I've been so busy with work and umpiring, that I have been unable to get any of these done. So unless someone steps up to the plate there won't be any awards or team name plaque for the cup this year.

Can't the name plate thing at least be done after the fact when the summer is over?

Sigh. Yet some more bleacher traditions fade away.

I know, I usually have no problems with this, but I was awarded the chance to umpire in the Yonkers Little League World Series Tournament and really couldn't turn it down.

I don't know if it's possible on such short notice. I have a trophy store near me, but it's expensive. That's where I got the Ali Ramirez plaque. I don't know if they can get this done in time. That's also the only store I know of.

As I asked earlier, can't the name plate just wait until a place can be found where it will be fitted correctly and is reasonably priced? Hell, you probably save a little money having just one plate done instead of four.

From what I understand, the cup is NOT missing....but the person who currrently has it will not be in attendance Saturday, nor will the cup.

The cup is not missing, and will be at the game on Saturday. Fear not. I'm looking to get the dimensions of the name plates. I don't know if I can get them that fast. I don't know of a cheap trophy store. I only know the one where I got the Ali plaque made.
If someone else wants to run with it, please do.

Unfortunately, I only know of one trophy store. They want to charge $6 for the medals, so I didn't go for it, since Anthony says they should be $2 each.
I don't know of another trophy store that is lower end for our purposes. Does anyone else? We need to act fast.

$2 each sounds unrealistic. Did Baloo have an in with someone?
At this point, honestly, I say forget it and lets just concern ourselves with the business at hand. Make it about the GAMES again. Baloo did a Hell of a job with this stuff over the years, no one will be able to replicate it.

It's always about the games.
The trophy store did say that there are places that cheap, but he's not one of them. Baloo just has a good store.
He recommended a place called Crown Trophy, but that's on 7 E 38th Street in Manhattan, and I just don't have the time to get there today. I can try tomorrow, but that's cutting it very close.

dude, the thing is lost...somewhere between here and Greece. Tone texted me and said it's in a cargo hold and could be destroyed within 20 days if nobody claims it. Trouble is, he can't prove it's his.

Wait a minute....if Tone shipped the thing DHL, then he had to make waybill for it, right. And on that waybill would be his (the sender's) information. Isn't is mandatory to put a contact phone number for the recipient, too? So unless, the malaka has no ID, I say this is all BS to work up Larry and Mike into a frenzy.....
And since when do they destroy stuff within 20 days?
Justin, this is your field, and insights?

We don't need any medals. How about we use the money we would spend on medals on beer?

Yeah but I think the trouble is that he sent it from a family business on his greek Island (so he wouldnt have to pay for it) and his name wasn't on the waybill.

People will drink beer no matter what. Then they will pee it out or store it in their respective guts. The medals are a nice individual keepsake.

The only accomplishment a beer belly represents is a lifetime of beer drinking. And no one can beat Tom's life of leisure trophy.
