Hot looking show. We'll be getting it. There is not a stinker to me in the bunch, although you can make a case for CM Punk / Kane - vs - Mark Henry / Big Daddy V.
The HHH / Jeff match has me intrigued. For a few reasons, I think Jeff is going to squeak the upset. A lot of Dana and I's favorites are getting work on the card, from Kennedy going against HBK to Jericho tangling with Orton. There is a cool ladies match on WWE.COM (which may have been pulled from the card) which is also not a bad affair, in Beth vs Mickie. Two of the girls who actually can go in the ring.
Khali vs Finlay should be grand fun. Someone on the Torch is just begging for Khali to bring out a little Indian midget, that would be gold.
Mysterio vs MVP will be a solid encounter. I have not looked forward to a WWE card top to bottom like this since Wrestlemania. I know, my excitement is pretty much a harbinger of death, but we'll see.

Can't watch this one live. I got a Dexter finale that can't wait till 11 I might have to order the replay but I'm not sure what's my best option. I't sucks but what can I do?
I also think Jeff wins tonight. HHH goes into the Rumble, wins and goes to Mania to fight Orton. That to me is a no brainer.
Mysterio/MVP is also a no brianer to me, but should still be a good match. MVP doesn't need to drop the belt here.
Jericho vs Orton, another good one on one. But, again, this is no toss up. Good to have Jericho back, but no belt for you, don't fuck up any spots in the match and they won't shit on you in mid card status.
I am really looking foward to Micki vs Beth. I've been saying this for a while, as did Tom, two of the best female wrestlers on the roster. I think Beth pulls it off, no need to get the belt off of her so quickly, I just hope it isn't a one and done vs Micki. I hope they go into a a nice little feud. And here's to a Micki and Beth kiss tonight. That kick rules.
They had to throw in a tag match, I understand, a lot of one on ones. Did it have to be this one? Why not some time Miz and Morrison against Jesse and Festus? How about a Cade and Murdoch vs Holly and Rhodes rematch? No, they throw together a bizzare matchup that A) won't go longer than 5 or 6 minutes not to mention 3 of the 4 guys are really limited in the ring and one is the ECW champ who does nothing but sell to everyone and is programmed like a fucking robot in the ring. Worse match of the night here ladies and gents. However, since I think a lot of heels will win tonight, this is where the fans get their one happoy ending(tee hee) and Kane and Punk pick up the W.
Then there's Mr. Kennedy vs MIISSSTTTEEERRRRR HBK..........HBK! As I've said time and time again, any time HBK is in the ring, you got a chance for a match of the night canidate. Kennedy is out of the dog house(though he'll probably to the job, one clique upset is enough for one night)and he's put in there with a guy who's going to teach him a lot and give him the ole' rub. Should be fun with some good action and a few funny spots. High expectations on this, good thing the man who always delivers is in there. HBK gets this one, will probably continue into the Rumble till they know what they wanna do with HBK at Mania.
Then, the match I'm most looking foward too. Edge-Taker-World Champ Batista. Taker and Batista had a really good Hell in a Cell, now with Edge in the mix, he can't take over some of the work load so this match should have a much fatser pace than previsous matches with Taker and Batista. I'm looking for Edge to get the gold here. Batista is going to need a title match at Mania and I don't see him going in as champ. I think they pick up where they left off with the plan to run with Edge as champ for a while. Yeah Batista gets big pops and Taker is Taker, but there isn't much else for those two to do. Edge is a lot more versatile and deserves his full run.

Ok, I will have more to say on the morrow. Decent show, the wrestling action was pretty darn good. With the exception of the multiple Edges during the main event, not a lot of madcap antics. Justin was on location, I look forward to his report.
Not really recapping now cause I cant imagine anyone who is interested has not checked the Observer or Torch. I figured Hardy would win, that was well done. Kennedy and HBK was a very good match. I liked the show, and look forward to the Rumble.

