Found it...thanks:
2nd bolt from blue Horror hit home of '97 parade victim BY RICH SCHAPIRO DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITER
Cory Lidle's doomed plane didn't just crash into anybody's apartment. It exploded into the empty bedroom of Kathleen Caronna, the Manhattan woman who was critically injured when a balloon knocked part of a lamppost onto her head during the 1997 Thanksgiving Day Parade. The plane's engine was found only feet away from where Caronna sleeps, her relatives told the Daily News yesterday. "She lost her whole bedroom," said a family member, who asked not to be identified. "Everything's devastated. ... She's got nowhere to go." Caronna was on her way home Wednesday when the plane crashed into the Belaire at 2:42p.m. She was extremely shaken after the disaster, telling loved ones she would have been home if the plane had crashed only a few minutes later. Her sister-in-law, Lisa Brown, 43, called Caronna's situation "unbelievable." "How do you go through two major things like this?" Brown asked. "It's spooky. It's very spooky." Caronna was a 33-year-old investment analyst in 1997 when she was critically injured at the Thanksgiving Day parade. She was watching the festivities with her husband and 7-month-old son at 72nd St. and Central Park West when handlers lost control of the six-story-high Cat in the Hat balloon. A section of a streetlight weighing several hundred pounds fell and hit Caronna on the head. Her skull was fractured, and she spent 24 days in a coma before waking up. She later sued Macy's and the city for $395 million, but settled for an undisclosed amount in 2001. Yesterday, investigators escorted Caronna into her charred apartment to survey the damage, her relatives said. She has been living in the high-rise with her husband, Ignazio Massimo, and their 9-year-old son, Alessandro. "This is a tough time for us, and I can't really talk now," her husband said yesterday. Caronna's mother, Helen Brown, said her daughter's apartment is unlivable. The bedroom went up in flames. Asked about her daughter, Brown said, "She's fine."

James posted this WAY back, but it must be corrected....I only stumbled upon it again opening up the wrong page...
The co pilot was NOT experienced. He had only had his license a few months like Lidle. He was fucking 26 and just learned to fly.
WRONG. He started flying at 17. So he's going on 9 years now. He had only flown in New York City once.
Oh, and one more thing, for you idiots crying about people flying. Balls, what do you think about Mayor Bloomberg being a noted pilot?
And how about this one....a few months back Don Mattingly was asked if he was a pilot and he answered, "No, I'm not....but my 14 year old is. He's quite good at it, actually."
Say it ain't so! Why dont you harrass the mayor and Donnie Baseball for falling into this flying trap!

James, you are so wrong. We'd all be just as happy if you died in a plane, train, boat or car. Check your facts before you spew malarky... Cory Lidle's co-pilot was NOT inexperienced, he was a flight instructor who had been flying for over 10 years, and owned his own flight school in southern CA. From a 2004 feature article in The San Gabriel Valley Tribune: (local LA area newspaper) Tyler Stanger, 24, of Walnut, graduated from the aviation program at Mt. San Antonio College and has a degree in aviation management from Southern Illinois University. Stanger is a certified flight instructor and an A and P (airframe and power plant) mechanic and owns his own flight school and aircraft rental business.
As a child, Stanger would watch the planes fly over his home near Rialto Airport with fascination. At age 16, he had the opportunity to try flying and obtained his license by 17. He worked at Howard Aviation at Brackett Field in various capacities, finally as a full-time mechanic.

Sorry for the double post, T, but I was responding to James' idiotic post from less than an hour ago, the last post on page 4, where he claims that both Lidle and the co-pilot "had only been flying for a few months."
Lidle is even more experienced than "a few months," having gotten his pilot's license last year, right after the season ended, which puts him at having it for almost a year.

Lidle also had over 75 hours of flight-time to his credit, which is no small shakes. To make it sound like two people with no clue were up in the air is just asinine, especially when the facts were out and out wrong in regards to the instructor.
James, you are a fool. And you better come on here with facts. Stop making things up to fit your argument. Thats Balls' tact.

Well, it doesn't matter if Bloomberg or Mattingly's kid fly. If they fly alone, in a small plane, and crash, they're idiots. Why the hell would Bloomberg fly a plane himself? He's a billionaire. But he won't be spending that money if he screws up and crashes. Dick.

LOL wishing I'd be dead, yeah Laura, you're so fucking cool. And here's the kicker, Toms going to tell me to calm it even though one person is wishing me death. CAUSE AN OPINION IS DIFFERENT THAN HERS! Go ahead and try and be cool wishing I'd die, the real tragedy is that you weren't in the plane with Lidle you fucking fat cunt. I'd tell you to hang yourself, but it'd be hard to find a beam that would support your shamoo like body. Go fall in a pool of Magic Johnsons blood.

Hey, break it up, you two. Keep the discourse civil.
Why the hell would Bloomberg fly a plane himself? He's a billionaire.
Uh....I dont know....maybe he, oh, ENJOYS IT?? Flying is a HOBBY to many people. For Gods sake, most of the people who do it regularly are at the least MILLIONAIRES cause its quite an expensive hobby, having to own your own plane and all.
You stupid idiot.
Whats next, "why would Bloomberg wipe his own ass? He's a billionaire?"

I'd be more apt to believe he was the guy who took it home to eat it after the show.

