Sigh. Its many years too late...well, it should not have happened at all, but the cast of Jackass are going to be all over Summerslam. In fact, Steve O is calling it a "main event" slot on his own blog...
Meltzer and other sources have confirmed that the Jackass guys will indeed be involved in a big match at Summerslam....
Cactus James must love this....following is from the blog.
Dumb!
Message From Tampa
I really wasn't that bad last night, well, that's not true. I did a great job shooting my new WWE commercial to promote the WWE Pay Per View Summer Slam, but then everyone got all sorts of uptight as a result of me running around trying to get famous wrestlers to choke me unconcious for my Paparazzi Stuntman dvd (plenty of them were ready to do it, including Umaga, but the suits derailed me). I got a funny call from LA saying, "why are we getting calls that the main event of their WWE Summer Slam may be called off because of you're behaving so badly?"(The whole cast of jackass, minus Weeman, will be in a huge match for the main event). Not bothering with bathrooms had something to do with it to.

And why exactly would I like this? It's fucking sad. But Vince wants to get star power at the four main ppvs, and for the most part they all suck. Some of them serve their purpose which you can't complain about, but this is beyond fucking stupid. The only time I liked a celeb at a ppv was Pam and HBK after he made history in 95, I don't think I have to sort through the details. But yeah, I say this is retarded, I didn't like them on Raw why would I like all of them one a ppv? I won't say I won't laugh, I might, but the pure wrestling fan in me in hates this angle. But lol at "main event", fucking delusional cokehead.

I figured you'd like it cause you're a Jackass mark.
And I do agree, his terminology of "main event" is probably way overdoing it.

this does sound stupid, but i seem to remember Umaga crushing Steve-o with a wicked splash form the top last time he was on Raw,if this happens again i dont mind it.just squash jackass and be done with it

This is sounding worse and worse...
Word out there now is that the Jackass crew will have one TO THREE matches on the card! Playing babyfaces, against WWE heels. The whole crew is signed on at this point, aside from Knoxville, who is interested but has not confirmed to this point.
Apparently this is the brainchild of Shane. Steph and HHH were said to be VERY against it, but Shane got the approval of Vince and the bigwig on the USA Network, who are thinking a ratings boost may follow. So blame Shane.
This may be enough, as it pans out, to make me skip Summerslam after all...as of now, it was on my PPV buy agenda.

Are you fucking kidding me? I have tickets to SS and if this is the main attraction I'm going to be very very pissed. This isn't 1998. Jackass isn't even relevant anymore. I can live with one match. But 3? No fuckin' way man. I want my SS to be what it should, the 2nd most important show of the year. I wanted to see Kennedy vs. Edge but with Kennedy on Raw now that's out the window. By the way, I call dibs on the Kennedy impersonation if Trenton pitcher Ian Kennedy ever gets to the bigs.

They already started advertising this. During Raw, Monday, the ads for Summerslam all touted Jackass crashing the party.
Good call on the Kennedy gimmick. The only funny ballplayer gimmick coming out of the crowd I know of these days is for Clevelands Ryan Garko. When he is announced, and the announcer finishes saying "Garko" the fans yell, "Polo!"

Hooray! Angle is off! Got this off the Torch board, refrencing an item in PWInsider. Thanks to all involved...especially the cast of Jackass for pullin out!
According to PWInsider, the match is off because the deal fell apart and some of them were supposed to be on the PPV last night. At least that was the plan. They were supposed to cost Umaga the IC title. Johnny Knoxville, the guy that WWE wanted the most, pulled out (probably because of the Benoit tragedy). His people pulled out as well. Knoxville began distancing himself from WWE dates right after the tragedy. Apparently, the Jackass guys would have gone over on Umaga at the PPV.

That was a lousy idea. I had thought it was somehow connected to the death of Mr. McMahon.
I wonder when and how McMahon will return to WWE television.

Cena/Orton, Umaga/Jeff Hardy, HHH/Booker, Batista/Khali so on and so forth.
I'm glad the Jackass shit is off, but I don't have high hopes for Summerslam, I think the card will look weak on paper and will be lucky to pull off a few good matches the night of.

THANK FUCKING GOD!!! I was wondering why I haven't seen any of them on TV yet. I'll take Cena-Orton as the main event. He's pretty much the only guy left that he hasn't defended against and I always liked Orton. I wish they would've stuck with the Cena-Lashley program. I think they can put a good feud together even with Lashley sucking on the mic. Seeing HHH return rules. And against King BOO-KAH is awesome. Booker's gimmick is awesome. Way better than GI Bro. If Umaga-Hardy is anything like their Bash match I will be very happy. Anything with Khali will suck ass. He better lose the strap that night or I'll be super pissed.

The progression is simple....Orton is going to beat Cena, and HHH is going to beat Orton. And, in HHHs world, all will be right in the world.
I agree, the Cena-Lashley program should go on. Lashley actually showed some very good intensity chasing Carlito around. And sucky promo skills aside, he is a pretty good worker. I actually like Lashley.
Booker is one of my all-time faves, especially in this King gimmick. I had to laugh when he called Lawler "Jerome." The kingly table with a nice spread and cloth on Bookers side, and no cloth and a drink and half a donut on Lawlers side made me laugh.
I honestly do not mind Khali. He is so bad, but I grew up watching big lumbering guys. In fact, to this day I still get a kick out of my Big Bubba vs The Shark matches. And I still insist Khali had one of my "matches of the year" last year - his final battle against Undertaker on Smackdown.....GREAT match. But Khali stinks on ice, but I dont mind him. I would rather Finlay - or especially MVP - had that strap for now.
Orton has been great lately.

No, what they should've done last night is throw a total curveball and announce the returning HHH as Cena's #1 contender. The place would've went nuts. This way they get the Wrestlemania match they wanted from this year and HHH finally beats him. You just know that Cena is going to win against Orton. I just hope it's a good match and that I get lost in it.

Any chance Dusty's son actuallly comes out and turns by helping Orton beat Cena at Summerslam (since I doubt highly Cena would lose cleanly) and form some sort of second/third generation "family / faction" or something.
