I am a big beer fan. I have different fav's or standby depending on the situation.
Some of my favorites are,
Guinness - no need to explain.
Tetley's - I've only had 4 of these (4 more in my downstairs fridge right now) but a few people have told me that this is a beer I would like. My wife is a beer fan (Kilkenny is likely her favorite) and she said she thought I'd love Tetleys so I tried it. It's great.
Sleeman's Dark - I always try to pick up a case of this near Chirstmas - it's always struck me as a Chirstmas beer. I can drink it in the summer but it just feels out of place.
Lech - This Polish beer started showing up in Liquor Stores north of the border about 6 months. It was described as a Grolsch/ heineken type beer but at a cheaper cost and it delivers, plus you can be drinking it at a party and when some one asks," Hey man what are you drinking?' You can say " Lech" which if you roll your tongue properly sounds like it grosses you out.... and that doesn't sound anywhere near as assuming when type it as when it actually happens. Moving on - a King can of this stuff runs for about 1.50 up here.
When I'm going golfing and I shoving a 6 pack into the "cooler" pocket on my golf bag - I have no choice but to pick something very middle of the road. The reason being is that it has to be something the course beer wench would sell or else it sticks out like sore thumb and you'll get booted. I like to drink "Labatts 50" if it's a nicer course but if its the usual run of the mill place - the kind that would allow someone like me to play on thier course then I'll go with Bud or Blue. ANYTHING but Molson Canadian.
I'd really like to try that Mustard seed beer - I bet it'd be great with steak or fine piece of prime rib.
The strangest beer I've had would be Wicked Ale - which is a chocolate ale. Didn't like it - Chocolate and beer dont mix.
In 2003 when I was drinking beer with many of you at ....the Ale House (I think - I do remember - it was by the water) we were watching Game 5 of the World Series versus Florida, I think it's the game Wells crapped out for us. Gangbang Steve introduced me to Beck's Oktoberfest Beer. I thought it was pretty damn good. Havent been able to find it since.

Either hike up your skirts or learn your conversions.
3 liters is only a little less than 6-1/2 pints... this is less than 4 quarts (like 3 & a gulp), which is the size of a Jeremy's beer... and who only had 4, if you were there for any length of time?
Nettles PLEASE don't tell me that you call out of work after a 7 Guiness evening at Ted & Jo's!

Oh, BTW, I finally went over to the Blue Point Brewery a couple of weeks ago... my parents came out for my father's birthday. I was surprised at how small the place is, but the tasting room rocks. It was a great way to taste every Blue Point variety. The blueberry ale was pretty interesting, but I still lie the toasted lager best. I need to go back to refill my jugs!

Thanks for the heads up Laura. I see Blue Point for sale at Penn and I've been hesitant to buy it because the vendors are charing a nice mint so i usually go for the "safe" stuff.
According to Google, the brewery is 24.9 miles from my house but according to mta.info, it's .48 miles from the Patchogue LIRR station.

It is right off Main St (aka 27A aka Montauk Highway) in Patchogue, a few blocks from the train station, but the tasting room is only open limited times. www.bluepointbrewery.com/

So one of the eves of our vacation we decided to dine at the quaint Lancaster Brewery, which was a cozy 1.4 miles from our hotel. Quite honestly, it was one of the best pub meals I can remember having. But this is about the beer.
On the beer menu, they had this thing called the Sampler Tray, where you would get all of 5 ounces of each beer in production. On the other side of the menu, they seemed to be offering 5 different brews. I figured, nice dinner with the girls, I am not pounding here, let me get 5 ounces of 5 beers. I ordered the Sampler.
WELL...it actually turned out to be 5 ounces of TEN BEERS. Oops. A good amount more beer, but all good. Dana's eyes popped a bit, and my eyebrow went up...there was no price attached. That was our worry. Nonetheless, I enjoyed their offerings (especially the Heifeviessen (sp) and a Strawberry flavored effort, as well as a milk stout I ended up taking a 6 back with me to the hotel)
And it all came to a cool $10 on the menu, the price of 2 pints. Good stuff!

I liked the Strawberry Wheat one. But the best of the ten was the Milk Stout. Not a beer fan per say but if I am going to drink beer I prefer a dark beer.

I'm actually drinking the Blueberry Ale from Blue Point Brewery right now. I definitely don't love it, but it's not terrible. My father had a few in the refridgerator and thought it would make a good dessert drink. I don't think I could drink more than one of these. Although it does taste better with each sip.

Leinenkugel Sunset Wheat... just picked up a mixed six from the beer store on my way home & this was my first selection to kick off the holiday! I never heard of it or saw it before, but it looked interesting... Two thumbs up & I highly recommend it!!! It's sort of a cross between something on the order of Hoegaarten and a hefeweizen with a sweet citrus-like kick... www.leinie.com/beers.html

I've been touting that beer for weeks. You must have missed my soapbox preachings regarding it at Dan's BBQ a couple of weeks ago, I wanted to bring some along but it was out, and I bought Killians Reds instead.
This beer is a hidden gem. On the supermarket shelves to boot. I agree with your two-thumbs up rating!
