Ah, yes, that genuine crazy, The Missing Link, has died. Folks, he was almost 70 years old! Dies at 68. In his autobiog, he talked about YEARS of steroid abuse, but again, he lived a long life. Official cause of death is losing a cancer battle. RIP, Link!

So I grabbed the Links autobiography as part of a $5 book sale on some grappling site. I had heard it was tepid and a little preachy, and probably would have passed if Link had not recently died, as macabre as that is. But for $5....anyway, early in and going through the obligatory childhood and how I got into the business sort of stuff, and its alright for what it is.
Here's the sad thing about the book - Link was always hot to write a book and tell everyone not to make the same mistakes he made. He had a message to get out. The book was apparently in the pipeline for 12 years, and he was working on it with his ghostwriter for 4. So the book comes out in 2006, and in the first 6 months that it is out, it sells.....SEVENTY FIVE COPIES!!!!!!!! I could print out 200 pages of posts from this board and sell that many copies on the corner of Broadway and Bond in 45 minutes. You got to feel bad for the big lug.

75 copies! That's hysterical.
Way to get outsold by BLEEDING PINSTRIPES.
