I like it.
Former WWF, WCW & ECW star 2 Cold Scorpio has signed a three year deal with World Wrestling Entertainment recently. It remains to be seen which brand Scorpio will be assigned to.
Scorpio had a tryout match with WWE a few weeks ago facing Rene Dupree in a Dark Match and had been pushed heavily by Booker T backstage to be picked up by the company.
He has remained active on the wrestling scene, becoming a regular for Pro Wrestling NOAH in Japan and had worked a number of independent shows this past summer for IWA Mid-South and Pro Wrestling Unplugged.

I was always a Scorpio fan. I read in the Observer he has put on a good deal of weight, and I am sure he is a bit more sluggish in the ring, but he's a good hand.
Oh, and while this is not the biggest news in the world, just letting ya'll know its cool to start some new threads and there is no need to hide everything in the blanket "WWE, TNA, and ECW" threads.

I like it too. Scoripo could fit in very well with Smackdown and ECW. with all these signings you d think ECW will get a 2nd hour. it would really be a shame to see him be a ECW oringal jobber.how big is 2 cold now? i think hes over the cusierweight limit by now, havent seen him work in a while but i bet he can still go.

I heard Scorpio is still sharp in the ring. He was a top star over on the Japanese circuit, and they have high demand over there. But yeah, all I read is that he gained some poundage, but I have not seen this for myself.
I remember shortly after he joined the Fed, WWF filmed a Shotgun Saturday Night at Penn Station. Scorpio was freshly debuted as Flash Funk...he was not on the show, but he was there hanging out, on the balcony. We were chanting for him all night long, giving him the superstar pop as he waved to us from his perch. Alas, it went over Vince's head although he saw/heard all of this "adulation", and Scorpio/Flash never got the push we were hoping for.

I can see Scorpio in ECW trying to appeal to some of the older "This isn't the old ECW" fans.

Actually he is earmarked for the Smackdown brand, which needs not only an infusion of talent/potential starpower, but a veteran who can help along the youngsters of the roster.

I ALREADY SAID HE IS SMACKDOWN BOUND.
And the guys jobbing in ECW SHOULD be jobbing in ECW. For the most part, they suck.

not all the guys jobbing should be jobbing. the current ECW jobbers/orignals are Danny Doring , Justin Credible, Stevie richards, CW anderson and Al snow. Yes Doring, and Credible suck but Stevie and CW could still have good matches. al snow is just old. but yeah Scoripo should fit in well At SD!

CW looks like crap. He is white as a ghost, thin, and as unintimdating as it gets. I read in the Observer that some of the WWE guys were stunned when he first walked backstage and thought he was a crew member or something. He has the worst wrestling body I have ever seen.

I gotta disagree with you tom, while CW dosent have that ripped look vince and JR likes, he can work good matches. shit, Arn Anderson was NEVER in great shape and yet still was an imposing figure. not saying CW is close to arns's skills in the ring and on the Mic , but you do not have to look like a bodybulder to get over

CW Anderson is a fucking great wrestler. Like Sancho said, he works good. Works hard too. I like his mat skills, and even when he jobbed on ECW on Sci Fi he looked pretty good. Honestly, I'd rather see a wrist lock from CW than another chin lock by Randy Orton.

Yeah, but CW Anderson looks like he should be overseeing some plumbing work. Randy Orton can peek his head out fo the back and get a bigger reaction.

That's not CWs fault, he's had what, one tv match? He works a way better match than Orton any day of the week twice on sunday.

Lets not compare CW to Arn in any way. Arn did not have a "bodybuilder look" by any means, but he was squat and looked powerful. CW looks like a guy stocking shelves in the supermarket. Trevor Murdoch does not have a great body either, nor did Kamala, nor did a whole host of others....but this is different. Samoa Joe is a fat slob but people can easily look beyond that cause big is better. Can you HONESTLY tell us that CW does not have the worst "wrestling" body in the business right now? His body is "turn the channel" bad for most people. You cant market a guy like that.
I too like guys who can wrestle, but there are enough of them out there that you dont need to carry CW Anderson and his whispy Casper the Ghost complexion and his laughable ring physique.

According to one of the websites out there, when Scorpio debuts (with the Smackdown brand, from all accounts) he will be bringing back the ever-popular FLASH FUNK gimmick!

Someone suggested he mise as well team up with MVP.
Interested to get a look at him regardless. He must have put on weight, Meltzer said in the Observer he is starting to "resemble Abdullah the Butcher."
I wonder if he is going to come out with The Funkettes.

That might be funny, now that I think about it, if he comes in wearing his old get up and his belly is hanging out of it.

I really don't like MVP. Annoying and undeserving of the push.

Thats the point of his character. He is a midcard character who is playing a guy who thinks he is a star, tricked Teddy Long into thinking he is a star, and is NOT a star.
No problem with the push, cause you need to push anyone you use on the show. Its not like they are grooming him to headline against Batista at Wrestlemania or anything.

Funny how timing works. As I march through my tape collection in order, last night I was running through some November 96 stuff, and there was a match between Flash Funk and none other than The Goon. Funk had his Funkettes, and they all danced for like 5 minutes before the match. They just would not stop. I forgot how chunky Funk looked even then. The outfit was ridiculous. The flips off the top rope were not. Fun to watch.
