Sometimes I should be wrong, like last June, when I said that we were watching the beginning of the Rennaissance of Kenny Rogers. I guess not all pitchers in their 40s have discs popping out of their backs, rolling down the mound. Although sometimes an old horse should be sent out to pasture... or to the glue factory. In any case he apparently STILL needs anger management... www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20061003/NEWS99/61003015/1048/SPORTSDetroit Police investigate complaint against Kenny Rogers October 3, 2006 Email this Print this BY CECIL ANGEL FREE PRESS STAFF WRITER Detroit Tigers' Kenny Rogers in a file photo. (ASSOCIATED PRESS) Detroit Police are investigating a complaint from a man who says Detroit Tigers' pitcher Kenny Rogers grabbed him by the collar during a confrontation in a parking structure near Comerica Park. According to police, there are two versions as to what happened at the parking structure at Brush and Montcalm at 12:25 a.m. on Sunday. In both versions, a 37-year-old man approaches Rogers asking him to give him an autograph and Rogers refuses. The man becomes upset and begins cursing Rogers, then starts banging on his car. Rogers exits the car and confronts the man face to face. Police are trying to determine what really happened next. The man said that Rogers grabbed him by his collar but bystanders broke the pair up. However, a witness told police that Rogers and the man just argued but there was no physical contact. Both versions end with Rogers driving away. Rogers' anger management issues received national publicity last year when he pitched for the Texas Rangers. On June 29, 2005, Rogers lashed out at two Texas cameramen as they taped him walking to the field for pregame stretching. The episode led to one of those cameramen, Larry Rodriguez, being treated at a hospital after the camera was ripped from his hands and thrown to the ground. Rogers apologized a week later, saying the incident was out of character and would never happen again

Whats your point? The guy goes out and shuts down the vaunted Yankee machine, the $100 million dollar offense, and you are posting a lurid tale about him scuffling with fans and cameramen? Who cares?
And anyone who did not see this as a possibility is dense. The guy has over 200 wins in his major league career. He is in esteemed company in that. He won 17 games this year. Only one pitcher, Johan Santana, outpitched him after July in the American League. It pisses me off, but I have to tip the cap to him.
And I refuse to hammer Randy Johnson on here being the Yankees could not score one friggin' run. This was a group effort, this loss. Stop pointing fingers and live with it.

Yeah, what if that game was the game that gives the tigers the same spark the White sx got last year getting out of that jam against Boston, or Boston getting win against us and rolling everyone over? You never know.

It may give the Tigers a spark to beat Oakland, but it won't change that Rogers had a fluke start. Anything can happen. Hell, Jeff WEAVER also had a freakishly good start. Rogers is shit, and shit sinks.

Sure, but that doesn't mean he won't play well for the rest of the poastseason. He had a big monkey on his back, and he got it off. That MIGHT change the way he pitches these games. We'll see.

Thing is, he's still Kenny Rogers. Sure, anyone can have a hot streak, but it's Kenny Rogers.

Yeah, and he's still Kenny Rogers, who has sucked ass in every major situation and has only won in small markets in non pressure situations, schmuck.

Yes, a career which has seen him win TWO HUNDRED GAMES. More than Ron Guidry, to name one guy.
He also has a Hell of a winning percentage....207 wins to 139 losses.
The man does not need to defend himself to a fake baseball fan like you, just cause he pissed us off when he wore a Yankee uniform.

A career where he CHOKED on the big stage CONSTANTLY.
Sorry if you can't see the type of pitcher he was when the games counted. Next you'll be in the ARod thread defending his year based on his numbers.

We should change your name to mini-Tom.
You're just a little parrot, and you parrot an idiot.

Then again, if he continues to pitch well, and helps the Tigers to a pennant or a title, then it will erase much of his past stigma.

Ok mini-Tom. You parrot his stupid sayings in every thread so much you should be perched on his shoulder and beg for crackers.
Kenny Rogers is a bum, period. When you're done with Tom, suck him off too for one good game.

Wow I say you know dick about baseball and you call me a parrot, good one. It doesn't even bother me because you know jack shit about baseball so you calling me mini Tom just proves I'm right. Again.
An infant making noises is more intelligent than you speaking on baseball let alone the fucking yankees.

He's a bum in the postseason (up unitl this year at least) but he's been a more than decent pitcher in the regular season.

He's decent when pitching on a non-contending team out of the pressure and spotlight.
One good game doesn't change that.

No matter what, he's shit. At worst, it's a fluke start. At best, it's a hot streak. Either way, he's still Kenny Rogers, and in the end, shit sinks.
