Yes, its supposed to be starting up in the next couple of weeks. Premise is girls who have had all kinds of troubles in life will be competing in a "Last Chance" sort of competion, singing.
It'll be on one of those music channels. I am not sure how much of an active role Jericho will have in the show.

Just read the dates of WWE ppvs going into July and this year, Wrestlemania 25 in Houston Texas will be on Sunday April 4th......my birthday. Last time this happened was Mania 9 and it was bad because Hogan won the title, for other reason than he wanted to. And this year, word of mouth says HBK is slated to Wrestle Taker which is a fucking great gift even when Michaels loses. It should be nothing short of a spectacular match. Gonna have a kick ass party and get to see the best WWE show of the year all on the same day? Nice.

Eh, James, HBK wont be wrestling Taker. He's going to be wrestling JBL. They are setting up Mania right now, and those guys are not even on the same show, and HBK is quite busy with his silly angle with JBL.
All the sources I read wrote off the idea of HBK / Taker this Mania, where the Hell are you seeing that?

I saw it mentioned a few times on prowrestling.net. My first thought was that JBL will just pick who he wants HBK to wrestle and would choose Taker. But now, after last week with the announcers going overboard stating numerous times Michaels had sold his soul. That's a phrase saved more for Undertaker, JBL doesn't have the power to own a soul. They can do the pay off with JBL vs HBK anytime, why pass on a big money attraction match like this when both HBK and Taker don't have many more years being able to perform the way they are.
I know you'll just say that's what Vince fed Cole and King through the headsets, and that I'm thinking too much into it, but owning a soul, or fighting for someones soul doesn't fit JBL's character, it does Taker. And if you're making a card, you want a JBL vs HBK at Wrestlemania, a match they can do at Backlash, over a match we haven't seen in almost 10 years? That's exactly why Mania is perfect, they can mix up the brands like that, JBL vs Michaels isn't a Wrestlemania caliber match. And I can't see Shawn going for that if Vince asked him JBL or Taker? It's a way weaker match that can be saved for a weaker show, let two of the best of the past 20 years go at it for 30 minutes at Wrestlemania 25. You'd be crazy to book any other match.

You're wrong, all signs point to Michaels vs JBL.

Well it's a waste, and I know all signs point to it, ever hear of a swerve, it is pro wrestling Sheriff. Why the fuck does JBL have HBKS soul? How the hell does that even make sense to his character? They did an HBK JBL back on Raw I thought and no one cared? Why is that a Wrestlemania caliber worthy match? I'm telling you, they'll fit Taker in somehow. Tack this thread to the top, I'm going to be right.

I heard an ad for some PPV package deal the other day, and they mentioned that we are coming up on the 25th anniversary of wrestlemania.
Holy Crap, I can not believe it has been 25 years. It seems like yesterday when Mr. T and Hulk Hogan teamed up, and Belzer was choked out on Letterman.

What ever happened to Iron Mike Sharpe.
I thought he was a great villain back in the day. He was a total dick and really had no fan appeal.

LOL! I just watched a match that featured Iron Mike Sharpe TODAY.
It was Sharpe and a jobber more nondescript than him (I think it was Van Van Horne) vs Billy Jack Haynes and Ken Patera. Sharpe had the old forearm protector gag going again, the announcers were grumbling about it, even though Patera was also selling an "injury" and wearing one of his own.
Sharpe is still alive, from what I know. People remember him as a jobber to the stars in the WWF for many years, but he had a good career before that. I remember him in Georgia where he was near the top of the card. He comes from a wrestlng family, I remember reading archives about a Mike Sharpe wrestling in the 50s, that was his Pop.

I remember the announcers always moaning about the arm guard.
I want to say that I even saw the thing pop open once, to reveal a sheet of metal underneath.

4Dogg you beat me to it..I was just about to also mention to please reference him as Canada's Greatest Althlete...I have seen him many times at MSG as he challenged for the IC title a few times before he dropped to jobber status....
Nothing better then an opponnent tightening an arm bar on Iron Mike and him yelling at the top of his lings..."No, No, No, No, No!!!!!!!"

I remember one time I went to a WWF card in White Plains. Had good enough seats to get to the railing. Iron Mike was wrestling in the first match, doing his thing. One difference, me and a bunch of other people gave him one of the loudest cheers of the night. It spread a bit and there were a good bunch of people chanting "IRON MIKE! IRON MIKE!"
He really wasn't sure what to make of it. The look of confusion was kind of funny. Eventually, he kind of yelled something about how "these guys know what they're talking about," before jobbing the match.

The amount of good pics of Iron Mike Sharpe out there is not overwhelming.
Also, I was giving some appreciation to Iron Mike Sharpe, not Iron Mike Sharpe's FOREARM PROTECTION.