My fandom got in the way of one pick. I figured the fans would get jerked around so to give them something to cheer about, give them the throw-a-way Kane and CM Punk win. I was thinking since for so long Punk is the Mysterio after winning the belt, hang on to it, but job and lose meaningless matches. So here's where you make it some what worth while. It makes him look bad losing and getting beat on so muchm and I had thought/hoped they would go the other way. Can't say I blame them, but it's something to look into when all they do is bury certain champs.
Other than that, pretty much what I expected. Good action, good matches, I really got ito the HHH Hardy match, but the crowd was dead for that one. And you gotta love a match where a hand is the target of attack. Some of those moves really freak me out.
I look foward to the Rumble too, especilly since I'm getting tix.

Well, it was an interesting Sunday for me. I started the day out at Pipers Pub for the Liverpool/Man United affair (Liverpool 0-1 Man U F.T.). Pittsburgh does not allow the sale of alcohol until 11 a.m., a law that I curse on Sunday mornings, but came in pretty handy as it turned out. Then it was on to Jerome Bettis' Grille 36 adjacent to Heinz Field for some quick libation before heading in to the Jaguars/Steelers game (Steelers 22-29 Jaguars F.T.). I smuggled in a half-pint of Jim Beam in my jock (the only place they don't pat you down, it seems), and killed that and many beers. Afterward I headed to Sports Rock Cafe to watch the 4:00 games and continue to drink heartily. Finally at about 7:20 I headed over to Mellon Arena, obliterated, and scalped a floor seat. $75 face, he wanted $50, I said $20, then handed him a $10 and a $5. He said, "Hey! This is only $15!" I said, "Yeah, what can ya do." Off I go then.
Bought two more beers and made my way to the Igloo floor for the first time ever. The place was packed, except for my row, which was awesome. I was in my seat in time for Lillian Garcia to sing the National Anthem. Then I drank my beer. First match had Mysterio and MVP go at it. I am an MVP fan, much to the chagrin of everyone else on the floor except one hot chick in front of me. Her guy wasn't happy about that. Anyway, I thought the match kinda fell flat at the end, with Mysterio winning by count-out. That ol' gag. I also hate the old "I have to get my finishing move in" gag as well, even though the match is over. But the marks like it, so I just drank my beer.
Next match was the tag match. I was gonna go get more beer, but I like CM Punk, and I like Matt Striker, so I stuck around for it. Big Daddy V is disgusting. But he is large. Mark Henry sucks and is large. I did like the Samoan drop at the end, though. Then I went to get more beer and take a leak before the Sexy Boy and Mr. Kennedy.
I love Shawn Michaels, and I always have. And I would gush on about him more, but James does enough for the both of us. I thought Kennedy looked really good, but Michaels usually makes sure everyone looks good, so that could be part of it. Liked the sudden ending as well. Loved the match overall. Well choreographed as well, with Kennedy's bad arm being his Achilles heel at the end. Hard not to like Michaels in the ring, regardless of your opinion of him. He's just that damn good.
HHH and Hardy - best match of the night, as I'm sure most will agree. I was pretty impressed that HHH jobbed and sold it well. He looked very good in the ring, too. Happy that Jeff gets the title shot. He looked great, and I loved his reversal out of the Pedigree at the end. Crowd went nuts.
I wish I had gone to the bathroom during the Finlay match, because I had to pee again. But I like Finlay, and I get a mild chuckle out of Hornswoggle. But the match sucked. Thankfully it was short. Crowd didn't like it, and I don't blame them. But everyone was waiting for Y2J, and the place went bananas when he locked the Walls of Jericho on Orton. And when he dragged Orton into the middle of the ring, it really finally felt like a PPV Title match in the building. Tremendous pop, though you knew Orton wasn't losing the belt right there. But the crowd reaction was phenomenal all the same. WWE needs Y2J as a top guy right now, I think. Fans love him too much.
I then raced to pee and get two more beers, which I think were Bud Light at that point. Don't remember, but they were cold. I missed Jillian Hall singing, for which I was congratulated by people in my section. I usually take my time during a womens' match, but since I was on the floor I really wanted to see them up close, because I like to look at the skirts. All the same, I'm glad it was predictably quick, but the match was actually decent.
At this point you could have punched me square in the jaw, and I wouldn't have felt a thing. And that very nearly could have happened. For some reason, this guy came and sat his newly-purchased belt next to me, and then walked away for a few moments. Now I was at a crossroads. My immediate thought in my drunken haze was to grab the belt and hotfoot it to the exits while people were waiting in anticipation of the three-way match. Thankfully, the same alcoholic stupor that caused me to consider this option in the first place must have dulled my response and reaction time long enough for the rather large black gentleman and his friends to return to their seats, none the wiser of my devious plan.
I'll be honest...the last match is hazy for me. The only thing I really remember is that it seemed kinda short and ended pretty early. Crowd didn't seem to thrilled by it, thinking we all had 10 more minutes, as I think it was only 10:40 when it ended.
The end.

