Well, thats the end of that. No more random token appearances backstage or potential as fodder for Rhodes and Dibiase, or a future as GM. Ric Flair and the WWE have parted ways, as Flair has been glum on WWE putting the kibosh on some money-making opportunities he would like to take.
I would imagine that revolves around the convention circuit, and signings and such that are not controlled by the WWE.
Im cool with it, its time.

I guess the WWE wasn't being fair to Flair.

He wont go to TNA. Mark that in stone. He wont wreck his legacy with WWE, that can be a cash cow for him for the rest of his life. Considering his wrestlling days are really behind him, it makes no sense for him to go out to TNA with thier 1.1 ratings and low arena buzz and ppv numbers.
Reason he is doing this is so he can appear at things like this months NWA Convention in the Carolinas where he will make close to $100 an autograph. WWE was putting the kibosh on that sort of opportunity for him. Hell, he had an invite to show up at a ROH show in the city just to shake the hand of a Jap legend on the show, and WWE said no to that too.
Now he can do what he wants. But it wont involve TNA, surely.

I never understood why don't let guys get some extra cash that way. I remember a little show in my high school before I went there, I had to be 11 oe 12, and Rock was there with the IC belt. There's no way he got a big pay day, or WWE, considering my gymnasium wasn't even full, bleachers only. So I don't understand why 10 years ago makes a big difference, especially since Flair isn't even active anymore. I say let him make as much extra cash as he can.
Tom, the new pic is fantastic. I actually got the McMahon-Helmsley era figures recently, the Steph figure is the easily the collest figure I own(yes I still collect in hopes my kid one day will be able to make use of all the money I spent on that shit). When RVD won the title a few years back, that was the first time I marked out since Steph turned heel on Vince. The "wedding" and turn, is to this day, one of my favorite angles ever. The more pics of Steph, the better I say.

WWE sends Cena to places like that, though. Its not about money in that instance, they just want the rub of their champ being around. They dont even do those sorts of high school shows anymore, and those were a carryover from the days of Vince Sr.
WWE is just way protective of their people, and want to be very controlling. Hell, even when I met Flair to have my book signed, there was a whole army of WWE suits on hand to have things done the way they want.
I actually found a small stash of Steph banners. I will work them in in time.

It gets better and better for the Nature Boy. His wife has filed for divorce. That didnt take long. This will be Flair's 3rd divorce.

I wonder if she will wish him well in his future endeavors (I figured I'd beat Balls to it)......

Well, there goes that. In the last week it came back that Flair was practically begging to be put back to work. Wants to wrestle, and wants to wrestle full time. Simply wanted the go-head from WWE, and HBK. Well, after last night, where he ran in to help Batista fend off an attack from Legacy, looks like he may have got his wish.
I hate it. Im so done with Flair. I also think it tarnishes a Hell of a send-off. Who knows, maybe this will NOT lead to him back in the ring. But all signs sure point that way....tune in tonight on Raw, for the answers!

Of course it tarnishes the sendoff.
I'm indifferent.

The only thing that surprised me on this is that it took so long. I can't imagine a scenario where Flair damages his legacy as one of the best (if not the best) of all time.
It reminds me of going to a fariwell tour for Ozzy Osbourne in 1992.

Yeah it tarnishes the send off but that already happened and is in the past....I love Naitch so though I am in the minority I am always happen to see him on the show in some capacity though I would rather it in a non wrestling capacity these days....

Flair as a manager could work, too bad they hate managers nowadays.

But Flair does not WANT to manage. He does not want to do anything outside of wrestle. He was offered $250,000 per year to be the "commissioner of one of the shows" and said no thank you.
This is about him wanting to wrestle. Wether or not the WWE takes him up on it -
Yes, Tommy Rich indeed. Tommy Rich is my all-time favorite wrestler and I cant say that enough.

So, is Flair gonna be at ROH next week in Manhattan or not? The ROH site is still advertising him and I find it hard to believe that it's only a week away and they still have his name all over the place even doing an autograph signing before the card.

No, absolutely not - he is completely done with ROH.
I am even more surprised than you are that he is still being advertised. Flair himself was at the ROH show this weekend saying goodbye.

Joe T, its since been reported - and confirmed - Flair will be making ALL his ROH appearances through July, including his gig as ref at the ROH show in NYC on June 13th.
He wont be doing any more tapings for HDTV, but he is indeed filling the upcoming dates before he parts ways with ROH completely. Sorry to post otherwise earlier.
