Although word out of the Observer recently, which made its way to this board, had Christian re-upping with TNA, now it appears that may not be the case. More than one good source is reporting its likely he will be WWE bound sometime after his contract expires next month.
He lost to Booker last night at the PPV, forcing him to join the Main Event Mafia. Should be easy enough, if he is indeed finishing up, to run an angle from it (a beatdown, loser leave town, quitting) to dissapear.
I know James and I have been hot for this rumor, we want Christian back in the fed. So does my wife. Apparently Edge is ready to return, but they are not rushing him back. Maybe cause they want to pair him and Christian up, and are waiting for him to be free.

Well I heard Edge is coming back at Survivor Series, he said a month or so back that it's a likely time for him to come back, but with Cena getting a title shot his first match back at the same PPV, I doubt they will do two comebacks in one night. I really hope he comes back, they said last night at Turning Point he's going to be 35, it'd be cool to get back with Edge for a time, head to Raw and go for the World Title, wrap up his carreer in WWE, he's at a point he won't be lost in the shuffle like he was then. Another cool thing would be him and Jericho getting mixed up somehow, I really enjoyed them together too.

I only watched TNA for about 6 months or so, but Christian was great there. I would love to see him back in the WWE. But while he and Edge would be awesome pairing up again, Christian works great on his own too. Not sure he should step back into Edge's shadow.

Gotta disagree on one point, Christian is not better than Edge. Edge is way better on the stick, but not by much. In the ring, it's close but I still give the nod to Edge. He had some great matches with Taker, and I don't think Christian could pull that off. Not to say he'd have a bad match with Taker, but not on the level Edge had. Edge is one of the most over guys in the business, he gets crazy ass heat, and as much as I hate agreeing with Balls, he was in Edge's shadow. He can't be better if he's in someones shadow. If he was better he would have gotten pushed further and earlier than Edge. But Edge is one of those guys who can has a great look to his character and has the goods to get it done with anyone in the ring, bigger or smaller, Christian isn't as adaptable.
Balls, give TNA another shot, you're missing out, they got a great storyline of the TNA Originals vs the guys who were brought in(The Main Event Mafia). It's worth watching just to see Scott Steiner stammering through a promo, that mush mouthed, pudding head. And Booker is a fucking riot, laugh out loud moments every week. His best promo was when Nash get talking about how Samoa Joe has no respect and he said it like 5 times, and every time Nash said it, Booker in the backround would just yell,"RESPECT"! I still haven't deleted it from my DVR yet it's so fucking funny. And finally, they are doing something with MCMG. Instead of just having them be glorified jobbers, they finally gave them a direction. You're missing out.
Dana, don't hurt Christian, please?

It's hard to say who is better between Edge and Christian. I think when you hit a certain level, you're there and it doesn't matter much. I think both Edge and Christian are at that final level of greatness. I guess if I had to choose who was the better of the two, I would pick Edge, but I agree that it would not be by that much.
Christian did far more good for himself in TNA than he ever did in WWE, and it would be great if the WWE lets him return at that top level, rather than the high mid carder level he was at when he left (if you could even classify him as that).
Christian belongs with the top guys, especially after his time in TNA. He's the guy that would make a great stable leader.
The problem with TNA is that when it went to 2 hours, I really had enough wrestling on my plate. 4 hours of muddling through Raw and Smackdown are a lot, and adding another 2 hours is more than I simply want to devote to wrestling, even with my fastforward method of watching. Hell, Smackdown gets deleted from the DVR at least once a month.
But I'll take your word that TNA is good. I didn't stop watching because I didn't like it, like ECW. I can't stand Scott Steiner. But Booker is the man, and it doesn't surprise me that he's kicking ass in the promos there.

