More like they were like this year's Tigers. After an awful finish to the regular season (where they were way ahead in the division), they turned it on at the right time. They had to go through 2 90 plus win teams to win that championship. Maybe they shouldn't have been there, but at least they beat the best teams in baseball to get their championship.
The Mets are playing average teams in the NL only because they have to have 4 teams. The Mets are the only team worthy of representing the NL in the World Series and they were given a cakewalk there.
83 wins and playing in the LCS is a laugher.

Hey, it's not the Mets fault the league was littered with badly put together teams. They are the best team there and should be in the World Series. I'll tell you this, if they had a healthy Pedro and Hernandez they'd be even scarier.

That I will agree with. It's not the Mets FAULT the entire league sucks. But let's not treat them like they are actually a great team. They have a bye to the World Series. They're a good team, but in the AL, they might not even make the playoffs.

Sure they do. They have an awesome hitting team, and a decent enough staff to get them to the playoffs.
Kinda like the Yanks, right? LOL

Not quite. The Yankees faced better competition throughout the year. The Mets were under .500 in their interleague.

Ok, Oakland was below .500 in interleage. They are in the ALCS, does that mean they are flukes? Colorado was above .500 in interleague. Are they on the verge of a title?
You're argument is DUMB, and it stems from not watning to admit the Mets are an above average team. Mediocre teams don't dominate mediocre teams. Mediocre teams don't stay in first place since 4-5 games into the season.

What's DUMB is that you think that the NL is actually a major league. The point is that the only good team in the NL couldn't hold their own with the AL. And never did I say the Mets weren't above average. The point though is nothing they have done so far has meant shit because their entire league is garbage.
The Mets would win the league in AAA too, doesn't mean anything.

Balls, you're making it sound like the AL is Division I and the NL is Division III. Yes, right now the AL is better, but not by the gigantic gap you're trying to claim.

Right now, may not be Division I and Division III, but it's Division I v. Division II. The NL is completely mediocre.
Now.
But that may change in the offseason.

I disagree. The gap is NOT that big. There's definitely a gap, but it's not that big.

Sure, but it still won't change that the NL sucks. One series doesn't erase an entire season.
The gap is like Larry's nose. HUGE!

But a World Series title does, and it will if they win it.
Tigers are rolling, and I think it rocks. I love seeing a new team in the mix, especially one I haven't seen in the playoffs since I was a kid, or EVER.

Of course you dont. You're a poser baseball fan. You dont know anything outside of the Yankees and the fact that you hate the Mets, but cant name 10 of them.
You should be disqualified from even talking about the playoffs. HONEST question. No fudging around. How much of the baseball playoffs, outside of the Yankee games, have you watched?

Like you know anything about baseball. The only thing you know is how to read a magazine and champion players that suck. You're just a self hating Yankee fan who thinks that by sucking off other teams, you actually know something.
You can watch every inning of every game, but you have proven that you know nothing.

As I thought - spoken by a guy who has not watched ONE MINUTE of any other baseball games. I believe that holds true for the entire season, not just the playoffs. Your mispronunciations of some of the biggest names in baseball and your "what team is he on again" questions during the draft sort of gave it away as well.

Actually, once again, you show a lack of comprehension. I watched bits of the other playoff games, but I don't revolve around it.
True, I don't have a magazine in front of me like you do to tell me the teams, but unfortunately you still can't judge talent, as the annual standings show. And while names like Mark Grudzielanek elude me, you don't have to pronounce a name right to tell if he's good or not. You seem to know a lot about pronouncing names, but can't judge talent for shit.
How's Hammond doing by the way?

You should revolve around it. Baseball playoffs are always good.
Your homework assignment is to watch the Mets tonight.

Smallville is more important than the Mets. But I will likely flip between commercials. The Mets will likely be up 6 runs after the second inning.

Thats the best you got? You're hopeless.
Balls actually yelled at me online today for not watching last weeks Heroes last night. I was like, um...there was some important baseball action going on...
I'll have plenty of time for TV after October.
Most of us are Yankee fans, and baseball fans. Balls is just a Yankee fan.
Big difference.

It's not the best, but it's still an example of a player that sucks, that you champion. Kenny Rogers is a more recent example.
Last year you wanted the Yankees to sign Eric Milton. You probably would cheer if he ends up a Yankee.
You maybe a baseball fan, but you know nothing about the game.

I never wanted Eric Milton.
And seems I was right on about Kenny "over 200 wins in his career" Rogers, who just owned the Yankees a few days ago.

Again, the concept of one good start does not overshadow an entire career is lost on you. And you were in favor of getting Eric Milton and defending him.

No, I was not in favor of that. If anything, I cited him as a better option than certian other people floating around. At this point we will never know what he would have done with the Yankees.
Rogers' career does not NEED to be overshadowed by one start. You are forgetting his TWO HUNDRED PLUS WINS, which is more than Ron Guidry, to name one, as I did before.

Eric Milton is not a better option than anyone in baseball. And we do know what he would have done with the Yankees. He would have stunk, like he stunk everywhere he pitched in his career.
200 wins, but he's 41 years old, and only pitched well in small markets in low pressure situations. Many of his wins came due to other teams having good offenses, a fact you can't get even though it's been explained many times.
Lefties are a commodity, which is why shitty lefties last longer than they should. One good start will not change that Kenny Rogers sucks.
