Essentially just getting started at work - and on the board - today. Came in and had a crux with my laptop, and had no access. Called our IT guy and he had a good news, bad news scenerio. The error code seen was something he could fix in 10 minutes. Bad news? He was not due in this office by Broadway and W 4th at all today....but could do the fix, which he needed to do on the unit itself in person - if I met him up around 77th and Broadway.
So I spent my morning riding rails, listening to Mourning Beloveth on my MP3 player. True to his word, it took him 10 minutes to fix my laptop, and less than 30 minutes later i was back at work 70 plus blocks south. Hooray.

Well, I am charging & synching my NEW iPod.
Due to the fact that I had purchased my iPod less than 30 days ago, Best Buy gave me a brand new replacement for my poor sick Nano. I also added the $20 insurance, just in case the new one gets injured. Being a bit of a rookie on the gym scene, I did not have a full understanding of the how perilous the StairMaster can be for the little Nano. I was a little rushed for time today, and while checking my watch, I knocked the iPod off of the little ledge on the StairMaster. It did not seem to hit bottom that hard and there was no visible damage, but the screen turned white and it wouldn't do anything except click. It was very sad.

It must have hit at the perfect angle. I have a much older Nano, and I've beaten the shit out of it without issues.

Some background notes. Brother Dan pinpointed the pic to 1986, as he was working at Waldbaums at the time, and happens to be holding his silly apron. If you look closely, you can see I have a bandage on my hand, from an incident with a wrench in icy conditions that sliced my knuckle. I have a wormy squiggle on the knuckle to this day.
That is indeed Ludichrist vinyl my friend Rob is holding there. Thats my album, and its still in my possession, I just moved it across the street in the milkcrate for the move. Rob also happens to be wearing an EXODUS "Bonded by Blood" t-shirt. This is noteworthy in that my brother posted this pic a few weeks ago, and only days before I bought the new EXODUS release....a re-do of the "Bonded by Blood" epic, with the current singer and updated production. Thats just wack timing. Oh, and Dan and I just saw Ludichrist reunited for a local show last year.
Ah, the car. I destroyed that car in time. Soon enough there were two black "racing stripes" made of black electrical tape zipping down the trunk, to match the BLACK HOOD. One of my wrecks totaled the lime-green hood, and I got a black one to replace it. With hood scoops and hood locks! To open the dam trunk I had to unlock two locks!
Not necessarily proud, but I had pushed that car to over 120 MPH. By the grisly end I could foot to the floor it and not reach 80. I worked that thing to death. Hey, nice sneakers on me!

Yeah, those hood locks were awesome. Especially when you had that electrical fire near the engine and you had to fumble with keys for a few minutes to get the hood open.

We are getting set to jet, over to Emma's "Holiday Concert" over at school. Spent the last couple of hours moving stuff, and the couple of hours before that (after getting her on her bus) knocking off some remaining Christmas shopping.
Busy day "off" from work. But productive, and sorta fun.

What's Emma doing for her concert?

If Tom had his way, it would be the Mercyful Fate medley from Metallica's Garage Inc. Not that there's anything wrong with that!

Emma didn't do much of anything in her concert. She just stood there smiling in a Santa hat with her name on it and shook some "jingle bells" every now and then. She has a habit of clamming up and not singing as loudly at her school functions as she does when she is riding in the car. She didn't get that from me. I was one of the loudest singers in my chorus. I even performed half of a musical with a broken microphone once and nobody even noticed that is was broken.
Another thing she didn't get from me is height. My little girl was on the middle riser. That is the third row back because there are three risers and then then the row that stands on the floor in front of the risers. I was always in the floor row.

Helping to set up for an office holiday shindig this afternoon. While the outside and pricey bash was scrapped, they are still finding a way to waste away an afternoon.
So I have been helping to move bowls of chili, tins of lasagna, cans of soda, cakes and pies. Also doing a lot of gladhanding, people not normally in the office who caught wind of merriment. There is a Secret Santa I passed on, and somehow this year I was not asked to be Santa. I was asked last year, but could not make the bash.
Ive settled in for some work now, but I may be on here sparingly, as there are too many eyes around today.

Bowls of chili? People in your office are a few hours away from catching a different kind of wind. ;D

Wondering if metssucksballs accepts paypal and if he's willing to place some bets on some NFL action while he's in Vegas.

He does NOT accept paypal, which was a major bone of contention in the fantasy baseball league.
