So Linda McMahon is running for US Senate in Connecticut as a Republican.
The good news? In a one on one matchup with Incumbent Senator Chris Dodd, McMahon actually LEADS by 6 points.
The bad news? Senator Dodd announced today he is not seeking reelection.
I also don't know if McMahon is going to get the nomination as there is another strong Republican candidate--former GOP US Representative Rob Simmons.
When asked about McMahon's poll numbers, Simmons simply said, "DAMN!"

Balls, you missed a lot of the story, Dodd was replaced and the new candidate is going to slaughter McMahon. Sincere thanks to www.pwtorch.com and columnist James Caldwell for this. Subscribe for under $10 a month and I would not have to do this here and there. WWE News: More evidence former WWE CEO Linda McMahon's Senate campaign dealt serious blowJan 6, 2010 - -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- By James Caldwell, Torch assistant editor Hard evidence was released today supporting the conclusion that former WWE CEO Linda McMahon will have a very difficult time winning the Senate seat in Connecticut following current Senator Chris Dodd dropping out of the race to be replaced by State Attorney General Richard Blumenthal.
A poll released today by Public Policy Polling (worth noting a Democratic polling service) shows Blumenthal leads McMahon 60 to 28 percent in a hypothetical race for Senator. The poll was conducted prior to the news of Dodd dropping out and Blumenthal expected to replace him.
Prior to this morning's news that Dodd was dropping out, McMahon was tied with Dodd at 43 percent in a recent poll. Based on the math in-play, Blumenthal replacing Dodd has a 15 percent negative effect on McMahon's Senate chances.
McMahon's Republican opponent, Rob Simmons, was ahead of Dodd 44 to 40 percent. In the same hypothetical poll against Blumenthal, Simmons trails 59 to 28 percent.
McMahon seems to be facing long odds with the sudden news of Blumenthal replacing Dodd, but her spokesman maintained a position that McMahon can out-campaign any opponent.
"Linda McMahon's appeal in this race from day one has been that she's an outsider with real world experience at a time when it's clear Washington has lost its way and career politicians just don't get it. None of that changes. Linda is committed to winning in November," said McMahon's spokesman, Ed Patru.

First, if the poll isn't done by Rasmussen, it's shit. But that said, I don't think McMahon will get the nomination.
