This is a rumor that will not go away. It started when someone started sending out a doctored poster for Survivor Series with the DX logo spray-painted over the NWO logo. Even after the poster was decried as an obvious fake, wheels went into motion out in the back. Perfect setting...Vince is at wits end. He can not do away with DX no matter what he does. He can bring in the NWO to do his dirty work for him, insuring they are the heels. In another scenario, the NWO can simply come in, led by the missing Eric Bischoff (who, cooincidentally enough, has a book coming out in the next month or so) Nash is free from his TNA obligations. Sure, he sucks in the ring, but he is witty and still casts an imposing figure. Working with his buddies HHH and HBK will hide a lot of his shortcomings. Hall, who had pretty much been missing (Nash had claimed a couple of weeks ago they had not spoken in over a year and he had no idea where he was) has resurfaced. In fact, he just conducted a 3 hour interview with Wade Keller from the PWTORCH this week. If X-Pac can get out his silly MTV wrestling contract, he could come to either side. At the worst, you can have Nash and Hall vs. HBK and HHH. I dont see Hogan being involved, if this happens, although there is heat they can build this up with between he and the DX boys. There ARE internal talks in the WWE about doing this DX/NWO thing. Some fan on a message board had the best idea....during a DX/NWO battle, the "new" Four Horsemen storm the ring. Ric Flair, the returning Chris Benoit (he is already back doing house shows), Arn as an advisor, and you pick the other two. It would all be so fun, but I am afraid it wont happen.

DX v. nWo could be interesting for a time, but I agree that Hogan shouldn't be involved. Classic Hogan is really all he should do now, when we get those occasional appearances.
DX and nWo should be limited to the Kliq or of course Road Dogg and Billy Gunn should they ever return.
I don't know if the Horsemen could ever truly work again.

Dogg and Billy will never be back with the WWE. They burned that bridge, and they no longer get along with HHH. You dont get along with HHH, you dont come back.
The Horsemen could work with Flair and Arn mentoring a new breed of Horsemen, anchored by Benoit. Someone like a Shelton Benjamin would be a good start.
But the Horsemen stuff is simply someones whim. The NWO/DX stuff is close to being reality.

Benjamin's a great wrestler, but I don't know if he works for me as a Horseman type. The problem is some people who would be perfect for the gimmick wouldn't need the gimmick. Randy Orton would be very good as a Horseman. So would the Masterpiece. Chris Masters must be a putz behind the scenes.

Orton would be a terrible Horseman. The Horsemen never had a glory boy like that, who drips charisma like that. The Horsemen are about business, thus Benjamin. Randy Orton types are not fit for groups, thus the boot from Evolution.
Guys like Arn and Tully were workmenlike grapplers, not prima donnas in the Orton sense. Masters could fill the Sid/Mongo " bruiser" role.

I'd definitely like to see Masters get a better push. When I think of the Horsemen, I just think about kicking ass and having each others' backs. Benjamin's style just doesn't really work for me. But he is talented enough to adapt. I'd have to think a little to round out the four.

Horseman shit won't work, one faction at a time. They'd really need to extend this longer if they wanted a horseen.
DX/nWo would be alright, but it's werid they're doing a hell in a cell and want to extend the angle after unforgiven.

Enough with the Horsemen stuff, I just threw that in as an aside as I enjoyed someones take on it. I should not have bothered as its getting in the way of the clearer picture.
I dont mind the angle being extended a little bit if the McMahons back off. Also, a lot of what DX has been doing has been corny, but they showed some fire this past week beating up all of those security guards. They got serious. A feud with the NWO would be a sufficient reason to extend this to me.

I really dont think this would work, as it all it is is re hashing old 90s gimmicks.is there any creative minds out there in the E? but if this were to go down , W/O Hogan, i dont think I'd like it cause the nWo Hogan was my favorite verson of hulk.assuming this goes through what does it come down to?DX being HHH and HBK vs Hall , Nash And X pac as nWo?it's the fuckin click having their dream match.all i can see coming out of that is a bunch of bad jokes

Bottom line is I would rather see HHH and HBK battling Hall and Nash than battling Vince and Shane.
And the bottom line is popping buyrates and selling merch. And you know this would do both.

True, But between this and "ECW" all vince is doing is recycling the 90s.it'll pop the Buyrates sure, but dosent anybody want to try anything new?

Considering the old stuff is doing what the new stuff wasnt in terms of kicking up interest, there is a reason not to try anything new. Its not like TNA going with Jarrett and Sting, THAT is something people are tired with. A lot of what the WWE is bringing back is something fans want to see, and you cant fault them for that.

I think it would make for a fun angle, and I hope they don't drop the ball like they did with the Invasion angle.

X Pac was at a WWE house show in Tampa over the weekend appearing with DX. Possible return, maybe into DX looming.

Yeah, but it was not so much an Invasion as everyone knew that WCW as it was known was folding, and Vince was simply cherrypicking talent without breaking his bank. It was all very dissapointing, but as I am moving through my tapes I cant wait to get to that era to see this again. I watched the Buff Bagwell/Booker T match on Raw that was essentially the first WCW match on their program, and was bad enough to cost Buff his job and have the WWE rethink the whole thing.

I just remember when the graphic on wwf.com was:
"WWF purchases WCW" or something along those lines...gave me chills. There was so much anticipation...And then the whole angle was so bad...until they came up with the ECW angle...and promptly ruined that too. Although, all this talk is making me want to go back to my old tapes too.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Vince and Stephanie McMahon have decided to go "full stream" with DX, and despite complaints that DX has run its course, WWE has no plans to drop it. Regarding new members, believe it or not, McMahon was interested in bringing back the Road Dogg and Billy Gunn earlier this summer. McMahon and Triple H hadn't heard the interviews where the TNA duo ripped Triple H, and when McMahon and Triple H found out about it, they decided not to pursue the New Age Outlaws. Triple H had been in favor of bringing back James and Gunn, but when Triple H found out what had been said, he stated that he'd punch out Gunn if he ever saw him again.

Their assholes anyway. Bring back Hall, Nash and the Kid. Go with the nWo thing for Suvivor Series. They way Triple H hulked up at MSG against Vince before losing made me think they're going to go nWo way, but they have to stall because Hogan is a fucking ancient artifact.

Yeah, this is going to happen. Last night was as much a foreshadow as I have seen in wrestling. From many accounts it will be built up as a Wrestlemania dream-match, but i can see them working a feud out of this.

I'm all for it.
As long as they don't bring back the Horsemen, I will be fine with what they take from old WCW. I think Heyman should bring back "The Dangerous Alliance" with Test, Knox, Big Show, Holly and the Basham guards. LOL!

I am starting to really appreciate Holly again. And you know whats funny about him, he was always pretty damn underrated. I watched a match between he and Stone Cold from a 1996 Raw the other night, and it was a GREAT match. Holly always had good matches, even when he was wearing those checkered flag singlets of his.

And he was known as Sparkplug Holly. Even won Tag gold with kid at the 95 runble.
As for the DX/nWo thing, I thought the same thing. When they ran into Bisch, and then HBK even thought about it afterwards even asking HHH. Should be good, hopefully they won't wait too long to introduce the nWo.

To put even more intrigue into this, the WWE renewed the trademark for "NWO" near the end of September.
