WHOO HOO!!!!(hands up in the air) In a little over 6 hours, I will be going to see the greatest movie since the Godfather, 20 years in the making. I've watched the show since I can remember and the movie is finally here. And no, I'm not talking about Fragglerock. Anyone else going on opening day today or waiting till the crowds go down?

Not a "really long" episode. Just a bit longer than usual. Movie clocks in at like 1 hour and 15 minutes. Sounds like a ripoff.

Be that as it may, I am pretty sure "Beavis and Butthead Do America"s mantle as funniest animation movie of all time is safe.

First South Park killed Beavis and Butthead, which I love to this day. Second, Sancho needs a dictionary to look up the following words: Sarcastic, humor and douche. Thrid, the show hasn't jumped the shark, funnier then say the first 8 seasons, no, but it's arguable. Either way, it wouldn't still be around if it wasn't funny or relevant, people still watch, and it will be the same people, beer and doughnuts in hand, loving this movie feeling, NOT ripped off. Fuck, the Simpsons beat out that shitty stoneage show the Flinstones for longest running cartoon, no way is this show jumping sharks or dissapearing off anyones radar. People are just fickle. I think the only downfall of this movie, it won't have Grimey in it.
My early review for this movie:(Imitating Mr. Burns) EXCELLENT!

I loved it, I havn't laughed that hard in a theater in a long time. I was a little upset some guys didn't have more to do with it, but I understand why, the movie was about the Simpsons and it was set up-joke, set up-joke, with a plot carrying it too. And Maggie had her second word. But no spoilers from me.

I saw it in the theater yesterday. I was really excited to see it. Which is probably why I was let down a tad.
I thought it was good.
Not great. Just good. Maybe if I see it again, it'll be great. There were a few laugh-out-loud moments, but at no point was I doubled over in laughter. The jokes were very good though.
It was unfortunate that they showed a few of the jokes in the trailer, though it was kinda cool because half the theater was singing along to "Spider Pig" as it was happening.
Basically, here it is...if you were of the opinion coming in that the show had already jumped the shark, then this movie will do little to sway you.
If you think the show is still phenomenal, then you will love this movie.
I'm kind of in the middle. I recommend seeing it in the theater, because hey...when do you get to watch the Simpsons in the theater? I just recommend hitting a matinee, preferably first show so you aren't pissed off at having to spend $11.
I will say this though: I know it's only a cartoon, but I have developed an attachment to the characters after watching for so many years. This will sound gay, but I actually kinda welled up at one moment in the movie. Might just be because I've been emotional lately, but I don't think so.

If you think the show is still phenomenal, then you will love this movie. I actually disagree, as I'm of the opinion that the past 7 seasons of the show have been basically unwatchable, yet I really liked the movie. Well, at least the first 40 minutes of the movie. I won't see the rest until tonight or tomorrow.

I really liked the first 40 minutes, too. Tell me what you think after the other 35 or 40.

I went in with low expectations, being a huge fan who thinks the last 4 or 5 years or so have gone downhill.
But this movie was great. Is it as good as the best episodes? No, but it is a great watch if your a fan. They made the right move bringing in a lot of the old writers to work on the project, maybe this is why the last year or three have been so uneven, they saved the best material for the movie.
It pulled in a whopping 71 million on opening weekend, making back the prodcution budget. A home run for Fox..which means the inevitable sequel will be on the way.

Homer couldn’t carry Peter Griffin’s jock strap in a who’s-funnier-contest.

Whoa, lets not say things we can take back later. Does Peter have his very own word in the dictionary?
I love Family Guy but lets not shit on the founding father of cartoon humor, fuck Fred and Barney, screw Geroge and his boy elroy, and fuck Bugs Bunny, Homer Jay Simpspon rules. The only other man who is just as influential to american family life as Homer is Rev. Al Bundy.

"Wait Till Your Father Gets Home" gave birth to The Simpson, Family Guy, American Dad, etc...

I like them both but Family Guy can;t hold a candle to the Simpsons when the writing was at its peak. Hell, Family Guy has already been cancelled once and their first movie attempt was a straight to video train wreck
South park pretty much summed up Family Guy nicely although I will freely admit Family Guy can be funny at times, and the best episodes are much better then some of the last few years of the Simpsons.
