Lawmaker shows naked woman during school lecture Rep. Matthew Barrett giving civics lesson when computer shows topless woman NORWALK, Ohio (AP) -- A state legislator surprised a high school class when the computer he was using projected a photo of a nude woman during a lecture on how a bill becomes a law.
State Rep. Matthew Barrett said the questionable memory stick had been given to him several weeks ago.
State Rep. Matthew Barrett was giving a civics lesson Tuesday when he inserted a data memory stick into the school computer and the projected image of a topless woman appeared instead of the graphics presentation he had downloaded.
Police interviewed Barrett and school officials and seized the data memory stick and the computer to determine where the image came from, a state highway patrol spokesman said.
Barrett said there were a few snickers from the approximately 20 students in the senior government class at Norwalk High School when the image appeared. He said he immediately pulled the memory stick out of the computer.
The legislator said he finished his lecture using printouts and then met with the school's principal and technology staff, who examined the stick. He said the school's technology director determined the stick had a directory of nude images in addition to Barrett's presentation on civics lessons.
"I have no idea where these came from," the Democrat said.
Barrett said the data memory stick was a gift he received about three weeks ago from a legislative liaison from the state Library of Ohio

Apparently, Danny Bonaduce had a scuffle with reality star and wrestler wannabe Johnny Fairplay at the first ever reality show awards. A lot of people can't stand Fairplay. He's the guy who faked his grandmother's death to get a reward on Survivor. Anyway, he jumped on Bonaduce onstage and Bonaduce would have none of it, knocking out some of Fairplay's teeth. Here's the video. www.youtube.com/watch?v=r1_VjxFTUmM

FOXNEWS.COM HOME > U.S. Cops: Florida Boy, 13, Killed Brother, 8, Over Dessert
ORLANDO, Fla. — A 13-year-old choked and beat his 8-year-old brother to death because the younger boy ate a dessert and the older one worried he would be blamed, authorities said Wednesday.
Demetrius Key was arrested on first-degree murder. The boys' mother, Tangela Key, told police she was visiting a cousin nearby and left him in charge of Levares Key and other younger siblings Saturday.
A neighbor told investigators she heard four loud bangs, followed by 10 minutes of quiet and then more commotion, according to an Orange County Sheriff's Office news release.
Demetrius Key went to the cousin's house and told his mother his brother was "passed out," the sheriff's office said. The younger boy was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Demetrius Key initially said he hit his brother with a metal shelf support, investigators said. After investigators searched the house, he said he used a broom handle, the sheriff's office said.
He then told the detective he punched the boy, choked him and banged his head on the floor, according to an affidavit.
"Demetrius offered that Levares upset him by eating a dessert that (he) was not to have eaten," Detective Appling Wells wrote. "He also advised Levares upset him by picking a scab and causing it to bleed.
"Demetrius said he feared Levares would blame both circumstances on him and tell his mother he had struck him and eaten the dessert."
The sheriff's office would not say what the dessert was.
Orange County Medical Examiner Dr. Jan Garavaglia ruled the death a homicide from closed head injuries.
Tangela Key does not have a listed telephone number. The sheriff's office did not immediately know whether Demetrius Key had an attorney.

You really can't fault the guy's logic. Serves the 8 year old right for trying to frame his brother. This was a much better solution.
The real mystery is what the dessert was. I want to know.

Pub gossip leads to nasty surprise for couple Attempt to squelch rumors leads to shocking DNA test
PRAGUE - A Czech couple who decided to take a DNA test to squash persistent pub gossip and prove that their 10-month-old baby was their own got a nasty surprise.
The couple, from the southeastern town of Trebic, had some doubts about the child as her hair was blonde and they both had dark hair. Fellow drinkers' suspicions got on their nerves.
But the test showed neither of the parents had the same DNA as the baby, Czech news agency CTK reported Wednesday, suggesting a mix-up at the hospital.
Authorities were looking into the case.

FOXNEWS.COM HOME > U.S. Texas Man Accused of Stabbing Roommate Over Smelly Feet
HOUSTON — A 22-year-old Houston man is charged with murder after the fatal stabbing of his roommate.
Investigators say William Antonio Serrano apparently stabbed his roommate to death after the roommate complained that Serrano had smelly feet.
Police Sgt. Macario Sosa says the argument came Saturday night as the two men were drinking. Sosa says the victim was a 25- to 30-year-old man, whose name has not been released. He died at the scene.
Sosa said the two men shared a 10-by-10-foot bedroom they subleased from a married couple, who also live in the apartment.
The woman who lived in the apartment was outside with her newborn baby when she looked through a window and saw one of the men with two knives in his hands.

