OK, maybe this was on 24/7 already, but last night they showed the War To Settle the Score. This may have been the peak of the WWF in terms of mainstream attention, even more so then Wrestlemania. It was a fantastic watch
This was right after the gold record incident, and right before Hogan/T at mania and the SNL appearance. The crowd was hot, they could have likely sold 50,000 seats. the Piper promo cut with Danny deVito at the end was one of his best of all time.
They had the hottest singer in music, the hottest TV actor, Costas as ring announcer and Andy Warhol did an interview with Mean gene.
And for WWF history, this is the night Cowboy Bob hurt his arm, piper smashed the guitar, Piper wore the Hulkamania shirt and entered to the bagpipe band in tow and Mr T made his WWF debut
I believe this is still the highest rating (in terms of audiance share, not viewers) in MTV history, WWF was white hot for this show
A great watch..hope everyone caught it

I quit watching, or even DVRing this program. Before anyone falls down in a fit of stunned shock, its all cause of 24/7. All these cards end up on there - IN FULL - along the line. But I can say this - before 24/7 hit my system, MSG Classics would have ranked in my favorite of shows. Classic stuff.
I actually videotaped that entire MTV airing as it happened, and still have the tape, and it still plays and looks fine. Its insane that things I taped on VCR tapes off of sketchy VCRS over 20 years ago, for the most part, look as if I taped them last night. Some tapes I have not put in or watched at all for years have the old little lines or fudginess near the bottom of the screen, but for the most part most of my stuff is in sterling shape.

The problem with MSG Classics is that they keep changing the name and the DVR won't pick it up. I keep forgetting about it. Would have loved ot have seen War to Settle the Score.

Ok, I had said I pass on these, but tonight I will be DVRing cause its headlined with Backlund vs Mosca, and I love me some Mosca. When I was a kid, there were a couple of wrestlers I found sort of invincible, that sort of alarmed me. They were all big rugged individuals....King Kong Mosca, Killer Khan, Stan "The Lariet" Hansen, and Bruiser Brody.

You need to take initiative. Check the listings, you KNOW its on Wednesday nights. Find it in the guide, and manually set to record. I cant believe you missed Hogan vs Flair, and Hart vs Dibiase, last night.

I tend to forget about it a lot. It's annoying they keep changing the name.

You can set the DVR to record a specific channel at a certain time instead of choosing by program