Funny thing is right now watching the Primetime offering up on 24/7 and it is a "good guy" Ken Patera teaming with Billy Jack Haynes against Iron Mike Sharpe and a jobber (funny hearing the announcer going on about his forearm "protection" calling it an orthopedic brace....it just never gets old).....

While it is understood that Sharpe's forearm protection is not the item of appreciation, that's like throwing up a picture of Mysterio without the mask. Of course, Mysterio wishes he could have the career Sharpe had.

AC/DC To Perform At 'Wrestlemania XXV' In April - Jan. 24, 2009 Ryan Clark of Wrestling-Edge.com reports that during a recent appearance at the 36th annual Global Media and Communications Conference, Linda McMahon — Chief Executive Officer of World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. — announced that rock and roll icons AC/DC will be performing the theme to Wrestlemania XXV, which is scheduled to take place on April 5, 2009 at the Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas.
There's no word yet on what song will be used as the theme.
Linda's husband Vince McMahon, who is the World Wrestling Entertainment Chairman, is said to be a huge fan of AC/DC, getting his first exposure to the band back in 2000 when they were performing on "Saturday Night Live" the night Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson hosted the program for the first time.

Thanks to www.f4wonline.com for this. Last night on ESPN radio in New York, when talking about the Rangers retiring the jersey of Adam Graves, host Brandon Tierney talked about who in MSG history hadn't gotten his jersey retired that deserved to. He brought up Hulk Hogan, saying Hogan did more to make wrestling mainstream than anyone and deserves a ceremony and a star on the MSG Walk of Fame. Vince McMahon is the only wrestling personality with such a star. For the next two hours, nobody called up about Graves, even though the show was about him, and people called up about Hogan. Some argued he shouldn't be honored because wrestling isn't a sport. Tierney said Wrestlemania I changed wrestling and if you weren't at the show you can't understand how ground breaking that was. He's right, by the way. Others said McMahon is the only one who deserves a tar but Tierney said nobody ever sold out MSG just to see McMahon. Well, if that's the qualification, then Bruno Sammartino should go in before Hogan. Others called up saying Ultimate Warrior should go in, and another said Jimmy Snuka and Don Muraco should go in. (thanks to Jonathan D'Antoni)

thanks to www.f4wonline.com for this too - How's this for some unique irony. When the Alex Rodriguez story broke, the anchor on ESPN News reading it was Jonathan Coachman. It was funny watching Coachman editorialize on the improprieties of baseball players using steroids.

From www.f4wonline.com - VERN GAGNE INVOLVED IN NURSING HOME TRAGEDY Verne Gagne, one of the most influential pro wrestlers in history, is alleged to have thrown down 97-year-old Helmut Gutmann, on Jan. 26, breaking his hip and Gutmann later passed away over the weekend.
Both at the time were residing in a facility in Bloomington, MN, which treats patients with Alzheimer's and dementia.
Gagne, a week shy of his 83rd birthday, is believed to have thrown Guttman down hard on the ground, and nobody knows exactly what caused the incident at the memory loss unit. Guttman was at first hospitalized, then released, but his condition deteriorated and he died in hospice care according to an article in the MinnPost.
Gagne is no longer a resident at the facility. The newspaper reported Gagne had been kicked out of the facility due to an incident previously and at the time was allowed to return.
It's a tragic story because Gagne would have absolutely no idea of what he had done. Gutmann's wife Betty said she was notified about what happened in the 1/26 incident and found her husband lying on the floor in tremendous pain.
"You can't blame the person that did it," she said. "(Verne Gagne) doesn't know what he's doing. I feel so sorry for his family, bcause they are faced with a terrible problem of what to do."
The story quoted someone only identified as one of Gagne's daughters, who described it as a personal family matter and that nobody is saying that is the reason the man ended up dying.
Gagne was one of the biggest stars in pro wrestling history. A two-time NCAA champion, who turned down an NFL offer to become a pro wrestler, was United States champion for Fred Kohler's Chicago-based promotion which had national television in the early 50s, making him one of the highest paid athletes in the country during that period.
He later purchased controlling interest in the Minneapolis Boxing and Wrestling Club from Tony Stecher, withdrew the promotion from the National Wrestling Alliance when he was bypassed in the selection of the world heavyweight champion, and created the American Wrestling Association, where he was both promoter and usually top babyface for much of the period from 1960 until his retirement as a full-time wrestler in 1981.
The AWA expanded from Minneapolis throughout the Midwest, and because it was a successful area that paid well, but had a limited schedule, many considered it the promotion where wrestlers had the highest quality of life. The promotion was successful until 1985, when its dated presentation was exposed by Vince McMahon's World Wrestling Federation and Jim Crockett Promotions. The promotion quickly lost its popularity and limped to its death a few years later.
After negotiating a deal to sell his tape collection to McMahon, Gagne was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. He had been suffering for years with Alzheimer's.
