OK...so, with these latest revalations....
The Lakers DO need a point guard. But do the Lakers need the headaches of a Stephan Marbury, and do they want that big contract. I'm just thinking/wondering outloud...what do the Knicks have that the Lakers would take in return for Kobe.
I think the Lakers would clearly require at least: one of Steve Francis/Marbury -AND- one of Eddie Curry/David Lee

Two predictions:
1) Kobe will be traded either for a #1 draft pick, or to the team that picks Durant.
2) Billy Donovan will not take the Magic job after the heat that Nick Saban took for his shenanigans.
(Watch me go 0 for 2)

Lebron was sick last night. I hope the Pistons still take them out. I'd rather see a rematch from two years ago than see Lebron playing there.

I don't know...I'd like to see LeBron get a shot at the title. He seems to be a good guy..likeable kinda character.
He certainly doesn't annoy the fuck out of me the way Kobe Bryant does (until he becomes a Knick...haha) to the point of rooting against him.

For that, he is now banned from the NBA. I don't know why he would go back on the Magic job. All his players are going to the NBA next year, you won tow consecutive NCAA titles and why turn down the millions and face a new challenge? Dumb, if you ask me. It's not like he has to relocate to a new state.

Well, from what I hear he is FIRMLY entrenched in the Gainesville area - very closely tied to the the school and the community.
AND...beleive it or not, a good college coaching gig can be exponentially more rewarding than a pro gig, and I think he came to realize that. In Orlando, he would simply be the coach of the Magic, and he would be dealing with millionaire players who are largely beyond coach-able. In Gainesville, Billy Donovan is an icon that transcends basketball - he is loved personally and professionally there, and he has TOTAL autonomy over that program. Frankly, I was more shocked that he took the Magic job in the first place. Also, I think I heard that Donovan actually founded a school in the Gainesville area. And Donovan has a pretty high paying contract (as far as coaches go) paying him all the way through 2014 - you can't get that kind of job security in the NBA.

I just thought I;d point out how dead the NBA is..a board of rabid sports fans, and a referee scandal, Carter signing back with the Nets and a huge celtics trade and not one post.
The NCAA ice hockey got more interest. This league is in trouble

Unlike any other league, the NBA is star driven. There is no Michael, Magic, or Larry available today...and don't give me that Kobe, Lebron crap either...those guys aren't even close to The Big Three when it comes to likability, marketability, and personality.
I agree...the league is in trouble. I'm a perfect example...I played a lot of competitive basketball. I am a better basketball player than I am at any other sport and I have invested more of my personal life in this sport than any other... yet I haven't sat down and watch an entire professional basketball game in probably 5+ years.

I can't see the NBA ever having a big three like that ever again. They cared first and foremost about winning...not hosting the ESPYs or smoking pot.

The NBA, as we knew it under the reign of Bird, Magic, and Jordan is over.
Hip-Hop, Sprite commercials, and Nike Shoes have ruined the NBA as a team game forever. From this point on any successful NBA team will be the team that can best get their complimentary players to just stay out of their superstars way. No longer will we have case of the Lakers beating the Nets in the NBA finals - it will be a case of Kobe beating Carter.
Another note - Isiah Thomas is like the War In Iraq. 2/3 thirds of the population are sick of it and want it gone already, however the President still insists its worthwhile.

Anybody interested in fantasy basketball? $200.... roto style 10 categories
If it's too steep for you, you can share a team with a friend to lessen the load.

Yao Ming out for the season..... LOL Dude can never stay healthy. The Rockets are on a 12 game win streak, two games behind the leaders and now get this. The West has some basketball right now. I think like 8 teams are all playing .600+

I am officially adapoting the Hornets as the team I am rooting for in the playoffs due to the fact they play a Ric Flair "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" after a made basket and the crowd "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO's " back!!!

That's how fickle the NBA is....4 straight conference playoff series and the guy gets sent packing.
I could give a shit about this Finals. One one end I hate the team and it's rapist superstar, on the other end I hate the whole damn city.

Kobe is such a smug douchebag. It sickens me the way he's getting all these props for being such a "Team" guy.
What a bunch of hogwash. Kobe has historically bailed out at the first sign of anything not going his way. He ousted Shaq because he wanted the dynamic of the team to change. He's threatened multiple times to demand a trade when he wanted the team dynamic that he ushered in, changed again. It just so happened that the Lakers were good enough to make it the Finals and NOW Kobe is a team player?

How about a little professionalism, you rapist douche. No one is going to forget about your adultery because you continue to use your kids as PR pawns.
