They're going to do 9 hours a day for two weeks? Holy shit.

Who the Hell wants to hear Mike and Chris do "some politics" mixed in with their sports? I cant imagine who I would rather hear go outside of the comfort zone more than those two. I would not tune in if my radio got one station, I would rather just turn on the sink and listen to it run all morning.

Where is this coming from?

Oh Christ...how agonizing.
Chris Russo is (no nicer way to put it) just not a smart man. He is really just a very inarticulate dimwit with adolescent conversational/debate skills. It's bad enough to listen to him talk sports...but now politics?
As far as I'm concerned, when it comes to Mike And The Mad Dog, more of Mike and less of Chris is always for the best.

I could not disagree more. Mike, solo, is a bore.

mike himself about 25 minutes ago.. i have to be honest people will tune into them, for the 2 weeks. and from what ive read michael kay shifting to wfan and doing the afternoons is a possibility and having mike and chris do sports in the am in imus's slot..

Kay has never put up good ratings. Even when he was in a cozy midday slot. He wanted to go up against Mike and Dog, and they hammer him into pulp. Why is the station apparently so hot for Kay?
That wont work anyway...he has a cushy deal where he can jet out early or go on location when he has a Yankee game. No way the FAN will share him with the Yankee YES booth, and his responsibilities on that end.

Thats sucks for YES and for me because I always have Mike and the Mad Dog on in the afternoon. Who is going to tune in during the afternoon to listen to Michael Kay? And who is going to fill in for Kay during this crucial time slot when the Yankees are playing in the afternoon?

i just think YES could be pushing for this hard to keep the face of the yankees broadcasting on YES all the time, and get him away from ESPN. but it's makes no sense.. i can see him doing his show on remote from the stadium or on the road w/ the team.. but it seems like a lot of work that really makes no fucking sense

It wouldn't work. He'd have to quit the Yankee gig, which I can't see him doing. Although, if I were him, I may consider it.

He has implied in the past that for the right job, he would do that...
Without coming out and saying it, of course. But you could read between the lines. But his ratings on the radio never justified giving up the one job for the other.
