No, you had your Hardy date wrong. He is signing on Friday the 18th. Fridays not the 19th, Saturday is.
Fear not, I am not sold on going to the American Legion Hall for the Saturday. Of the 3, Rotundo is the only one I would really wish to meet. Ironically enough, when I posted the Rotundo theme on top this week, I had forgotten all about the signing.

I think the sign at the mall was wrong. I am pretty sure it said the 19th.

Well, we are off in about a half hour to see Jeff Hardy at Sunrise Mall. I was roped into doing the polaroid, for Emma. I myself prefer the old signed 8 x 10, to adorn my future Wall of Fame. We did the 8 x 10 for Punk and Swoggle, although Emma (and subsequently Dana) were pushing for the roid. Cant do both, or we would be spending upwards of 70 bucks.
As a compromise we'll do the picture, and I will buy a 5 dollar 8 x 10 off wrestlingsuperstore or something, and frame them together.
I am wearing my old-school Big Bossman "Corporate Security" shirt, which always goes over well, especially with the fellow Dads in attendance.

Ok. So wow, can Jeff draw a crowd. We get there 90 minutes early, and the line is already pretty bulbous. The kids were agog. It was funny to chatter with the other families in line, and find how many kids are so much more Jeff fans than Matt fans out there. Jeff Hardy has himself quite the little army, my daughter included.
Hardy showed up before 5, with the signing set to kick at 6. So they just started early. That rocked, cause we didnt have to stand around for long, without starting that shuffle to the front. We got a poloroid, all of us with Jeff, although Emma was pushing for just her to be in the shot.
A decent time, we met some cool people in line, and had some laughs. The talk of the line was tonights "wedding" - I knew the spoilers, but kept em to myself.

My favorite moment was when a kid (probably about eight or nine years old) all dressed up like Jeff Hardy was talking to me and during the conversation points to Tom and says "Did he used to wrestle?"

John Cena will be at GNC Herald Square at 1372 Broadway in Manhattan on Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and again from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. If you buy anything at the store, you can get your photo taken with Cena. Cena is apparently endorsed by Team Ultimate Nutrition.

Gonna head down at lunch tomorrow, methinks.

Just got back from down there. I work a couple of stops away on the subway, so I took a long lunch. That turned longer and longer. Anyhow, I showed up at 12:45 and the line already snaked up the stairs and in and around the CD section. Took me another hour to get from the Ws to the L's.
Long story short, but probably still too long, got out a little after 3. This was one of those "as long as you got a book he will sign anything else you decided to bring along" signings. Which is cool for those that other stuff to sign, of course all I had was the book. The guy in front of me had 5 copies of the book, someone in front of him had 3.
He was gracious, did not look unhappy to be there, and had a word with everyone as the pics were set up. They had some skirt standing there taking pics with any camera or phone you handed her. As everyone else shared some smalltalk I ended up changing my planned "its a pleasure to meet you" approach and ended up tossing out that it started with me in regards to my affinity for Hart during the mighty tangles with the British Bulldogs. I especially enjoyed the pick him up and toss him down by the hair thingamajig. Hart said "it was a special time" and ruminated that he thinks upon it often. I thanked him for his time and blurted a totally spontaneous "God bless you" on my way out of there, for which he thanked me, seemingly in humble fashion. On my way out, for a few minutes there I felt kinda sad.
The people at work looked the other way at my 3 hour window of not being around, so no complaints here.

The red and yellow piece of shit and Naitch under one roof? Nice. The outpouring of love and respect for Flair as opposed to Hogan will be fantastic. I'd love it if Naitch got a bigger pop than Hogan and just left. I've been convinced since the HOF, Hogan is hurting his legacy by being himself, often. When Hogan went in the Hall the fans cheered non stop because the fans are idiots. Nobody, fans, agents, wrestlers, The McMahon Family, no one sat and gave Flair a golf clap, like they did Hogan. That shows you how the two are viewed by their peers and I think it carries over to the fans now-a-days. I'd love it if Flair slaps the shit out of Hogan.
No joke, when I met Flair, I was more nervous shaking his hand than I was Shawn. Seeing as Flair was wrestling 15 years before I was born, but when I was getting into the wrestling world Hogan was on top, yet I'm starstruck meeting Naitch and if I saw Hogan in an airport I'd spill something on him and act like it was an accident. Probably hot scolding coffee which I don't drink.