Yeah, I think out of the year and a half, two years I've been watching this is by far the best, they seem to be hitting their stride, although there are still many flaws in the booking choices. During the live show, they had an oppritunity to have a stellar X Division Title match between Sheik Abdul Bashir(Daivari in WWE) and Jay Lethal, a great spot to showcase how much more talented their roster is than WWEs and they had the match barely go a minute. But it has it pluses and to me, they far outweigh the minuses.
I hate Steiner too, but fuck is it funny to listen to him try and get through a promo. He repeats himself at least four times in the promo, it's hysterical.
That said, Christian going back to WWE hurts TNA greatly. They have him set up as a tweener now, he's all about himself, but the MEM wants him and the TNA Originals want him to help, and Booker beating him makes him join the Mafia. So if he leaves, they have to just drop an otherwise great role. But I don't see him going back to WWE if he thinks he'll be lost in the shuffle. I also don't think it'll happen, he was really over towards the end of his WWE run, and it carried over to TNA and helped him win two world titles. I could see him reuniting for a little bit with Edge, but eventually it'll turn into a once-in-a-while reunion like a DX or Hardy Boys. I could see him being on Raw, if he's on SD, he's going to be squashed by HHH, a guy like him would be great on Raw. He could feud with Orton, Punk, Jerichio again, Batista, the Priceless team, Cena, he could be a huge fixture in the IC or World Title picture.
I just think, like you said, he hit a level of success that like an athlete in baseball or hockey, it'll be cool to see him go back and wrap up his carreer in WWE. I mean TNA pushed him so hard so fast, if not for the Main Event Mafia he wouldn't be doing anything. He's already done programs with Angle, Book, AJ, Joe, etc., I think with some of the new guys they've been working on getting over in WWE, he'd have a great bunch of guys to work with and that might be a huge factor in swaying him.

First off, in all due respect, Edge blows Christian out of the water. Dont get me wrong, Christian is great fun, but Edge is on a whole different level. No way Christian will EVER get the pops Edge gets, no way. Edge is a better wrestler, and a better promo. Christian plays a wise-ass better, but lets give Edge his due. He is one of the best in the business PERIOD.
This said, Christian to WWE is NOT a done deal. In fact, some think the talk of it is a swerve. In fact, it was even mentioned by the rest of the Main Event Mafia during a promo last night, apparently. Would they really mention it if its set in stone?
The main thing keeping Christan out of the WWE is the travel schedule. Right now he makes good money working 5-7 days a month, and half the time working miles from home. In the WWE, it matters now who you are or what you want, you are working double that or more, flying all over the world.
At the same time, more money. But also more expenses.
The fans want it, in a Torch poll it was running 90% - 10% for him to go back to the WWE as the smart career decision. But Torch readers dont decide this stuff.
But again, Christian is great, one of my faves, I hope he goes back to the WWE. But that is as much as I miss guys jumping back and forth as how much better he may be there. But dont, dont, compare him to Edge. Edge is better.

Edge isn't even at the half way point for career world titles, he's far and away better than a lot of the guys out there, period. If I'm not mistaken, he's up there with longest tenured guys in WWE, the others of course being Taker, Michaels, HHH, and then Edge. That's good group of guys to be mentioned with.

I don't think that anyone would say that Christian is better than Edge, and the comments were not meant as a knock on Edge, but more of a praise for Christian.
I guess there are pros and cons to TNA and the WWE.

Tomko has signed with WWE according to Dave Meltzer. Read it on prowrestling.net
If Christian resigns, it will be interesting to see if they stick those two together again. Maybe this is going to make Christians decision easier, I can only hope.

Haven't watched much TNA obviously--how has Tomko been lately? Still Christian's lackey? Any mic skills?

Tomko was solid in this last TNA run. Fans wanted to like him too, as he was morphing into a badass face character before they inexplicably turned him back heel. He's solid in the ring, has a very good look, and I thought he was a decent promo.
Id rather see Christian paired with Edge than Tomko, though, but I am glad Tomko is coming back around.

There is a lot of possibilities with Tomko signing. Christian could feud with Edge, Tomko, or Jericho. Or he could team with any of them. And he's proven he can do main even matches, a feud with or against say Jericho, Cena, Orton, HBK, Hardy, Edge, HHH, Batista etc. He's a versatile guy, and while I would want to see a E&C reunion, maybe even possibly a feud with DX after Mania, he could easily mesh well with any of the top guys.

An Edge & Christian reunion would be awesome, but it would have to be done down the road, and DX style. When HBK and HHH team, it doesn't threaten their main event status, or their status separate from each other. I think that's due to the fact that both managed to climb the ladder and be main eventers in their own right, with or without each other.
Christian hasn't done any main eventing on his own in the WWE. He would have to establish that for a decent amount of time before teaming with Edge. If he doesn't, he becomes an Edge lackey, and he's beyond that now.
