WrestleMania 24 venue announced March 21, 2007
At a press conference earlier today, it was announced that WrestleMania 24 will take place at Orlando’s famed Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium, marking just the second time in history that sports-entertainment’s crown jewel will be held at an outdoor venue.
On March 30, 2008, the Citrus Bowl will hold more than 70,000 screaming WWE fans when WrestleMania invades Orlando. Be sure to check back here later today as WWE.com continues to update you on this historic announcement.

Thats funny. When I saw the blurbs yesterday I did not bother to click as I assumed it was an arena, and I was like, "well, thats boring." I had no idea it was going to be in the Citrus Bowl. Love these Stadium shows. Good stuff.

There's definitely a different vibe when the crowd is triple the normal size.

Triple? Try four times.
Even the camera angle is more fun. Apparently though, these shows suck for the people filling up those last rows of seats. Unless you like going to say, "I was there!" you are better off staying at home where you can see without watching it on the scoreboard.

It would almost be comical to be in the Uecker seats.
I also like the outdoor vibe too. It's just different.

Yeah those nosebleeds would suck. I used to see guys at MSG using binoculars in the last eat imagine all the dopes at the outdoor places.
That being said, I think it's an awesome idea. Having seen the last one on tape I can't wait to see a mania outdoors live.

The outdoors part was probably the only good thing about that last outdoors one.
Well, that, and Hogan winning the title.

Yeah those seats would suck..I was in the last row center ring for WM XX in MSG and didn't need binocs for the matches though it is not ideal....I was in Skydome for WM 18 but was probably about the equivalent of the 50 yard line around 20-25 rows up in the lower level and they were decent but still far..I can't imagine being in the upper deck last bunch or rows....unless like said above you just want to say you were there and watch the replay or get the DVD later...

too bad they couldnt bring to the bronx for the last year of the stadium Hey mabey it could still get Summerslam. I remember a bunch of years back WCW wanted to do a Nitro From the Stadium. As for the Citrus Bowl, i've been Reading about it and im hearing its terribbly out dated, in a high Crime Area and most of not all of the seats are Metal benches.not excat;y a Modern venue

There is zero interest from the WWE in holding a PPV in an outdoor Stadium where the weather can go bonkers. Yeah, they may get rain in warm climes, but in New York it could be a real mess. Can you imagine a PPV from New York in pouring rain all day? They cant really risk it. And from what I heard at the time, Sancho, the Yankee Stadium idea was something someone in the office kicked around, and it never got past the "wouldnt that be fun" stage.

Couldn't rain happen in Florida too?
WM could NEVER be in Yankee Stadium though. Too cold that time of year. At BEST you could have KOTR or Summerslam there.

You know its a different situation there. Much less of a chance of a total washout, when it rains it buzzes through fast. And the odds of a long-lasting cloud/rain event are much less. Its just fact.
And stop kicking around ideas for outdoor Stadium cards in New York. I know for fact the WWE has ruled them out for the reasons I said.

That said, yeah...the Citrus Bowl is a complete shithole, but Vince probably took it because the rent was cheap.

Well you just know Hogan will make ammends with the WWE. This is taylor made to be Hogan's final match, he will do anything he can to be at that card.
Orlando is a risk in that it can rain hard for a quick period, but the tickets will be sold long before a weather forecast. An NY summer day can be a total washout which would be disater.