FOXNEWS.COM HOME > U.S. Pennsylvania Man Jailed After Paying for Groceries With $1 Million Bill
PITTSBURGH — Change for a million?
That's what a man was seeking Saturday when he handed a $1 million bill to a cashier at a Pittsburgh supermarket. But when the Giant Eagle employee refused and a manager confiscated the bogus bill, the man flew into a rage, police said.
The man slammed an electronic funds-transfer machine into the counter and reached for a scanner gun, police said.
Police arrested the man, who was not carrying identification and has refused to give his name to authorities. He is being held in the Allegheny County Jail.
Since 1969, the $100 bill is the largest note in circulation.
Police believe the $1 million note seized at the supermarket may have originated at a Dallas-based ministry. Last year, the ministry distributed thousands of religious pamphlets with a picture of President Grover Cleveland on a $1 million bill.

Dumb quote of the day, and from a "graduate psychology major" no less...
Its in the story about the "noose" hung on the door of an African-American professor at Columbia.
"What is this, the Middle Ages?" the student asked.
Um, maybe I am wrong, but were the blacks getting lynched in the Middle Ages? Were there even blacks hobnobbing around where they COULD get lynched?

HA! Funny.
My friend was riding a bus once on a college campus and he said that some kid was on the bus with all sorts of pseudo-hippie-liberal-anarchy crap scribbled all over his Converse tennis shoes.
One of shoes said, "Free Joseph Mandela"

I know there were dark-skinned lads shimmying about, but the practice of stringing them up with rope was not in season. I think shackling them with chains was the order of the day.

FOXNEWS.COM HOME > U.S. Cops Pull Over Boy, 3, Driving Along Highway in Toy Mustang GT
OMRO, Wis. — The candy-apple red Mustang GT is just a toy, but that didn't stop 3-year-old Jordan Will from taking his battery-operated wheels for a brief ride along a busy stretch of highway.
Drivers stopped and neighbors chased down the car until an officer could pull over Jordan and his 2-year-old passenger on Sunday.
"Nothing bad happened, so it's kind of cute now when you look at it," said his father, Doug Will. "But at the time, it wasn't cute at all. It was scary. I was really upset."
The Mustang is decked out with all the extras: a rear spoiler, a premium sound system and chrome wheels.
The boys drove the tricked-out ride through their Omro neighborhood and pulled up to a busy intersection.
"He even obeyed the signs, so that was good. He stopped at the red light and got on the cross walk," said neighbor Jaci Bauer.
Another neighbor, Jason Bauer, panicked when he saw the boys cross over a highway, onto a sidewalk and over a bridge. He gave chase for a few blocks until an officer pulled the boys over.
"By the time we stopped them, they probably made it five or six blocks from home before anyone even noticed they had been wandering around town," Jason Bauer said.
Doug Will had been searching for the boys when he got the call to come get the car.
"He just said, 'We went for a ride, daddy,"' Will said.
All Jordan can do now is sit in the little car. His father has taken away the keys and removed the battery.
Officers said Jordan's dad won't be cited.
Omro is in east-central Wisconsin, about 10 miles west of Oshkosh.