More on this, from the same source....
Ric Flair will be signing for his cheapest prices on the East Coast is what is being billed for a 12/13 convention in Secaucus, NJ that also includes Hulk Hogan, Tito Santana and Bryan Clark. Flair will sign any item for $69, a photo op for $50. Hulk Hogan will be $150 for a signed 8x10 and $175 to sign any item, $100 per photo. The others are $25 per signing.

yeah cause even with his son being a murderer, Hogan is struggling. He didn't get his ex wife a house, he didn't pay for his son legal bills and he doesn't have his hands all over his daughters ass. Alright that last one had nothing to do with anything but it's still a good reason to hate him.
If I didn't have a hatred for Jersey I might go, just to get shit signed from everyone but Hogan. I'll have my camera ready and ask him to take a pic of me and naitch like the useless waste of flesh he is.

In 4 days, at the Sunrise Mall, I will be face to face for the second time in my life, with the Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels. Signing stuff from noon to 3, because of the house show at the Garden, also going to, at 8. I really never thought at 14 when I first met him I'd ever get this chance again, instead of being a gushing shy boy I now have the courage to converse with him, and being the HBK buff I am the only thing I'm nervous about is holding up the line. Shawn will be nice and some security guard will make me move, as opposed to when I met Mr.Backlund he was telling people to shut up because he was having a conversation with me. A real class act Mr. Backlund. But I don't expect Shawn to be any less generous with his time. I'll throw out a kliq reference, call Bret a cry baby, the best superkick ever besides Jannetty was to Hogan and tell him how I defend his good name on an Pro Hogan message board with a bunch of senile old men who think Hogan's a better worker than HBK. I expect to get a good chuckle with him over that one, I hope he calls him Terry.
It's gonna be good times.

Of all folks, Emma had a hankering to go see HBK. Its out, as there is a classmate birthday at a bowling alley in Massapequa running concurrently, but he can draw a crowd and I was not even sure before of my daughters affinity for the man.
Going price at this stuff is around 30 for a signed poloroid, a bit cheaper for an 8 x 10 with a scribble sign on it. You can NOT get your own stuff signed. And you cant get in line just to say hello. Oh, and James, they are sure to move you along quick.

I say this in all respect, but how can you question Emma? He's the Heartbreak Kid, chicks dig him, he can't help it. I've only seen Emma once as an infant, but I can't see her making something like that up, screw the classmate.
And the hello is worth 30 for me at least. I literally would not be the person I am today if HBK was 30 years ago. And seeing how me and him are cut from the same cloth, I can see us dishing out some superkicks to the mall security guards if they get a little too personable.

It was on sunday, and I woke up on time but after finalizing my fantasy football roster I got too nervous about the Cowboys(rightfully so) and decided to skip it and watch football instead. Plus a friend who was going with me bailed the night before so that made the decision easier because I didn't want wait in a line of any size for any period of time by myself talking to no one. And before someone asks, no, I won't strike up conversation with people on lines for autographs because I find they're usually casual no-nothing fans who are just annoying douche bags.
After the cowboy game ended, I regretted not going a lot.

In the recent signing trips we have taken, most of the people I end up talking to in line are guys like me there with their kids. Most of them hardly watch anymore, but we have fun talking about Hulkamania, The British Bulldogs, and Ric Flair vs Terry Funk.

Yeah exactly, Hulkamaniacs. You guys are all the Hulkamaniacs I can stomach in my life. I'm gonna go to a HBK signing and have to hear long tales how great of a worker Hogan was? I'd rather castrate myself.

We're going...although I think this means we have to buy "Behind Enemy Lines" to get a sig. On Friday, Jan. 9, Mr Kennedy will be at the Best Buy on Old Country Road in Westbury, N.Y. signing autographs from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