Good review there. Yeah, you were pretty lit when you called me. Quite boisterous. Pretty funny too.
By the end of the PPV Dana was thinking she saw you standing up raising your arms up in glee. But we figured it was not you cause the guy was not wearing football duds. I did not go back for further research yet.
HHH / Hardy is getting great marks across the board. That and the Kennedy / HBK match were the concensus top matches on the bill. Its fun to watch a PPV you know your friend is at. And I tape, I can always go back and go, "Justin was there!" Hey, that Hardy / Jeff match may make a Jeff DVD someday!
Good work Sir.

Yeah, and it was like the second time ever I've been on the floor for a WWE show. Only other time was ringside at a house show at the Coliseum in like 1990 or 1991. I forgot that I had called you before the Edge match, and then I think I texted you and Midget Mike that I hated both of you, or something.
Good times.

I did not get any such texts, but you did call me at one point, and then seemingly started questioning who was actually on the other end of the phone. You also asked me a couple of times who would win the match, and every time I answered you asked me again. I was yelling the answer, and making my wife mad.
Good times indeed.

I got my mark out moment with Edge winning and was happy. I'm glad Justin pointed out how the crowd really came alive for spots, during some of the matches they lost a lot of steam. I thought all the matches were good, just lacking that big PPV energy like Justin pointed out. The multiple Edges were dumb, the first one fooled me till I still saw Edge on the outside, then I knew he was winning. The first "Edge" who came in got sent right out and I was almost sure Edge was done till I saw another one out of no where and Edge crawling around the ring.
Funny part for me was during the Orton/Y2J match, my friend who hates Orton(even says he sucks as a wrestler cause he has to resort to cheating, like that takes away skill. He also didn't mind HHH using the rope for leverage in his match), wanted nothing more than to see him lose, especially for the title. So Jericho gets the Walls locked in and dragged to the center ofn the ring, my friend is thinking it's over, he starts bragging how Orton is done. As he turns back to the tv, he does so in time to see JBL kick his head off. Hapiness to rage that quickly. He hates a DQ/interference finish cause he want's to see them finsih the match on their own so he starts ranting how Orton and JBL suck. I had to point out Jericho attacked JBL, unprovoked, for no reason. JBL had every right to stand up for himself. That made him more mad, but made me laugh. So I had to hear how wrestloing sucks yet he'll be by tonight to mnake sure he sees what happens next. This mother fucker is still as gullable as an 8 year old but I have to hear how this guy sucks, Flair sucks(back then even), yet this dummy takes the fucking bait everytime. I can't watch ppvs anymore with my non wrestling fan dickhead friends.
The whole point of this story is how this guy swears to me he hates wrestling but will watch it every time he comes by. And I have to point out it's for the same reason he's mad, he wants to see the end res

Just saw the results now. Happy with them. Would have liked to see Kennedy go over HBK, but in a way that's good. HBK does have to beat guys like this once in awhile to maintain his status, so when he jobs, he's still their equal.
Interesting with HHH jobbing to Hardy. Could be a good sign for the future for Hardy.
And Edge is a good champion. It's just better when he has the belt.

I'm just glad Kennedy looked as good as he did in that match. he was dominating for a while there. I had a feeling that match would be ending with a Michaels superkick. Ah well. I don't get Punk and Kane as a tag team. I really like CM Punk and was hoping he would somehow pull off a win but again, ah well. Punk was the only reason I endured that match instead of pulling out a book or something. I liked the kick he gave Striker to the head. Emma is now wanting to watch the Finlay/ Kahli match. She also wants to see Jeff Hardy beat Triple Heych. She's a big fan.
