even the Yankees pretty much acknowledge you wont be seeing him more than 6 innings a pop. And there is still no guarantee he will handle this the way people think. Fact is, he will not be pitching 7 innings of what we saw him pitching 1 inning of. If you would ever bother to visit the Yankee chatter section of this board, you will see all the real concerns outlayed.
And no one is taking Liriano seriously right now. Believe me, I am not losing sleep over Liriano, Pedro, and Joba as an SP.

ok, keep asleep and fall to last. do you really think when joba starts unleashes 2 MORE additional pitches he wont mow down lineups for 7 innings? you are nuts. hes automatic!

Believe me, I am not losing sleep over Liriano, Pedro, and Joba as an SP. pretty funny because im sure no one is losing sleep over your staff either being that both of our pitching staffs post identical 24-26 records. sure liriano may be a year away from being strong enough again. but if its sooner weve all seen what he can do. pedro is pedro. injury prone. but still able to dominate a game when he plays in them. which he will be doing again today. and joba? are you kidding? he WILL DEFINITELY be a lights out starter. you naysayers, who say, yea well, he proved he could setup that might not translate. why not? hes been a starter since forever and only starting relieving in the majors? he IS a starting pitcher YOU IDIOTS! lol. now the ONLY difference between our 24-26 pitching staffs is i have 3 shots in the arm in joba, pedro and liriano, and you dont!!! well....at least you have really good closers. i have kerry wood who is lighting it up this year (stay healthy knock on wood, no pun intended!!!) and troy percival, who you begged me to trade to you before picking up brad lidge. who is the fool now? you must really like my pitching staff. youd trade my staff for yours in a heartbeat right now and you KNOW IT!!! if even only one of those guys "pan out" you will see yourself where i am in no time flat. i think im going to get a bang for my buck on 2 of them. so watch out!!!

hows max scherzer treating you. remember those emails you sent out scathing us for allowing you to use waiver #8 on him. yea, way to waste your waiver priority. just this week you couldve had carlos gonzalez in oakland maybe. or how about last week when guys like clayton kershaw or bartolo colon. but you got max scherzer. nice job!!!

The only way you prove me wrong is when you add the human element to this game. Your own decisions on who to play, and of course who to pick up, could affect how you do, as does injuries of course. Tom got hit hard with Rollins going down for about a month. You had a lousy draft. Pitching is a tough to predict. Hitters are consistent from year to year. It will be cool to revisit this in a few months.

Um...Percival is hurt. Did you miss that one?
Not only did I lose Rollins for a month and change, I had lost Lackey, and didnt have Beckett for nearly a month. I'm in good shape now.
Nothing wrong with Scherzer aside from no spot for him right now. In fact, Scherzer is considered a better pitcher than Ian Kennedy, and in many instances, Phil Hughes. Two guys you would drink cum out of a cup for if they asked.
And no way I would have got Kershaw with the 8th waiver priority - Knoblauch actually got up off his ass for once and picked him with # 1. You can laugh all you want about Scherzer, but the fact that I had to even tell you who he was at that time is kinda sad.
I'll be fine now that Lackey and Beckett are healthy and leading my staff. And dont tell ME about Joba, I was the one throwing a party on the board the MINUTE he was drafted. He is going to be a top starter, of that I am confident. But it will not be this year.

Larry and Pops were clearly not pleased with Jose and yanked him back to second in both the overalls and the session.
The overalls have tightened up. The top 5 teams are within 100 points of each other. The top 3 teams are within 60 points.
The session is a good race too.
Larry-482.33 Jose--465.33 Evan--441 Milton--440.67 Knoblauch--438 Justin--433 Capone--411.33 Neil--402 Pops--377.33 Suzy--370 John--343.67 Tom--335

For the second night in a row, Jose came up small. Larry and Milton are duking it out for the session, with Larry holding a decent, but hardly unbeatable lead.

Congratulations to Larry for winning the session. He and Justin finished 1-2, which could signify that the battle for the basement is going to heat up.
