Apparently next March the WWE will be releasing a "Sean Michaels' 25 Best Matches" set. Even if I had more interest in him, most of those matches are peppered on other sets that are out there.

Heres your listings on the upcoming HBK DVD set. I was wary as I thought there were going to be a heap of duplicated matches off of other sets, but someone on the board at www.f4wonline.com said there are only TWO repeats here. Shawn Michaels is one of the most charismatic and talented athletes in the history of entertainment. For more than 20 years he has wowed crowds, earning accolades, championships and numerous monikers, including “The Icon,” “The Main Event,” and “Mr. WrestleMania.” Now, for the first time ever, Shawn Michaels sits down and in an intimate interview retraces his early days in Texas through his Rocker tag-team partnership in AWA and WWE through his multiple reigns as WWE Champion. Shawn Michaels: My Journey offers surprising insights and absolute candor as he relives the highs and lows of his historic career. Over 20 amazing matches from the 80s, 90s and 2000s —most available on DVD for the very first time—demonstrate why Shawn Michaels is truly “The Showstopper.” A Boy in a Man’s World Shawn Michaels vs. One Man Gang World Class Championship Wrestling January 11, 1985 Our Big Event Midnight Rockers vs. ‘Playboy’ Buddy Rose / ‘Pretty Boy’ Doug Summers AWA WrestleRock April 20, 1986 Rockin’ All Night AWA World Tag Team Championship Midnight Rockers vs. Nasty Boys AWA Championship Wrestling March 5, 1988 “They Wanted Us” Rockers vs. Brain Busters Boston Garden March 18, 1989 Tag Team Success Rockers vs. Hart Foundation Madison Square Garden November 25, 1989 Going Solo Intercontinental Championship Shawn Michaels vs. Bret Hart Ottawa, Ontario June 2, 1992 Alternate Commentary: Michael Cole / Shawn Michaels Always Having Fun with Davey Shawn Michaels vs. British Bulldog RAW March 6, 1995 Contrasting Styles Intercontinental Championship Shawn Michaels vs. Sid Vicious RAW September 11, 1995 High Flyers Shawn Michaels vs. 1-2-3 Kid RAW March 4, 1996 The Champion Shawn Michaels vs. Mankind RAW August 11, 1997 D-Generation X WWE European Championship British Bulldog vs. Shawn Michaels One Night Only September 20, 1997 This Is Going To Be Art Casket Match for the WWE Championship Shawn Michaels vs. Undertaker Royal Rumble January 18, 1998 Ups & Downs Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho WrestleMania XIX March 30, 2003 My Friend Shawn Michaels vs. Ric Flair Bad Blood June 15, 2003 Alternate Commentary: Michael Cole / Shawn Michaels High Expectations Shawn Michaels vs. Kurt Angle WrestleMania 21 April 3, 2005 Montreal & The Hulkster Shawn Michaels Promo in Montreal on Hulk Hogan RAW August 15, 2005 Tribute to the Troops Boot Camp Match Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H RAW December 19, 2005 Alternate Commentary: Michael Cole / Shawn Michaels The Veteran Fatal 4-Way Match for the WWE Championship John Cena vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Edge vs. Randy Orton Backlash April 29, 2007 Legend Killer WWE Championship Match Shawn Michaels vs. Randy Orton Survivor Series November 18, 2007 The Family Man Unsanctioned Match Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho Unforgiven September 7, 2008 Mr. WrestleMania Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels WrestleMania 25 April 5, 2009 Greatest Ever? The Hart family has long served as Canada’s first family of Sports Entertainment, from patriarch Stu and his Stampede Wrestling and Dungeon, a training site that has produced multiple Hall of Famers, though sons Bret, Owen, on to a new generation of WWE Superstars, The Hart Dynasty. Looks like a Hell of a set. Lots of those matches are available elsewhere, but I see what they were doing here. By the way, that Owen / Bulldog match for the Euro Title may be one of the best matches I have seen in my lifetime, and possibly my personal favorite.

3 disc "Best of Ricky Steamboat" set in production for a release come June or so. Looking forward to it, although a lot of his stuff is already available on other sets and will end up repeated (like the matches with Flair on the Flair sets)

He apparently looks just like his Dad. Has the same babyface way of selling moves, always playing the guy in peril. He's very talented, from what I read, he's going to be a good one. Going by the name Richie Steamboat for now. WWE is very high on him, after he started his career training under Harley Race.