Pet massacre in Puerto Rico
By MICHAEL MELIA, Associated Press Writer Sat Oct 13, 3:37 PM ET
BARCELONETA, Puerto Rico - Elvia Tirado Polanco says she reluctantly handed over her black- and white-spotted mutt to animal control workers after they threatened that she would be evicted from her housing project for keeping a pet there. The workers promised to take the small dog named "Lucero" — or "Star" — to a shelter. Days later, however, Tirado was horrified to learn that dozens of pets seized this week in Barceloneta on Puerto Rico's north coast were instead thrown to their deaths from a bridge.
"It was barbaric," said Tirado, 56, who wept Saturday as she described caring for the seven-year-old dog. "This has been a really hard blow for all of us."
Several pet owners inside the Antonio Davila Freytes housing project, one of three raided by animal control workers Monday and Wednesday, said they had provided vaccinations and lavished care on the cats and dogs taken from their homes and killed with strays.
The government circulated a letter inside housing projects this month warning that violators of a no-pet policy would be evicted. Mayor Sol Luis Fontanez said the town ordered the removal of the pets, but he blamed the massacre on a contractor hired to take the animals to a shelter.
Fontanez said he would cancel the city's contract with Puerto Rico-based Animal Control Solutions and that city lawyers were considering a lawsuit.
Company owner Julio Diaz said he went to the bridge when he heard of the allegations, but denied that the dead animals were the ones his company collected. He said he would present his records as proof to city authorities on Monday.
"I have the dead dogs in my facility," he said Saturday. "I am a certified animal control officer. I have been doing this for nine years."
Puerto Rico's housing department has opened an investigation into who is responsible for the deaths, said Doris Gaetan, of the department's office of community relations. She said regulations in the U.S. Caribbean territory allow pets in government-funded housing projects if they are small and do not pose a risk to others.
"We do not support the way in which this was done," Gaetan said during a visit to hear the accounts of pet owners at one of the complexes.
A local resident, Jose Manuel Rivera, used a backhoe to bury the bodies of about 50 animals Saturday in a mass grave near the bridge where they were dumped.
He discovered the animals around dawn Tuesday after hearing barking and whimpers from animals who survived the 50-foot fall. He recovered six injured dogs, who were reunited with their owners after they saw their pets on a television news broadcast.
"One had a broken spine, and about all of them had broken legs," Rivera said.
Many of the pets inside the housing project were strays that were adopted by residents after wandering into the low-income neighborhood. Owners said they feel they are now paying the price for the neglect of others on an island with no pet registration law and little spaying or neutering.
"It is not our fault that they come here," said Carmen Valle, 56, who said workers seized two of her dogs. "We are humble people, but we have good hearts. Animals should be treated with decency."
Tirado said she had cared for Lucero for seven years as if the dog were her child, feeding her from the plastic table in her cramped living room and letting her sleep beside her at night.
During the raids, she said workers surrounded the housing complex and prevented anyone from leaving with pets. But she said she wishes she had never let Lucero go.
"I have been crying so much I can barely sleep," she said.

LOL!
WACO, Texas -- Baylor athletic department officials said they are considering disciplinary action against an assistant football coach cited for urinating on the bar at a tavern.
Eric Schnupp, Baylor's offensive line/tight ends coach, was not arrested but was issued a citation at 2:20 a.m. Sunday for disorderly conduct-reckless exposure at Scruffy Murphy's, Waco police spokesman Steve Anderson said.
The citation is a Class C misdemeanor carrying a $258 fine, according to Waco Municipal Court.
Bartender Danny Severe said in Tuesday's editions of the Waco Tribune-Herald that the incident happened around closing time and that Schnupp apparently thought no one was watching him as employees were moving patrons out of the building.
Severe said an employee witnessed Schnupp urinating on the bar, and a manager told police officers who were there for an unrelated matter.
Severe said Schnupp had taken several shots of hard liquor, most bought for him by other people.
Schnupp had traveled with the team to Lawrence, Kan., where the Bears lost to Kansas 58-10 Saturday afternoon. The team was back in Waco by 9 p.m.
Baylor associate athletic director Nick Joos did not immediately return calls Tuesday to The Associated Press. But Joos told the Tribune-Herald that discipline would be handled internally.
"I can tell you that coach [Guy] Morriss is taking this issue very seriously," Joos said, declining to say what disciplinary measures are being considered.
Schnupp, in his first year as a coach at the world's largest Baptist university, played football for the University of Miami from 1995-2000 and previously coached at West Texas A&M.

FOXNEWS.COM HOME > U.S. Woman Overheard Yelling Obscenities at Toilet Could Face Jail Time
SCRANTON, Pa. — A woman who allegedly shouted profanities at her overflowing toilet within earshot of a neighbor was cited for disorderly conduct, authorities said.
Dawn Herb could face up to 90 days in jail and a fine of up to $300 (euro212).
"It doesn't make any sense. I was in my house. It's not like I was outside or drunk," Herb told The Times-Tribune of Scranton. "The toilet was overflowing and leaking down into the kitchen and I was yelling (for my daughter) to get the mop."
Herb does not recall exactly what she said, but she admitted letting more than a few bad words fly near an open bathroom window Thursday night.
Her next-door neighbor, a city police officer who was off-duty at the time, asked her to keep it down, police said. When she continued, the officer called police.
Mary Catherine Roper, an attorney with the American Civil Liberties Union in Philadelphia, took issue with the citation.
"You can't prosecute somebody for swearing at a cop or a toilet," she said.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN.....THE HEADSCRATCHER OF THE DAY. AND THE LATEST SIGN THE APOCALYPSE IS UPON US.GEORGE. DICK. OBAMA??CNN.COM>POLITICAL TICKER Could it be possible that Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and Vice President Dick Cheney share a common ancestor? Cheney's wife Lynne says yes. In an interview on MSNBC Tuesday afternoon, Mrs. Cheney said that in the course of researching her husband's genealogy for her new book, "Blue Skies, No Fences," she discovered that the two public figures share an ancestor eight generations ago. "Think about this," Mrs. Cheney said. "This is such an amazing American story that one ancestor, a man that came to Maryland, could be responsible down the family line for lives that have taken such different and varied paths as Dick's and Barack Obama's." But is blood thicker than the partisan waters of Washington? Apparently not. Even though Obama is related to her husband, Mrs. Cheney said she is not supporting the Illinois Democrat's White House bid. Reacting to the news, Obama's campaign spokesman Bill Burton told CNN's Dana Bash with tongue in cheek, "Obviously, Dick Cheney is sort of the black sheep of the family." But Obama's family ties to the Bush administration don't stop with Cheney. According to an article in the Chicago Sun-Times last September, Obama is also an 11th cousin of the president himself. The two share a 17th century Massachusetts relative. WHAT THE? ?

