Culled from wrestleview.com, just making the rounds right now....
An insider from MTV is claiming that the decision has been made by the network, to cancel the Wrestling Society X series, according to Dave Scherer of PWInsider.com. The move is believed to have been made earlier today, and was done due to the drop in ratings since its first week.
It is unknown if the six remaining episodes will air on MTV or not. Scherer adds that it's already been stated that the series will be pulled immediately.
Though apparently pulled by MTV, Big Vision Entertainment retains the rights to the promotion, so it is possible that WSX could move the series to a different network or release DVDs, if they decide to continue.
As this news comes from a source from MTV, it is important to remember that at this moment, the network has not made any public indications that WSX is indeed canceled. The series is still listed on the MTV website to air this Tuesday at 10:30PM (Eastern), while clips of WSXtra are still posted as well.
We'll keep you updated when further developments are available.

From the Observer, dated 3/1
Big Vision Entertainment CEO Houston Curtis will make a statement regarding the status and future of WSX by the end of the today tomorrow, 3/2. Today's announcement has been postponed because of MTV being in chaos with 250 people let go last week and another 250 people in the London office let go today.
From all accounts, the show is gone, and thats that. There is talk of releasing whats in the can in a DVD release, with what has already been seen, but many pundits think it will be a LONG time before that sees the light of day.

I would not be so sure of that. He had already been in WWE Developmental, and they let him go cause he was a prick of the highest order. His rep is horrible, and he has been at it a long time now. WWE could have had him anytime.
Old hands like X-pac have a better shot of landing a gig. A lot of the rest of them are internet and indy darlings, its not like they were unknown. And, to be blunt, what was shown on MTV....eh, that wont impress anyone.
I quit after the second episode. When a crazed wrestling fan like me gives up on a wrestling show - this was more like a an episode of Jackass. No thanks.

Tom, curious what would you think of Vampiro possibly in WWE?

I would be all for that. In fact, I should have mentioned his name when I threw X-Pacs out there. I never had a problem with Vampiro...even that graveyard match he had with Sting that Cho hated so much.
But, thing is, Vampiro has his foot in other venues - he does a lot of promoting on his own, and I think he is knee-deep in that. I think his days of working for the big feds are out of question.

MTV has scheduled to run a marathon next week showing unaired episodes of Wrestling Society X, reports Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com. The marathon will air next Tuesday (March 13) beginning at 11pm eastern. Scheduled for the following Tuesday (March 20)at 10:30pm eastern is what is expected to be the series finale of WSX. That episode is to feature an exploding steel cage match.
It is assumed that MTV has decided to air the remaining episodes, only because they are obligated to do so by contract. MTV obviously has chosen to air the episodes and move on as fast as they possibly can.

Yeah, I actually made an executive decision this morning on the train ride in to ignore it, and not bother. Its not really my style. I would rather see the talent there working longer matches, like they do in the Indys, if anything. I wish them well, but this marathon will go on without me.
