I asked one of the moderators this via text message earlier, but I wanted to post this on the board.
Jay Bruce: 7 Games .577 BA 1.038 Slugging 3 HR 7 RBI
So...flash in the pan fluke, or will be the real deal?

Well, I don't think he'll hit .577 all season. ;D
He's been a highly touted prospect for quite some time, though. I could see him being the real deal.

He's the real deal, most likely.
Coming into this season he was the universal pick as the top hitting prospect in the minor leagues. The Baseball America folk have been trumpeting his pending arrival for a couple of years now. He has all the tools, and on top of that has the attitude of the perennial gamer.
He's going to be a super-duperstar.

He will be the real deal as long as he is healthy. Imagine when he gets a few years of MLB training under his belt? Holy shit...