This story is a real hoot. Been funny to watch this unfold. Stupid libs. Story starting to make the rounds now, and not necessarily from Conservative blogs, is that this hosebag idiot fell down drunk.
FOXNEWS.COM HOME > POLITICS Air America, Talk Host Backpedal on Attack Claim, Admit Mugging Report Was False
An Air America talk-show host who accused "the right wing hate machine" of being responsible for an alleged attack on an on-air colleague did a fast backpedal Tuesday, apologizing for "jumping to conclusions" about a now-debunked mugging report.
Host Jon Elliott issued a written retraction of his remarkable on-air charge, saying: "I shouldn't have speculated based on hearsay that Randi Rhodes had been mugged and that it may have been an attack from a right wing hate machine. I apologize for jumping to conclusions based on an emotional reaction."
Air America also issued a statement, saying Rhodes "experienced an unfortunate incident hindering her from hosting the show. The reports of a presumed hate crime are unfounded."
Elliott's initial claim that Rhodes had been beaten "by the right wing" for her political views set the blogosphere abuzz Monday night.
Rhodes, whose program airs on Air America weekdays from 3-6 p.m. ET, allegedly informed Air America that she was struck while was walking down a street Sunday night near her Manhattan home. There even was a report on-air that she had suffered serious injuries and had lost several teeth.
FOXNews.com, however, spoke to Rhodes' lawyer Tuesday afternoon, and he quickly moved to shoot down speculation that she was the victim of a political hate crime.
"We don't know whether there was a deliberate intention aimed at her or whether it was an accident... she was pretty much, she was hurt badly when she fell and her face hit the ground," lawyer Robert Gaulin initially told FOXNews.com, adding that people on the street came to her aid. Gaulin later told the Daily News that Rhodes had fallen while out walking her dog near Park Avenue and 39th Street.
Elliott, meanwhile, went on a rant Monday night, telling listeners: "This does not appear to me to be a standard, grab-the-money-and-run mugging," and, "Is this an attempt by the right wing hate machine to silence one of our own?" Elliot also suggested that the act might have been meant to intimidate left-wing radio.
The report spread quickly Tuesday over the blogosphere, with the Google blog search showing hundreds of posts on the subject.
The New York City Police Department told FOXNews.com that they had no record of any attack in the area that Elliott mentioned — Park Avenue and 39th Street — and that Rhodes did not file a report of the incident with police.
"We have no record of her making any complaints whatsoever ... as far back as my computer goes," a police spokesman said. He said the records went back roughly 25 years.
The police spokesman, who asked not to be identified because of department policy, said that police "do not investigate things that are unreported," but encouraged Rhodes to report the incident if she would like police to investigate the matter. Police later attempted to contact Rhodes to see whether she wanted to file a report. Gaulin said Rhodes declined.
In a brief statement posted on its Web site Tuesday, Air America said replacement hosts will continue to fill in for Rhodes as she recuperates.
An Air America employee, who was not authorized to speak to the media and declined to be identified, told FOXNews.com Tuesday afternoon that Rhodes had been attacked, but said "it was not a hate crime."
The source said that Rhodes contacted several employees at Air America on Tuesday, and had told them that she was attacked but had only suffered chipped teeth, and would be seeing a dentist. Gaulin, however, said that Rhodes had been disoriented by the fall and really was not sure what had happened.

I heard one of the 'muggers' shouted "WHATS THE FREQUENCY, KENNETH??"
Its practically impossible to get mugged on 39th and Park anymore. Besides all the doormen the Cuban Embassy is just down the block, and there are always two or three cop cars out there. I bet you could stand out there with a hundred dollar bill as a blindfold and would still not get mugged.
