HAHAHA - nope, no Moose McGillycuddys Tom. That's a chain by the way. I used to eat there often for lunch when I worked in Pasadena. Regarding Avail....I may try and check the Casbah show down in San Diego. For those that haven't been....The Casbah (since the demise of Bogarts in Long Beach) is by far Southern Cal's coolest club to see bands. I won't make the OC show because it's at Chain Reaction, which is an all-ages haven for straight-edgers where I'd be inundated with 16 year olds in brand new Crass t-shirts (even though the band was defunct 7 years before they were born) with big black Xs on their hands. By the way, THIS is the spot if you're ever in San Diego: (don't know who these people are)

Saw Barenaked Ladies at Radio City this past Sunday. Fun, as usual. Heading to the Garden tonight for Guns N' Roses (or, more accurately, Axel and ). Happier about Papa Roach opening than about the headliner.

My wife is going to be jealous regarding that Barenaked Ladies thing. I really wanted to take her, but $2000 in auto repairs this past month alone put a hack and slash to those lofty plans.

Guns N' Roses at the Garden last night.
Sebastian Bach sucked, but I never liked Skid Row, so I'm admittedly biased.
Papa Roach was fucking great.
GNR (or, more accurately, Axel and a bunch of guys I never heard of) were actually better than I thought. His voice sounded pretty good, and the band was tight.
Highlights: Bach coming out and singing "My Michelle" with Axel; one of the guitarists perfectly duplicating Ace Frehley's KISS Alive I guitar solo.
Lowlights: Way too much time between songs, too many solos, and the stuff from the "new" CD that they've been "releasing" for about a year-and-a-half was really boring.

Guns N Roses recently cancelled a concert, citing their inability to legally drink "Beer, Wine, and Jaigermeister" on stage as the reason.

Aw, how I miss my beloved Bronx Pizza. The way you get snarled at if you haven't made up your mind once reaching the counter or the relentless teasing of my pink Yankee's cap. Mmmm, eggplant and tomato, primavera, yum yum. I must be hungry.
A strange thing happened when I ordered my first pizza in Reno. The owner is a friend and/or rival of the owner of Bronx Pizza and insisted on me trying several slices for me to determine whose I liked better. What was I to do? Hands down Bronx beats Big Apple, but I couldn't tell him that. I was afraid he'd throw me out and never be allowed to order again. So, I lied. It may not be Bronx, but it sure beats Little Ceasars.
The last show I went to.....hmm, of yeah, English Beat played a free show at the rib cook off. That was cool.

Dave Wakeling must be hard up for money because the English Beat are playing Hollywood Park this weekend and they're practically the house band at The Coach House in San Juan Capistrano.

Since they often go by "Dave Wakeling And The English Beat" I'm guessing it's just him.