Ok, ill take some heat for this, but yesterday we did a Best Buy trip, and I went in there focused to buy one wrestling DVD. Essentially, it came down to 3 choices - the Randy Savage set ($29.99) , the Batista set ($29.99) , or the John Morrison 1-disc set ($14.99)
I went with....
Big Dave!
Batista is bad-ass. Im going to wait for the price to come down on the Savage stuff. While I was a huge fan of his at the time, he did not age well to me. Maybe its all the campy Black-Machismo stuff thats out there!

I would have went with Savage.....unless there is a lot of "vintage" Deacon Batisita footage.....then I could be swayed.... ;D

Saw a picture of Steamboat Jr. Doesn't quite look big enough to make it, but that could be just the picture and he might be bigger now.
I guess we'll see. Second generation wrestlers are always fun though.

I got the new HBK box set. Good news Balls, Taker is winning at Mania. The way that DVD ends no way Shawn still wrestles after Mania. I need to prepare myself for the dark ages of wrestling like 98 to 02.

What makes you say that?
And even if he loses, we all know retirement matches aren't binding.
I can't see Shawn's final match EVER being a loss to the Undertaker at WM, as a heel.

He was heelish in the way he made the match happen.
This will not be the first PPV I refuse to buy because I fear HBK will win.

Not really, he was just obsessed. even the way he explained costing Taker the title didn't get much boos. Plus Taker ducked him first, so storyline wise people understand why HBK would do what he did.
Trust me, I know Shawn, the end of the DVD he says he's ready for it to be over. This is a DVD that came out weeks before a match where his retirement is in the balance? Plus, after Naitch, he said he didn't want to stick around much longer after that. It'll be two years. Sadly, I'll be part of an endangered species within 2 weeks.

I guess we'll see. I'm certainly still expecting HBK to win, and even if he loses, he'll likely be back.
The smartest thing he could ever do is retire and never wrestle again.
He's in his 40s, but not that old. He's been hurt, but given what he can still do, it's not THAT bad. He must have made decent money and have plenty put away.
Why continue to put your body through that kind of punishment when he can do other things? Even if he stayed in the business, I'm sure they can find a role for him that doesn't involve wrestling, be it announcing, managing, or even some kind of off camera office job.

Ok, so I picked up the HBK DVD. Admirable, in that he is certainly not one of my favorites. But this DVD has its buzz, and HBK undeniably has had some killer matches. In particular, I am happy to have the Retirement match with Flair, the two matches with British Bulldog, and early tags with The Nasty Boys and the Brain Busters.
We had a 10% off coupon from Best Buy, so I got it for $20 bucks. I am interested to hear his take on things, although its probably a lot of horse hooey.
Ill comment along with James as I make my way through it. Sadly I put it on the other night while totallly drained, and fell asleep during the match with One Man Gang, who was always one of my favorites.

He's actually really open about stuff, brutally honest about himself and other events and people. Whether you agree with him or not, he doesn't hold back with what he feels. Even going so far as to call Hogan a dick, I bet he needed to say some Hail Mary's after that.
I'm not saying you'll like what he has to say Tom, but if you watch it unbiasedly, it's really interesting.
The worst part of the entire thing is Cole's phony emotion.

Well, Chris Jericho is FINALLY getting his set. 3 disc package, coming out in or around September of this year. It was always confusing to many how guys like John Morrison or even Kane would get career retrospectives, but nothing for Jericho.
Totally looking forward to this, though there are a ton of Jericho sets out there in the trading world, including some of nothing but his smart-ass / funny WCW run.

This promises to be a solid offering. Bobby Heenan! Product Description

He guided members of the infamous Heenan Family to great heights in both the AWA and WWE, even occasionally stepping into the ring himself. He also further cemented his place in pro wrestling lore by becoming one of the great color commentators of all time, completely earning his 2004 induction into the WWE Hall of Fame. Thing on the Heenan DVD is that its too short. The documentary only goes 48 minutes, which is scant for WWE productions. It leaves you wanting more, but thats due to the genius of the subject. Its a good package, but like I said, missing some stuff. There is also no "booklet" in the packaging, so if you want the menu, you need to print it out online, or navigate through the disc slowly.
