So I had been reading about this on and off, and it looks like its a focused plan. It mainly effects those who tape the PPVS to DVD. The cable companies are working on tech to stop this practice. It would also carry over to 24/7 programming.
For the shorterm, this would not effect me, as people will still be able to videotape using a VCR. My eventual plan was to get a DVD recorder, but this would slow that roll. I am in no real hurry to move off of the taping stage, I have been "taping" wrestling for almost 25 years now.
But Cap, a few others - I know you guys like throwing a heap of this stuff on DVD. You wont be able to do this, beginning anytime now, and certainly by the end of the year.

Well that stinks..I still have my VCR so if I want it I can go that route and then DVD it from there I would guess..Just an extra step.....Though lately I have slowed 24/7 DVDing anyways...

I taped a heap of the Muraco stuff. I dont think any of this curtailing of the DVD process is imminent, but its certainly on the agenda. I am happy with continuing to tape, the only drawback to me is running out of space to store my stuff aesthetically. My tapes from 15 years ago are still looking dandy in the player, so quality has not even been an issue to this point.
