Anyone?
This is an example of watching a show simply cause there were so many insanely positive reviews we could not ignore them. It was good...I look forward to where it goes, really. Started slow. Very intricate and interesting plotline. Yeah, overall, liked it.
Anyone?

I think that Vinny and I are the only others that watched it.
It has an interesting cast, and interesting premise, but I thought the pilot was rather erratic. I'm on the fence, but I'll continue to watch for now.

Yeah, holy crap did it start slow. In fact, if not for the good reviews and my expectations of a payoff i would have bailed in the first 15 minutes. But, yeah, I too see where there is potential for the future, so we'll give it a go again this week. Cool deal.

This show and The Winner are my two new favorite shows on tv. I like. Not that I'm bashing her, but it's weird seeing Minnie Drover on a tv show.

I sort of liked it too, but how could you already call it your "new favorite show on TV" after just an hour? It could take a tumble in hour 2.

Like you and Vinny said, potential, I like the concept. I thought it was going to be full fledged comedy but it has a dark side to it's humor which I like too, you don't see that on most shows with the exception of HBO shows and a few FX originals. And as for the new shows that came out I find myself more intrigued by the riches and the winner than the other garbage show thats on.

I enjoyed this show and will definitely keep watching, but I have a question.
Is Eddie Izzard's character supposed to be English or American because he seems to drift in and out of his accent at will
I don't find him terribly believable as a straight guy who would fall in love with a redneck gypsy. Perhaps they will provide some background later on that makes a bit more sense.

Why is it weird seeing Minnie Driver on TV, after her recurrent role on Will and Grace?

Cause I don't watch Will and Grace. I do pick better shows to watch with my time. Plus, a recurring role is different than starring. Most movie stars do an episode if they don't do a recurring. And since I have testicles, I don't watch Will and Grace and wouldn't know if a fucking alien was on that show.

Second episode was kind of "ehhh." There is some potential there, but I'm just not feeling it overall.
I never really cared for Minnie Driver, but now she has that anorexic look and her acting in this role is so over the top, that I am now an anti-Mini Driver fan.
The transvestite 10 year old is an interesting angle, but I expect that's Izzard's influence.
The scene with the one-armed chick (the sister from Always Sunny In Philadelphia) was very funny.
This show is on life support as far as I'm concerned. Not one of FX's better offerings. Last year's Starving was muuuuuuuch better and much funnier, but got zero play.

I kind of glazed over the last posts, for fear of spoilers. Have not seen episode 2 yet, not a priority....I am actually surprised after liking the show how little enthusiasm I have to check it out. But here's the deal, I know whats bugging me. I think the show is basically written just to win awards. It seems to convuluted for its own good. It is taking a long way around to take a short trip, in my mind.
Potential is there, but I am hearing rumblings that people are on the fence after the first couple of weeks, despite critical acclaim. I will say this, the show is on a short leash for me.

Well, I had this sitting in the DVR, and last night we were kicking around ideas of what to watch, and Dana and I looked at one another when this came up and we both kind of gave it the old shake of the head. We just decided we were bailing. I deleted it, and we wont be revisiting it.
I dont know, the show was sort of creepy. It made me feel dirty. And again, I think its being written to win awards or critical acclaim, and not for viewers, per se. So we're out. Come join us!