And will he ENJOY it like Lidle did when he crashed? Flying is a stupid hobby, as Cory Lidle found out. Nice leisurely last look at the city. SLAM.
If Bloomberg wipes his ass wrong, he has a smelly hand. He flies the plane wrong, and we need a new mayor.

And either way, one was flying for less than a year, he could have been in the airforce than huhb Laura? And the other schumuck, never flew in NY? Wow so real smart he goes and trys it on a whim? What happens when more people die in that building cause two idiots couldn't fly in NY? Like it's so fucking smart to fly a small plane in Manhattan. but I'm the idiot. Why to nitpick a tiny detail and prove me right.
I can't believe people think it's such a tragedy that two people died instead of more because two guys were inexpereicned when flying in NY. Yeah that's logical.

LOL @ 75 hours of flying. Holy shit was a fucking pro.
OH Mayor Bloomberg flies, that makes it cool and every new yorker should get a license and put a shit load of people in harms way because of a selfsih hobby. Bloomberg flies so hop in a plane and cost the city who knows how much money. More people could have died, but this ass gets a freebie because he was a fucking yankee. Pathetic.
For Halloween my friend is going to be a building and I'm gonna be a plane and reenact the steallar pilot job of a guy who was so good at flying even though he flew for just about 3 days. He knew what he was doiing. That's why a building that is home to people got a nice black paint job.

I'm intrigued by this Balls-James alliance and, frankly, sort of disturbed.

Balls and James are not the most imposing of alliances.

And we're not trying to join sides. Simply, great minds think alike. And we think flying a plane for no reason is stupid. Lidle proved it. We win.

I was indeed the one behind the idea of the onset pumpkin and never really thought to remove it once the whole tragedy took place. I also added bunting the next day to give the set a "playoff" feel. Thanks for the comments, next time I will remove all festive props if something tragic happens.

Well played.
Dana actually bought up a good point - if the pumpkin "disappeared" during a commercial break it would have called even more attention to the thing. Well, it could have been worse, it could have had a goofy "Jack O Lantern" face.

Yeah pumpkins yay, not to get off topic or be a dickhead, but Tom, why you edit your post where you called the pilot of the plane a dope? Did you change it cause it was Lidle? See, when you didn't know who it was, he was a dope. Then change it and defend the guy to fit your argument when clearly, you felt it was sort of moronic upon first hearing it. Shame shame shame sir.

What are you talking about, you moron? Check the very first post on this thread, I call the pilot "probably some idiot." I never changed/edited any namecalling I did on this thread. What post are you referring to?
I never said a pilot who does not hit a building is not an idiot. I just dont think someone is an idiot for simply flying a plane.

My fault then, I knew the first post but I could have sworn you said dope, which is why I put a lol on page 2, but sometimes I click on the thread and try and get a page and it goes on the first page so I scrolled down fast thinking it was the last page and saw an edited post of yours and I could have sworn you used the word dope later on in page 1. I'm probably wrong.
But either way, you even said it was a stupid move. And I don't thnk it's stupid for someone to want to be a pilot. But to me when you're a highly paid person, and highly paid because of services one offers, it is highly stupid, selfish and irresponsible for someone to increase their nchance of dying. This gy is geting pity cause he's a yankee. If it was someone for Hoboken no one would care.

No. You're not "probably" wrong. Your are just plain wrong. Apology not accepted.
And, to clarify my dumb comment. I called the pilot dumb in the same way I would call someone who caused a wreck on the Southern State Parkway by changing lanes in front of someone without a blinker on dumb. Anyone at fault in an accident is dumb. At the time I heard this, with no further info, I assumed there was pilot error. If thats confirmed, yeah, he's dumb. But not dumb to fly, and not dumb to fly while being rich. Just dumb in that he crashed.

I didn't apologize, I knew you ripped him because he made a stupid move. I was wrong in the fact I thought you edited a post calling him a dope, cause I remember the word dope. The first post says idiot. So if I got post mixed up, then whatever, my point is still right, he fucked up flying yet you're condoning and inexperiencfed guy flying a plance because it's a fun hobby. It's been proven it was a pilot error. He made a turn when he shouldn't have, and a more experenced flyer would have known not to do it. I love his 6 year old kid saying it wasn't his dads fault, well who's fault is it, the buildings? He couldn't fly but your all gun ho for people flying when they shouldn't be pilots. You called him a dope, but then back him for a hobby that killed him.

He was not inexperienced. He had a license, and 75 hours of flight time in just under a year. That works for me.
its been proven as a pilot error
Sorry, but no it hasnt. They are not done investigating this. There is a chance the steering was stuck in some fashion and they could not complete the turn. A number of other things could have gone wrong. They are not even close to determining what caused this. Nice try.
Dope.

I've heard reports on news and I'm sure I could find it, and I'm not too sure on the different winds, but he made a turn when he shouldn't have, got cuahgt in a bad wind, I think a tailwind or whatever the fuck. I heard he makes a left turn, gets caught in the bad wind and pretty much pushes the plane from behind making it more difficult to turn(an experienced pilot would have known that). So when he makes the turn and this wind starts to get behind the plane and push it, he slams right into a wall. If he knew what he was doing, he would not have made that move and wouldn't have ended his life.
Yes, he is a dope. I'm right again.
