He has been fighting hard in his battle with throat cancer. Major surgery scheduled for Friday.
Bobby Heenan is undergoing major surgery tomorrow. They will be taking bone from both his shin and thigh and using it to reconstruct a new jaw, because his jawbone was destroyed by radiation therapy in treating his throat cancer. The surgery is major enough that after completion, they will have to put him in a coma for several days.

Sadly, from just about all accounts you will probably never see the man in public again.

That is too bad...The heel manager is probably the one thing I miss most about wrestling these days...I hope he pulls through...

Read this just now on gerweck.net
I just wanted to let everyone know that I spoke with Cindy Heenan, Bobby’s wife and she told me that Bobby has had the two surgeries on his jaw because the first one was not a success. The doctors hope that the second surgery will be successful and that the new bone will heal properly. He is still in a coma and will be brought out slowly this week. Bobby will be in the hospital another two or three weeks.
It is going to be a long road to recovery for Bobby so please keep The Brain in your thoughts and prayers.
When I know more I will let you all know.

A couple of adds on this situation I read in last weeks Observer.
Heenan is 63. I actually thought he was a little older. Also, he has not eaten any solid foods in 5 or so years, with his jaw being destroyed as it was. He has been living on protein shakes. That friggin' sucks. Like it or not, culinary dining is one of the pleasures in life.
Also, turns out he had 2 broken jaws that were not diagnosed until all this mess, and that did nothing to help the condition of his jawbone. Its a long road ahead for Mr Heenan.

You guys should put a pic of Heenan and Monsoon on the top of the page.

I won't remove one of Tom's pics, but I'll add one of Heenan and Monsoon.
I can't believe Heenan is only 63. He looks 75. Amazing how some people just don't age well.

Well, cancer and protein shakes will do that to you.
I don't think Tom would be mad if you took the pic of the Holly's down. LOL

Not to be morbid or anything, but I am not expecting Heenan to last long, and figured he would have the top of the section, if not the board, to himself pretty soon. I will leave Balls' addition up till I change the lot of pics, but I will remove Perfect for now, cause I cant stand two stacks of pics on top of the page, and for now there are too many.

When Heenan dies, he will get presidential honors at Heckle House. No question.

Which consist of what? Would it be a week? More than a week? Only asking out of curiosity, just to see what to expect since we're only 17 hours into 2008 and everyone is already anticipating his death.

To be honest, I don't know. There would have to be some board wide tribute. We actually never talked about how long it would last though. Something to ponder during the week.

Well, lets not get ahead of ourselves. His death is by no means imminent. His quality of life is down, but its been pretty much that way for 5 years now. He may not be going anywhere anytime soon. He is still cracking jokes, too. Just before he went into the hospital he was talking to Greg Gagne, and as Heenan was down to 150 pounds at that point he said, "If I lose another 5 pounds I can become an honorary High Flyer."
Of course you would have to remember undersized grapplers Greg and Jumping Jim Brunzell pre-Killer Bee to get that one.
