I hope the next card in that series was Ichiro going Kung Fu on Mr. Met.

I know it's a bit of a slog, but I would be happy to host a card geek get together some weekend at our place in the Catskills, and then we could all take the 1/2 hour drive over to the HOF and check out some real collectors items.
We have room for some that would want to spend the night. Anyone that is interested just holla back and we can get this rolling....

That sounds nerdy which means I am all for it. LOL
However, I don't recall ever meeting you. That's the odd part.

I feel like the next logical thing to say is, "in the basement.... lock the cellar door... and baby, talk dirty to me!"

I would definitely do this. Last year when I went to the HOF, I picked up a ton of cards. There were so many card shops, my head was spinning.
And, then, the Turning Stone for poker. Woo hoo!
I just bought a bunch more cards today. Three Kouzmnoff's, a Jeter and a few ARod's from my favorite seller on eBay.
By the way, I have that Ichiro card.

Jackass, we would like to hit the Hall, and quite possibly enjoy some of your hospitality, but we are shooting for next spring or such. We are inundated with all kinds of things from here through the cap of the year. As to cards, one guy I collect a fair amount of is tonights Yankee foe JP Howell, who I followed since his days playing college ball at Texas.

I'm in if Suzy is in.
BTW-- In light of recent discussions I will be shifting more of my efforts towards Tulowitzki now. I still will be buying Lind cards, because I am close to having all of his base cards, and now I just want to finish it since I started it. I have a ton of Tulowitzki cards, and ordered a bunch on eBay last night.
In today's mail so far, Adam Lind 2007 Xfractor 247/250, Adam Lind Chrome Refractor.
I went to Target last night and picked up 14 packs for $24.12, got 2 '04 Pujols cards, '04 ARod, '04 Jeter, '04 Mauer RC, and a bunch of other stars not worth typing.

Big Tulowitzki fan here. I have a couple of his cards, sought em out. I remember when he was drafted he was callled a Bobby Crosby clone. Eh, he's much better. He's a gamer too. I like that sort of player.

Another bubbble mailer when I got home laast night had 3 Pujols cards, and an Adam Lind Opening Day Gold card.
I went to BC Sports last night in the mall and picked up 6 more packs of Turkey Red, pulled a Lastings Milledge AUTO Refractor (ehh), Chrome Elijiah Dukes RC, and a bunch of other RC's. Not bad considering I can sell the Milledge AU and get half my honey back.

I put in a nice order last night on Beckett. I got a few cards from my favorite series, the 1960 Topps, as well as added to my Orlando Cepeda collection and Tony Kubek collection. I especially like the '57 Ralph Terry rookie because of the unusual view of Yankee Stadium. Check it out. They set me back a little bit more than I like to spend but I got good bang for the buck. 1960 Topps #275 Curt Flood 1960 Topps #395 Hoyt Wilhelm 1969 Topps #385 Orlando Cepeda 1960 Topps #450 Orlando Cepeda 1961 Topps #40 Bob Turley 1958 Topps #255 Bob Turley 1958 Topps #393 Tony Kubek 1960 Topps #247 Gil McDougald 1957 Topps #200 Gil McDougald 1957 Topps #391 Ralph Terry RC

Gooner, you should check out the new Topps Heritage, and Bowman Heritage. They are designed just like the cards you bought. Topps Turkey Red look like paintings, they are really cool. You will definitely like the new Heritage from both sets.

Yeah, I've got a few from those Heritage sets from the past few years. I've got some Rob Cano's, Bernie Williams, and Melky Cabrera's. I know they did a '56 & '57 throwback set. When I see a 1960 set, I'll probably get more involved.
I've stayed away from those Turkey Red cards so far. I guess if I saw them in person, I'd like them.

No I didn't make it over there to the show and I was sort of annoyed about it. I think I'm going to try and make it up to White Plains this weekend though.

Gooner, we need to make a Sunday plan, to cross paths in Valley Stream. We'll hit Slipped Disc, check out that card shop over there, and find a pub for lunch. I'll shoot ya a mail.

In todays mail, I got 2 bubble mailers. One had my 2007 Topps Finest Refractor Robinson Cano Autograph card, and the other had the 4 cards 2007 UD SPx Lind set.
Yesterday's mail, was far better than todays. I got 2 bubble mailers yesterday, one had 7 Tulowitzki RC's and 3 Pujols cards. The other one had a 2007 Bowman Chrome Xfractor of Tulowitzki, and a regular base card of him from the 2007 Bowman Chrome.

Just received a game worn, and autographed, Angels lid that was sported by none other than Mr. Bert Blyleven.
This will be shipped out to my brother, TheBadLt.

I still havent gone through my cards that I bought in Baltimore. I wound up getting a great bargain, well I guess I'll know more when I open it. I got a package of 10 or 12 Pujols cards in toploaders shrink wrapped together for $5.00. Consider almost every single one of his cards books for at least $1.25 (cept for season highlights cards, I am sure I did ok).
